A fantastic example of the villain point-of-view topic is DEATH NOTE. It’s mostly from Light’s point of view and I don’t know anyone who didn’t sympathize with both Light (evil) and L (justice). In fact, some viewers may even consider L as the villain. OR, at one point in the story the same viewer may view both as villain and hero at different points in the story. The switch in perspective may come when the viewer wakes up and realizes, “oops, was I rooting for the evil one just now?” They forget because villain and hero is in us all and we relate to both.
OMG!! That was exactly my thought when he talked about it.!! I did get through the first 2 books of the series. But I lost all my interest in the 3rd book... Not only was it,"Bad things happening all the time." It was the flashbacks and current timeline way of the book. I just couldn't get into any of the plotlines... Neither the flashback nor the current...
The clapping at the nuclear disarmament converns me... it directly followed the notion of a change in the balance of power... I assume those clapping are americans for obvious reasons, and while I am not a fan of nuclear weapons or any weapons of mass destruction, the americans would be the losers in that power shift... the clappers do realize this, don't they?
Greate Panel, Paolini seems to have improved very much as an author
How do you know this? His last book was published in 2011
Maybe more accurately is he's matured as a person and as a storyteller with a genuine understanding and interest in more complex themes/ideas.
Hopefully eragon was a tough read
man i love Paolini, I really need to get into his newer stuff.

Light is the Hero
I wonder if Paolini was talking about Jorg and The Broken Empire series when the host asked about the villain question
