How in any universe do you find Guthrie Govan 'very boring'? He can speak through his guitar boundlessly. He makes Nick, and all other guitarists for that matter, appear flat in their musical vocabulary. I find Johnston somewhat lackluster - but neither of the two 'very boring'.
