I woudlnt say thats the case. The dice power ups seem to have a time limit so last transformation probably expired. The flute is just probably the base conduit for the power ups.
Personally i really like the nice balance between Magic and Science in this show you have lots of background stuff that explains what a M.A.G.E. is revealing stereotypical magic stuff is more of a science than literal magic namely shown with the echo rods powers being explained as able to affect things on the molecular level in order to move them instead of just using "magic" to do it while at the same time you have the more literal magic objects that do things with minimal explanation like Karotos dice roll being somehow connected to the musical weapon he uses similarly so with the Layline Lycan and Grandmas house you have a magical creature comprised of electricity and is able to possess appliances yet we have litteral appliances and Circuit breakers and not just magic maguffins that do the same thing its just really amazing how much detail there is for the balance and depth to this world with no need for crazy exposition it's all in the background should you choose to look as well as essentially just shown through the action so theres no interrupting the plot for some long winded explanation of something the characters already know but the audience doesn't
