I havent seen this vid before, but anything with Lee just talking about anything historical or musical or arcane and occult interests, i am always very entertained as i grew up as a little kid watching his horror and supernatural movies and i always enjoy hearing him speak on various subjects.
      Im always still so amazed at his work and interests in Metal music. I mean, i guess it shouldnt be surprising really, but i knew he was into baroque and classical symphonic music, it is just funny.
      All his major characters he has portrayed even into his elder years were always great to see that he could keep being relevant and working in genres that interested him.

    As a historian I am amazed that Christopher Lee was related to the Emperor Charlemagne. As a music fan (though I often don't take to metal) I appreciate his dedication to his art. As a film lover I can say with confidence this is a man who never phoned in a performance. Here is someone who took life to its fullest potential and still amazed us until the end. A world without this man is a duller world, but at least we can appreciate his legacy.

    • @astralax
      @astralax 9 лет назад +79

      +T Kent Why are you amazed? Millions of people are related to Charlemagne, it's not hugely surprising given the timescale. You double your ancestors with every generation, and (given ~30 years per generation) Charlemagne was 40+ generations ago. That gives a number of ancestors greater than the amount of people who have ever lived. So your odds of having some Charlemagne in there are pretty high. You should know that, as a historian.

    • @Chronologger
      @Chronologger 9 лет назад +49

      +Jack I'm pretty sure Christopher Lee is more of a direct descendant of Charlemagne, as in the family tree doesn't branch off very much leading to Christopher Lee's birth. Lee's family bears 80-90% of Charlemagne's coat of arms.

Here, Christopher Lee is not acting but rather appearing as himself. Therefore, how he appears in this featurette is unrelated to how the Jedis had responded to the "Count Dooku" character in the Star Wars prequels.

    Indeed, an ancient man of history, both a living relic and in his own right, still a complete badass. You cannot deny the rich and vivid history that this man has gone through, having more experience in the world than possibly all of us combined. A man to certainly be revered and respected.... And he has embraced metal with open arms! Shocking to say the least, even more that he has made it merge with classical music perfectly.

    Christopher Lee is awesome. First saw him in a made for tv 'Treasure Island' when I was a kid. Wasn't the best movie but his performance as Blind Pew was chilling. I've been a fan of his ever since. Btw, he's been in more movies than any other actor.

    Sir Christopher Lee was always a rock star, in my book. As far as him being an old man, when this old man tells someone, ''Get off my lawn!'' You can bet, they got off his lawn! Rest In Peace.

    "Music... music. We call it symphonic metal"
    Oh how I love these sweet words. The magic of the wizards dream is amazing. I prefer female fronted metal though. I love Epica, Nightwish, Tristania and all the rest... but Christopher Lee is my favourite actor. I love his characters. This is awesome. Lee is both a gentleman and a real bad ass!
