OMG!! 😉 Renee...what treasures!! It would be so interesting to find out what became of the author of all the school work! Some of the drawing images would make great Halloween T's!! Lol! What Fun!! TFS!! 💖😊💖 You did Good!! 👌💖 The child creations are adorable...the giant headed Robin was absolutely darling!! I laughed so hard. You showed the Halloween pumpkins, I still have my crayon drawings from 1st grade witches, ghosts, spiders, you name it. I'm so glad my Mother saved them! Looks like the same paper too! I framed them up and display them every year!! Lol! 😉
!963...the year I started my interest in many vintage things...It started when my folks and I visited Hearst Castle..."The Enchanted Hill"! It was meant for you, not the auction! When the estate sales were going strong, I saw so many old family photos/albums in the recycling pile! Rather sad, nobody wanted them! Long before youtube...now, I would nave taken them and send them off to you! Many photos were OLD! Those quaint Childhood artworks bring back memories of my "little boy" days! A great look at someone's past!
Speaking of going back to auctions-When I was little in the early 50's, my mom use to go to the local auction, and take us along! I have not thought of this in years, but she purchased an old Windsor chair for .75, and I have it now- there was also an old brass cash register (I bet a National) that was going for .75 also, and guess which one WE wanted? I have one now, but I still remember that auction, cold, and burning a fire in a big old barrel, gloves, hats, and MY MOM, who is gone now. Thanks for making me recall that special memory! Take care, Be safe, Keep Junking!
OMG. The drawings were awesome. I don't know what I liked the best. They bird with the big head made me laugh out loud. His other bird friends were cute too. They would be cute on a t-shirt. Thanks for the memories.
Hi. Renee. I love this video. All the beautiful things you found in the trash look great. God Bless you Renee. Take care. Stay Blessed. Maria.💁🖐️💁🖐️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💗💗💗💗💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
The bunny is awesome! I found an Easter treasure today as well...cute trinket/candy box of Mama Rabbit pushing a bassinet of baby Bunnies! There must be 15 in there! Happy Weekend/Junking/Hunting👍💐
Loved Anne's artwork! My grandkids produce tons of artwork and I have a tote full already. You can't possibly keep it all, but it sure is hard to let go. Glad you found hers!
Oh my goodness! Memory blast from the past with the stack of Weekly Reader Surprise pamphlets -- 1950's 1st grade came flooding back to me! Thank you, Renee.
Present the school notebook, filled with comprehensive notes to students today and you would get a blank stare back at you. Many would be unable to read cursive handwriting. This high school course would qualify you for your masters today, and the grading was not subject to being on a generous curve. There. Now get off my lawn.
Absolutely! Is it signed or is there a name that you can research? Wouldn't it be awesome to talk with the person and share the pictures and get a first hand history?
I'm so glad you looked in the trash. So many awesome finds and how cool there were so many holiday pictures. What a great score. Thank you for taking the time to share with us. I got inspired with a few of those school projects to do with my little one now ❤
You missed the seal that was with the bear and the pinguin! I also love the old note books, have a couple saved my dad had years ago. The weekly readers are so lovely!! So much fun stuff!
Wow Renee, I wish I had saved all my stuff. Back then I just didn't know the personal value in these things. When I was a freshman in highschool, I learned to type on a manual typewriter. I could type 90 words a minute. That would get me an A.
Really enjoyed this! My mom saved some of my artwork and school papers from when I was little, and I treasure them. I've done the same for my two kids; hope they appreciate them and remember what joy they brought to me. Love that you care so much about local history - that phone book is a treasure!
Great old photos you saved! My favorite was the Weekly Readers! That brings back lots of memories from first grade on Weekly Readers, SRA boxes of stories, and the Book Mobile !! 💖💖💖 The artwork was all spectacular too👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💗
When I was in the 3rd grade, the very first day of school we had a wonderful teacher. She met us with her puppet. We were all so happy to have her. I don’t even remember how many days we had her. Or her name. But only days later, she was never to be seen again. She had tuberculosis. We were all tested. And of course the adults were all freaked out. I, on the other hand, wanted to know where she went. How she was. Could we get her back? We never heard. The replacement teacher wasn’t nearly as nice, fun or kind. I can’t even rememberer name. The next year I was hopeful for a new fun teacher. But we got Mrs. Olson. She was an older lady. A cold fish that looked like she was straight out of the 1940’s. I still remember her red lipstick. In the 4th grade we learned penmanship in addition to spelling. I’d been writing with a pen for years by then. But you NEVER got to use a pen until you got 100% on spelling. (She dictated to us, and we got to use a pen for dictation the next week.) Maybe this is why I became a good speller? I didn’t think it was right but I sure learned to get 100% on my spelling.
Those teacher 'gems' are hard to come by! Even today, there are many in education that shouldn't be (I work in Education, & witness it daily). I've always said that the fields of Education & Medicine are two that just because someone CAN pass the curriculum, doesn't mean they SHOULD be practicing in that discipline 👍💯
Recipes, I have thousands but I still get more give the chance. And the school papers well they are just adorable! I am glad you found them and shared them with us. Stay safe! ❤
I have my great grandma’s recipe book that included info for the well-being of the family including first aid. There’s even a drawing of a cow from my mom. My mom lived with her grandma during hard times in the late 20’s and 30’s because her grandma had a farm. I gave the book to my daughter!
