You covered this better than the news. Nice work!
to be fair the new can’t spend 10mins on a segment
Not to sh!!t on anyone's enjoyment, BUT it needed to be done. I went to Spring Break back in 2011 in Miami and the people were acting like animals back then. It's just gonna get more out of control and violent. It needs to be stopped.
I went in 2018 by accident. It was terrifying. My understanding is it has only gotten worse every year since.
I agree 100%!! They arrest anyone and everyone who is involved in craziness
This is raciss. So when white people do it, it is k.
Funny because GMA just ran a story about how bad the business is Lmfao
I love it I love seeing beautiful white woman and hot Latinas at the beach or just walking around the piece and calmness in the city. I really smelled the the difference in the air.
It's sad that this was even necessary. Can't blame Miami Beach though. Residents have a right to live in peace.
They get a little bit of peace, Miami beach isnt a place to be, next week gonna be wild as shit. shootings, stabbings, od's... like Honestly, waste of money to shut down the city.
@@nickjimbob2776 not at all. It's not like these crooks are spending tons of money.
You literally have the police surrounding your homes now. That's peaceful?
Chaos will not be tolerated! I approve.
Spring break Miami is now a police convention 😂
Can you blame them?
I love how Florida lectures everyone else on freedom, they now have a police state.
@vincentinchoco8969 Up to you. I'll never visit Florida. I mean, if you want the government THIS involved in your life, that's your business

Great documentation of this historic crack down in Miami Beach
Excellent report. Very detailed. Way better than regular news.
2 OPEN BOTTLES OF LIQUOR - DONT NEED TO BE DRIVING - GREAT JOB MIAMI!
that was in his trunk
a DUI should be five years suspention of a drivers liciense 2nd should be ten 3rd should be for life
Drive up to an advertised DUI checkpoint with open containers. That’s like showing up at a vegan convention with a bucket of KFC. Extra crispy.
i'm from Canada and have a winter home in Miami Beach which i am currently at and i glad these strict measures are in place. The disrespect shown by young people of the years was disgraceful.
"young people"
Shame that the same group of people have to always ruin it for everybody else.
Well just to let you know…..not every “young person” in America goes to Miami let alone Florida for Spring Break, and not all of them are destructive. There’s some who prefer to stay home for Spring break or they have work and can’t really go anywhere.
@@tiamarrow6366 what an irrelevant comment
Your correct, it's the ones that DO go to Miami, not the ones that stay home. Duh@@tiamarrow6366
great coverage, thanks joel.
As a black man GOOD. Im happy they finally doing it. Quadruped the fines.
wth
Thanks for letting us that you are a African American!😊
@@kryptism he ain’t say that. No, he be saying that he black
What's the difference!🥴
What does you being black have to do with anything?😂 Guilty much?
Love it. Rules are rules. They don't have to be so rowdy to have fun. And in the case last year. Lost of life. They brought this on themselves.
People do not understand economic impact. If an event brings in 100 million but has 300 million of cleanup you are negative 200 million. The juice isn't worth the squeeze. Food has very little profit to it except appetizers and desserts. Bottled beer has very little profit. Most money is in draft beers on tap and then specialty drinks often highest yield. Unfortunately what tends to make the most profit also is ripe for the most chaos and destruction. Some people are nice drunks, some angry, some stupid and others go through all the above.
You the government always screws something up lol who tf wants to vacation somewhere and see this???
Welcome to the world of respecting rules young generation 😂😂 it is time for you to understand that you cannot do everything you want as you want! It is time to be responsible !
Good luck teaching them I promise they won't learn.
Every city, town and neighborhood is trying to break up with “spring breakers” 😂
Until the locals have to pay more it’s always sweet until one business won’t take a short
You mean "black spring breakers".
@@YAZZYUTUBEI'm curious, I only see images of yts and cubans
@LisaSoulLevelHealing on new channels, every time they show a video of spring breakers. It always looks like it's only black people
@@ernestogastelum9123 they show the people rioting…they just call them “spring breakers” to avoid the obvious
Excellent efforts by government, stopping violence is important, the community should be safer. Students will find a new place to enjoy spring break!
Great coverage as always Joel, many thanks! Can’t wait to see next weekend if things remain the same.
Glad to see how SAFE walking down miami beach and the avenues in the video. Keep it up Joel! cant wait for the update for this coming weekend
Good job Miami. I wouldn’t want my beautiful little town and Beach torn up by spring break either.
Miami looked at what happened to NYC and was like NAH, we actually have a brain
People don’t come to nyc for spring break …. So?
@@444onthefloornyc is already infested who would go there ,the pest are seeking new city to ruining
@@444onthefloor They go to get mugged.
What does NYC have to do with this? Lol
I guess you don’t get out much. NYC doesn’t have spring break. And the violent crime rate in Miami is 3x higher than New York. This is what happens when you repeat what you hear. The tourist area like Times Square has been far safer than Miami. Try again
Thank you to Joel Franco for this realistic view of what's happening.I feel bad for the the common everyday workers that have to endure this
It's crazy because Governor De Santis was inviting them to come to Miami. Tell them we were open for business. Now that you have called the worst people, you have heavy security. 😅😅😅😅
Law abiding citizens are all welcome.
