Until they are held accountable for there bad decisions, or at least made to explain them, these bad decisions will keep coming, either corruption or incompetence.
It's typically British that they don't hold accountability and just say deal with it. No responsibility, dishonesty - VAR was brought in for clear and obvious. They spend time looking for reasons to disallow goals, millimetre offsides, looking for reasons to send people off in skirmishes, just get rid of it. It was more understandable when it was just a human decision. This is SKY's fault for scrutinising everything
By the way with De Ligt how is that a pen but the other teams aren't given pens or freekicks and why wasn't Darwin Nunez sent off with a 5 match red card ban against De Ligt

With the Spurs v Newcastle one, if it had been on the goal line and stopped a goal and cleared it would be hand ball and a penalty (I guess). So you have the same offence but a different ruling, one would stop a goal the other leads to a goal at the same time stopping an attack that would have changed the whole play. Why not bring in the same law as if when it hits the ref unchallenged drop ball for accidental hand ball (or a corner in the penalty area).
The concept of VAR is brilliant. Unfortunately, and we've seen this time and time again, the officials are shocking. I've no issue with mistakes being made by the officials on the pitch. Football fans can live with that. However, not just game to game but even in games, there's inconsistency. That is either deliberate bias with selective use of VAR or incompetence. For years, officials have been criticised for knowing the laws of the game but not how to interpret them. PGMOL are complicit, simply because they do not fix this. Goal line technology has been a major boon to the game but VAR hasn't. People will say that, for offside decisions, you're either onside or offside. However, when you are using magnification at a ridiculous level, it's not a clear or obvious error. Technically, that big toe creates offside but the law was changed to benefit the attacking side. That positive change is completely void, now, and the benefit goes back to the defending team. Additionally, accidental handball should not be punished. You may as well stop the game because the ball bounces, awkwardly, from a divot.
When Arsenal played Nottingham Forest, last season, Ben White was headed into by a Forest player. He didn't get a free kick and it was deemed a clash of heads, nothing more. Saliba does the same thing a year later and it results in a penalty. FFS refs/VAR, either all those incidents or none of those incidents are foul play. It's like they play to their biases not their common sense.
Decisions made by the ref & those on var are not bothered about getting it right, they make their decisions based of which team it is, as a utd fan I've seen some ridiculous Decisions which highlight the bias from the officials & that's why they can't get it right.
@PaulC-ov1un Why are you making it trible if we as fans don't get together and call out the PGEMOL it will NEVER CHANGE. That's what they do if we fans are fighting against ourselves then we are not fighting them.
Its a fantasy that var can decide subjective decisions in football In some sports fouls are fouls, and there is no dispute In football, there is too much subjective nature to decisions, for technology to help decide what is a foul or not Told you from start, techs should only be used on decisions where its an absolute or not. That means ball going over the line, goal being scored, or offside Ai and var can be used to work out what is an offside call, as offside is an absolute thing. A ball crossing the goal line is an absolute thing A football player handballing something is never an absolute, for a foul or penalty there should be intent to stop the ball with the hand. Such decisions cannot be determined by techs, as they are subjective, and refs did better before var on right in the moment deciding what is a foul or not. Humans in football cheat, and teams like england use var to cheat to get penalties that should not be penalties Look at the penalty england got against holland in last years semis in euros, even gary neville the england fan boy said it was never a penalty Holland were cheated out of that game, they were 1-0 at the time.
Watch var overturn konates tackle on martinelli earlier this year Same difference in challenges and we lost 2 points cause they called it one way then we lost another 2 points cause they decided the other way
Problem is that most decisions aren't black or white they're all subjective. Because I think the Wolves player is quite obviously trying to move his arm out the way. It's not an easy one
That saliba penatly was not a penalty, also, that saliba penalty was a penalty. Ref got it wrong, he also got it right! There is no wrong or right because they are both technically correct decisions! Arsenal fan fyi
He's the same with opposing teams of Scotland... if you placed any faith in his opinions whilst commentating on Rangers or Scotland, then Sotland would be celebrating a World Cup trophy and Rangers would be cleaning up in Europe.
Even without var these people will still complain. Var needs a name change. It's just another ref making a decision. Refs been making bad calls and missing calls since forever. No one is ever satisfied.
@@yorygibson-rc1lw VAR hasn't made it worse. The refs always been making bad calls. Yall just went along with it because there was no system at the time to check. For the life of me I can't understand how a linesman can see an offside from 20 yards away with multiple players in the way. I'm not saying they always make the wrong call. I'm just saying that sometimes they guess. So it's not VAR, it's just people being used to crappy calls all their lives and being okay with it.
@@Jinx-ig1fz I get your point I the same but the way Howard Web has set VAR worse why don't they mic up the ref's like they do in rugby it because if they did the ref's could cheat and spoil games that say end to end and a ref's give a red card to a team in the first half. Then the team that has to defend for there lives a game of football ruined for what it piss me off lol
Referees should be as physically fit as the players they officiate. All match officials should be full time only and they should spend their time away from matches undergoing fitness training and professional classroom work. For operating in this way they should be paid VERY handsomely. If they make a mistake that contravenes a written rule they should lose points on a licence and once all points are lost their licence is revoked permanently, because they don’t have what it takes to make pressure decisions. In other words professional referees should become completely professional and accountable whilst being remunerated properly for their time and commitment.
As fan whi dislikes the Gunners I have to admit that was a terrible desicion for the penalty. Also they had Rice and Trossard sent for 2nd yellows for perceived stopping a freekick or time-wasting yet those laws dont exist anymore. So there is just zero consistency and accountabilty.
They’ve been allowed to get bigger and bigger , not better and better , you have at least 11 people watching the game and making decisions … Ffs it was better and easier with 1 referee and 2 linemen … We got to this point because of a couple of winging managers , now we have loads of winging managers ….
Until they are held accountable for there bad decisions, or at least made to explain them, these bad decisions will keep coming, either corruption or incompetence.
The more incompetence there it leaves the door open for corruption so it suits the powers that be regardless