I Love hearing when Renee get so Happy when she found a treasure. Love her sincere heartfelt laughter. She enjoys the things she found in the trash, that other people would not even look at. She is so happy with just the simple things in life. I sure Love her and her channel. Renee keep up the great work you do.
This is my favorite video of all of your videos!!! I think you should frame the pilgrim picture and the downtrodden blue bird picture. Thanks so much for share this!!!
From an aged friend… don’t dwell on, but save your woulda’s, coulda’s, shoulda’s for the future. Stepping stones to being the best you can be❣️. 🤗💕🦋 (And, you’re pretty spectacular already‼️)
I love this video! What a bounty of wonderful paper you have found (and it was free!) Everything from employment records and safety investigations related to workplace accidents/incidents to ephemera about community activities, then someone's accumulated school work history starting in kindergarten/primary grades through advanced courses as a teenager and young adult. And lest I forget mentioning seeing the series of issues of "My Weekly Reader", which was my most favorite thing to read when I was attending kindergarten through second grade in NY in the mid 1950s. (I don't remember "Zip and Nip"; it's hard to make out the date on my tablet's screen, but it appears your copies are from a later time period.) And the young girl's artwork, and the bunny is so precious. What a treasure.
Junk journal peeps like me love all the paper stuff…just need to let us know where we can purchase it….eBay or Etsy or on your website…add a link for them in your videos it makes buying so easy for us…love the paper💕
What an interesting collection of paper items you found on the curb. We have a bunch of recipes left from my grandmother written on envelopes and other scraps of paper. Transferred then all but kept the originals in her hand writing
those kids art pieces were wonderful! The black cat, the pumpkin with button eyes and a skewed mouth! precious! I could smell the tempera fingerpaint as soon as i saw it! I used to get the weekly readers too.
I loved this video. Never thought I'd be engrossed in paperwork from an old steel plant, but I was. Anne Brady made some great artwork. I'd love to know what she's doing now.
Anne's crafts are precious and can be admired again! My three children (42 - 55) hated crafts and hurried through the process, but I saved lots of stuff anyway which needs to be gone through one more time.
I think you did so good with this little bag of stuff! And so nice of Anna to make you such very very cute decorations! Just priceless. Was great. ❤️💞💞🐩🐤🐦🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🎶🎶🎶🐈✌️👶
Don’t know why but I enjoyed this video tremendously! Maybe seeing how much you enjoyed finding the stuff Some of the paintings like the little hand pilgrims and the bird ones I really liked, I would frame them and hang them on the wall. I have an interest In outsider art, I used to buy bird paintings off this mentally disabled girl I knew, really had a great look and she would sell them to me for $2.50 each and I put them in my kitchen The woman that took care of her told me I didn’t have to pay her since they didn’t need the money but I kept buying it because she enjoyed being a professional artist as she said. I gave away some of it to a woman that I was fooling with that was an Art Dealer that specialized in Outsider Art. She had a double sided Henry Darger painting in her bedroom !
From the intro I thought you had reuploaded but I see now this is part two! Thank you. It looks like that person was studying to be a doctor or a nurse.
This was an amazing find and a joy to watch. I love how you get excited over these things. And rightfully so. I am glad they went home with you and didn't end up in the trash. The bunny was cute.
Oh Rene I loved the rabbit 🐇 that was made with the moveable arms and legs.. we used to do those back in the day when I was in school.. I am 56 so the early 70’s were great.. loved this video brought back so many great memories ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I love finding old paper. I still have plastic bags full of old magazine recipes my mother saved for decades. I am ssaving things up to have an ephemera sale at some point. Love that you rescue so much paper stuff.
I really enjoyed this there was such a mix of things wouldn't it be great if Anne came across this. The artwork was great the black bird with paper reinforcements for eyes. Thos little magazines were lovely. I wondered if Taco would like the Olympic pamphlet. Glad you saved the photos from the trash.
Anne's drawings were a hoot, especially the heavy headed bird! 🤣 👍👍👍👍
I would display the Thanksgiving picture on the holiday. It's the best, from the beauty of a child. Just lovely.
OMG!! 😉 Renee...what treasures!! It would be so interesting to find out what became of the author of all the school work!

The Thanksgiving pic and he snowman are the best, so far. Totally adorbs. A loving mommy probably saved all of those items that Ann did.
Anne's drawings ....love them! The little hands!! The birds lolololol! Great score!!

Those pieces of art work need to be framed. Love the thanksgiving one.
Love all the typed and handwritten ephemera. I'm always on the lookout for this type of stuff.
That was truly worth the save. One person's trash is another's treasure! Some great items. 👍😎👍

My mom wrote recipes on little scraps of paper. I have them all tucked in one of her cookbooks. All of that paper is wonderful for junk journals!
I saw an etsy shop that took your old hand written recipes and printed them on tea towels. I thought it was a nice way to preserve them.
my Grandad was a supervisor at Bethlehem steel and Us Steel in the 60's and 70's. he retired in 1982! would love to have that book!!!!
Not gonna lie. The thumbnail had me thinking someone threw away a perfectly good cat.
Great find. So glad you checked the trash. Who would think it would be full of goodies!
Treasures of yester year saved ,great find and articles of art can live on .Enjoyed thanks.

i love making junk journals and yes every little scrap of paper you have there would happily be used ... well done for spotting and saving it all...
You will have to research Anne and see if she is still around. Wouldn't it be fun to find her and give her some of those back!!