It was only one demographic that was causing ALL of the chaos. I'm sure Ron didn't want them to come
They are racist Cubans, they just don't want Black people.
@@stud6414 You can’t generalize and say that it’s everyone of a certain demographic. Not all black people are trouble makers. The ones that are doing the right thing and not bothering others are not shown on the news. It’s the ghetto acting people that are causing the trouble.
Love it ….. way to go Miami Beach ….. best beach improvement project yet …. I haven’t seen anyone rubbing their dirty ass on the street or sidewalk this year …. what’s it called, twerking ? … so much cultural enrichment
Spring break got so bad in Daytona Beach, the sheriff took control over the beach side from the city!😮
i lived in daytona in the 90s when they killed spring break. it never got as bad as what has happened in miami. not even close. hell, i used to go beachside during black spring break and while they got rowdy and raised hell and there were gun charges , it still was nothing like today's kids.
Thanks for the video !
Miami ain’t playing 😂😂. I wonder if they will do this every year 🤔
I hope
The city of my birth makes me proud!!
Thank you Miami!!! 🌴 🏝️🔥👍
That's awsome!!!! Great job miami!!! Oh and for the rest of you.....THIS IS CALLED BEING CIVIL
Excellent work, Joel!
Banning all spirit airlines flights from Baltimore and Philadelphia to Miami will solve their problems real quick
LOL!! On the floor LOL!!
And Detroit+Memphis.
Add Chicago and Atlanta to that list
Thow in DesMoines, Billings, Cedar rapids, and Boston, and you got a deal!😂
😂😂 you are right on!!
I freaking love that FL is doing this!!
I'm so glad our Governor is taking action to keep us Floridans safe! Enough is enough. We can't just go to their state and destroy it, so they shouldn't be allowed to do it here.
They're going to try to come here to Tampa but hopefully, we have the same tactics in place here!!
Don’t nobody wanna go to crackhead Tampa
Yeah maybe next they’ll clean up the crime that lives here to make it safer and clear all the illegal immigrants out 🤣
@@vlong5710That would be great.
@@vlong5710 Lol, you'd crash the state's real economy doing that. The crooks keep the prison full and the overtime rolling. The "illegals" do all of the dead end jobs for all of the snowbirds and multi generational Cuban business owners.
Tampa still isn't a party location, you'd have to drive all the way to St. Pete and even then, it's not that bad

People are tired of the bullshyt. Every adult was once young and understand having fun and blowing off some steam.
That said, there is a world of difference between letting lose and being a giant disrespectful nuisance to everybody who lives where you are visiting.
Mexican authorities were warning spring breakers to NOT come to Cancun due to active cartel battles.
This is a practice run for something bigger to come
Oh shut up
Love it! Miami is too beautiful for it to be destroyed by animals from other states during certain parts of the year. I still wanna know where those animals are going now though.
Calling humans animals is dehumanizing.
@@kareemdaking5145 I didn't. I called animals "animals."
@@kareemdaking5145 acting like an animal is also dehumanizing
Those "animals" bring money to the city and its businesses like hotels, bars, nightclubs and restaurants and they're also responsible for keeping the city's fame alive
The tourism industry has its flaw but you still gotta reconsider your choice of words there
@@gamerboyx8243actually its a known fact they do not bring money to the city, where are you making this up from?? the amount in costs for cleanup and security and a thousand other things is wayy more than the little money spring breakers bring, miami is not struggling without them.
thank you for sharing!!
Them ninjas really fed stuff up.
Great video bro. Unfortunately I approve what the police are doing for years south Beach has turned in to a dump specially during spring break. Time to clean up the city and get all this bad people to stop coming to our beautiful South Beach.
Love it.
I’m officially old. My spring break was when Freaknik (ATL) & Black College Week in Daytona and other places was a thing. The shit we did with no curfews , no crackdowns and no social media. Were epic!
Was it filled with crime and chaos?
Freaknik was wild back in the day but not what you saw in Miami during the pandemic
It’s about damn time ! The beach has never been the same for the past 10 years! I live 20 minutes away and haven’t been able to enjoy south beach since then !
Great job 🎉
Great reporting. Very comprehensive.
Enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work!
Danm they aren’t playing
I followed you on Twitter for years! Glad you’re making videos now !!
It looks great! Next weekend is the TRUE test! Lol
The sidewalk dining was completely ravaged by the ghetto, hip hop , 7th grade drop out, invaders dining and dashing leaving restaurant owners with $1,000s of dollars of losses. It’s not the true college kids ruining spring break.
😂😂😂😂😂
Rickenbacker Causeway. You bring back fond memories and you are exactly correct. I think this year is a correction and next year the outside cafés might return. They’re just getting an unsavory problem under control and telling criminals they don’t rule the streets in Miami Beach.
