For the past 21 years I’ve had the same main analog mixing board in my studio. Up until now this board has served me well with relatively no issues. However, I know its days are numbered, and time and again I’m drawn back to the MGP32X for the reasons stated in this presentation. From my perspective this console more than meets my analog requirements. I wanted to share this information with anyone interested. I hope it serves useful.
I set up one of these today at our church. This video answered some questions I had. The board is a used(on loan for now)2014model and looked like new. It is replacing a 2008 A&H GL2400 that got damage from a voltage surge that was a result of electrical fire. I had the opportunity to use operate one of these a few months back and I was pleased with its performance.
The 100hz high pass filter (sometimes called a "low cut" filter) when engaged, attenuates (cuts) frequencies below 100hz and reduces unwanted low end rumble sometimes caused by improper mic handling, outdoor wind, etc. My statement clarifies mark 9:50 in the video. Thanks for taking time to go through the features.
I have the 16 Ch version. All i can say is i love the sound quality when using the compressor. And the reason why i brought it 1, I have their MSP 3 powered speakers which i had since 2001 up to now With no problems so i know this mixer is going to last me a very long time. 2, to replace my 16 Ch Behringer Mixer which has buzz noises issues.
Thanks for making this video. Truth be told I was at one church that had a Yamaha MCL7 32 Channel board and I loved it. Now 3 years later I'm at a much smaller church that had a Eurodesk mx2442a board. It has gone bad. So with a limited budget I got the Yamaha MGP24X and have been reading the manual. So I looked for a video on it and found yours. I was hopeful I could eq each channel But that doesn't look to be the case. They only have power amps for 2 main speakers and no master eq or any other additional equipment. That's the difference between a church of 100 compared to a church of 1200.. But I digress, , Anyways thanks for this video and the time you took to do it!

i think you need to dive in menu ( screen ) for main eq .. because this mixer is semi digital analog mixer
What would you say has the best sound quality? This Yamaha vs Tascam Dp32 vs Tascam model 24? Just pure sound quality in your unbiased opinion.
If I was interested in getting the MG24 console, which power amp would be best when running an 8 piece band ?

A “Pad” is an attenuator not an amplifier, when the Pad button is depressed it will reduce the input by 24 dB not increase it.