Var is only bad in England.
By the way with De Ligt how is that a pen but the other teams aren't given pens or freekicks and why wasn't Darwin Nunez sent off with a 5 match red card ban against De Ligt

It's half bad refs and half stupid rules. The full game and law book needs a full revamp it's a total mess right now
They (refs and VAR) have killed the game!

it was 3-0 not 2-0
Moaning about var not doing there jobs, they can’t even get the score right
Brighton penalty was correct decision!!
It was I can’t believe they are not letting it go and move on stonewall penalty .
If you get the ball first and your trail leg then hits the player it’s a not a pen surely? Though this guy was a ref?
Spot on Jeff, they are not fit for purpose, they don't have the mentality or personality for the job.
They should mic up the ref's or just get rid of VAR all together.
They won't though will they.
Forest *did* win 3-0 🤷♂ Perhaps you meant 4-0 would have impacted the table, but it still wouldn't as Wolves have scored more goals than Ipswich.
Yes .and they footy top bloke come on boys scores right😅
If head on head collision for a contest for the ball is considered a penalty then there will be a penalty on almost every corner ... Muppets
He wasnt in a united kit thats what VAR was looking for circa de ligt, Romero it wasnt given

Absolutely spot on I have seen so many dodgy decisions given to loserpool and you can be certain if they are losing they will get a penalty

Wolves had it bad last season lost about 9 points to the ref's witch should never happen it ruined loads of end to end exciting games
Its ok, its Only Arsenal and we all make mistakes, week in week out.
Always liked Mark Halsey. Seemed to do an alright job . Cheers
VAR Should be run by ex pros, they know the rules and they’ve been there and done it…

Ally hates spurs all ways have done bias

They all voted to keep it bar Wolves.
Best players Best manager's from around the world yet refs linesmen var that are not upto the job

Never a pen
Incorrect saliba got the ball first then it was an accidental clash of heads.
Idiot stelling

Handball not natural position at the Spurs game leading to a pass, intercepted by a hand, sorry Newcastle fans.😅
Have spurs fans learnt the handball rules yet?
😂😂