I agree completely. A lot of unsavory characters who live in and around Miami come out to "party" on South Beach during Spring break. It's not the visiting college students who are causing the problems; it's the locals.
You're an incel.
KFC people ruining everything. They be really happy in haiti where criminals rule the land. Maybe we should give them a ticket straight to beautiful haiti.
It's about GD time !!!
Great job Miami! Greetings from Orlando.
Spring break is so ridiculous anyhow should just get rid of it
Great commentary. I subscribed so I can watch the rewl Miami action 😊
I LOVE it!!!
If you keep the hood out everything is fine
It looks awesome.. nice and orderly for decent people to enjoy themselves
Hopefully the business in downtown will reap the benefits
I think there will be some short term pain, but the money made these two weekends versus the reputation gained for the entire year ..it's worth getting rid of the bad actors. The amount of business South Beach has lost to Coral Gables and Coconut Grove because of the issues/violence/bad behavior here is mind boggling and will take a long time after we regain control to get people excited about Miami Beach again.
What benefit. There are no customers 😅😅😅😅😅
Nice reporting. Love this guy's style.
I celebrated spring break in highschool back in the late 90s and it was lit. Can't imagine what would make it so bad that normal spring break hot spots are turning people away.
Are you telling us you've been in a coma since the 90's? There's tons of video, if you really want to know.
This is how you keep your City safe.
Good job!
Not emptiness, but no darkness. Long overdue. Take back the city, now do this at every beach.
No darkness? Are you saying no dark skin people?
@@kareemdaking5145 I think he's referring to culture. No one has an issue with dark skinned conservatives.

Black Bahamians and Black migrants built Miami. You people are so disrespectful.

Wow! Just found your channel with this video. Keep up the good work.
I went to Miami around the spring of 2019. It was out of control, and I had to get out of there. Shootings, Stampede's, dirt bikes on the street, & car chases. They had to eventually declare a state of emergency in Miami.
Looks like the city and businesses will make just as much money as before. No cleanup costs and no riff raff losses.
Very nice strategy.....salute
Awesome!
Appreciate the unbiased reporting. Good things like having fun and supporting a local area with tourism gave way to complete chaos, would love to see some type of middle ground where people can party but still respect each other.
Miami will happily bus spring breakers to other states.
About time they stopped the madness.
It's about time.
Will this continue into April? Was planning on the 42nd street garage (G6) in early April not being $100!!
I wonder how the business owners feel about the change.
This is an interesting video Joel. Are you going to make another video 03/23 when Dade and Broward has their Spring Break? Have a good one!
Thanks. I’m planning to make one this upcoming weekend when it’s usually the busiest of the month. That, in my opinion, will be the real test of these measures. As for the weekend of March 23, I may still check it out since it’s not a hassle for me to get down here
@@JoelFrancoVlogs Sounds good. Yeah it should be interesting. I'm looking forward to it.
I read somewhere they said Florida is trying to breakup with spring breakers but they're not getting the hint 😂😂😂
wow, about time...
I enjoyed partying during spring break back in the day, and I don't have a problem with kids having fun during these times. Yea, there were rowdy crowds and sometimes fights inside clubs, which security took care of. But, these kids nowadays don't know how to have fun. If you fight, okay, it happens, but you live and learn. These kids are afraid to get a beating and are so quick to pull out a weapon. I'm glad I grew up when times were different.
Maybe they don't want people there!!!?!
Good on Miami!!!
In the end, where did you park at and how much was it?
I was in Miami yesterday for the first time. Not here for spring break, but this crackdown is interesting to me. Inspiring. Good for law and order to prevail over jack-a$$ery.
But I would like to know- what was it that made them do this?
Look up "Miami spring break," then watch the madness. I honestly don't blame them.
Finally
Good for south beach
Awesome.
Is that going to affect local business that depends on tourism?
Businesses must be loving this ha
Fantastic 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼….. great work Miami Beach, state of Florida , and police …. get that trash and junior high drop-outs OUTTA THERE!!! And they can take the $5 they each were going to spend ( maybe … unless they could dine n’ dash ) and the weed they were going to smoke and or sell with them …. good riddance
I bet the businesses lost so much money .
If I had a parking garage in the area I'd be charging 500
That’s only 20 a person if you take 5 people in a car 🤷♂️
That's their whole budget for the trip.
Yeah now they will complain about nobody being there
I’m glad I had my fun on south beach in my 20’s. Good luck New gen
Miami forgetting it’s draw (originally) is a bold decision.
9:12 Interesting that the panic alarm on that car seemed to mute itself as it became clear I guess to the car's system that it was getting towed.
nice 😊
I haven't been to spring break ever because of the wild people acting reckless, hopefully now I can go and have a good experience!
I usually solo travel to Miami around this time, choose Isla verde beach PR this year for a week. Less partiers, cheaper food, and drinks don't cost an arm and a leg. a poolside beer is 5$ Versus 10 to 15 at many places in Miami beach
Imagine spending money on vacation just to destroy property, and get wasted.
Wonder if those barricades are city owned or if some company is getting rich renting them for a few weeks 24/7.
