Americans aren't aware of the Dutch American history. The British have banned it all for centuries. The American Declaration of Independence has been inspired by the Dutch declaration of independence in de plakkaat van verlatinge from 1581. NL is the most underrated country in my opinion.

9:39 You don't need the power of the sun, and you don't need the entire frequency spectrum that the sun outputs. You just need a couple of light frequencies to let plants grow. And LED's are perfect for emitting light at specific frequencies. Don't bother with the rest of the visible spectrum, that's just a waste of energy.

There are 3 colored LED in a grown lamp, special led that send out some light colors of the sun that are helpful to a plant while cutting out the harmful ones.
    white light, to live on.
blue light makes a plant grown, because it thinks it's spring time, but we control how big the plant gets, by clipping it to make a small plant that makes lots of crop, you don't need a huge plant to produce a huge crop. look at the tomato in the video thinny plant lots of tomato's
Red light is the signal for a plant to bloom, so we can control when a plant blooms.

  • @fredschepers5149
    @fredschepers5149 Год назад +2

Tbh... The facts in the video don't lie.
No need to question them. Just research facts and figures and be amazed.
Many of the subjects had a nasty history. Something the Dutch nowadays accept and understand and are able to use for the better. They are not like that anymore. But at the times, centuries ago, the foundation was layed by the Dutch East India Company VOC. A company with a value greater than today's Apple, Microsoft and Amazon combined.
The Low lands or Netherlands didn't get there by dancing on cloggies while handing out tulips. And it didn't stop developing 3, 4 or 500 years ago. It kept innovating. Dozens of important inventions but mostly using the gift of communication and working together brought it to one of the most important countries in the world. It's known for its food export and technology with ASML at the top of the world production nowadays. It's predominantly in the top 5 or leading in living standards like social safety nets, work/life balance, infrastructure, education, equal rights, and many other life influential conditions.
A complete different social culture than most countries can even comprehend. And it's for this that it's a powerhouse. Not sure if it's er will be the biggest or most powerful country in the world again, but it still got its hands, arms and shoulders in many, many countries including western civilised countries. From Dubai to New Orleans and from China to Africa.
It is an engineering powerhouse for sure. Top of the class in food production technology and without Dutch Super Chips, half the world would be brought to medieval times if the don't hook in with them.
Whatever happened in the past.... It only improved their diplomacy and (trade) interaction with the rest of the world. A shiitload of experience, sort of speak...
Brazil is known for its amazing football.. especially with a legend like Pele. But today's game in general is developed in the Netherlands by the legendary Johan Cruijf (especially in Spain where he introduced his kind of technical football which slowly conquered the world) with dozens of Dutch players being an ambassador in countries all over the world from US to Korea and from Turkey to United Kingdom, and for the last 40 years.
Maybe... You could check some videos of the Netherlands beginning with the history rather than jumping into the deep about a country you don't know that much... (No hard feelings!!! Just positive criticism!!!)
I do like it that you are open to learn about other things in the world... 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

There's a strict regulation on everything that has anything to do with the climate. Vertical farms are better then normal farms if you look at the climate aspect but they can be better. the goal is to make them more eco friendly by, for example, building them close by, of even in, a city. (transportation will be mostly to the shops in that city)They also want to reduce the plastic it takes to package them.
I assure you, we are not taking over the world by regulating food, we just want to eradicate hunger in the world.

Since RUclips tends to nuke posts that are edited to often I make a new one. About growing with LED lights: It is not about the strength of the light, it is about the spectrum. According to vendatu (why think of a text when it is available online right?)
Can plants photosynthesize with LED light?
Plants can do photosynthesis if the right spectrum of artificial light is provided, such as for indoor plants. This method is used to boost production to meet the demand. LEDs, or light-emitting diodes, are useful for this because they can mimic artificial light to ensure proper plant development without burning them.
Nasa uses LED to grow food in space :) And of course it is natural, the only difference with sunlight is heat. You don't need hot light for carrots and lettuce. I won't say there is no GMO food being grown of course but it is not a defining factor.
repeating points is basically strectching the run time, not so much a sign of artificial writing. You recognise artificial writing because it will always have a few lines that make no gawddang sense.
As for government involvement, besides lobbying for subsidies with the EU, they are basically slowing down the progress with stringent rules and regulations.
ASML: Your headphones, your Microphone, Your Monitor, PC, Washing machine, Camera, car... everything that has chips and isn't a cheap Chinese piece of crapola, wouldn't exist without ASML. Doesn't matter if it is Apple, Samsung, Nokia, Philips etc etc.

It is true The Netherlands is amongst the top 5 if not top 3 global food exporters. It switches some here and there and depends on what type of food you are looking at, but The Netherlands is at the very top.
Yes the country is named after its elevation level. Funny that it didnt seem mentioned but the land reclamation the Netherlands did 'unveiled' very fertile soil. It is quite unique in its composition and has helped the netherlands in becoming an agricultural super power. While the mild climate can be true the year round development of food is more so aided by scientifical progress and wasnt as true say 30 years ago.
Football is a lot more popular in europe than it is in The United States (soccer). In Europe its the football fans that cause riots when their favourite team doesnt win. Out of all European countries, The Netherlands might be most infamous for this. I barely know any straight Dutch men that dont watch football.
Thing about 'natural foods' is that they were never natural. The carrot used to be yellow or purple but the Dutch made it orange (back in the 1400~1500 to honor the king). If you look at a banana now and a banana from 500 years ago the amount of gene modification humans did to it makes it unrecognizable from how it used to be. Think of food today as having been edited by humans to be better. Like how people fear CRISPR (gene editing for humans) will become a popular thing soon. For plants however, this 'tampering' has only been beneficial. Vertical farms with LED lights dont need the sun. Its all the same to the plant. Plants dont really sleep. You're not harming a plant by 'not allowing it to sleep'.
Its a bit different for animals though. The nitrogen oxide problem is quite local as its less damaging for the global environment but the local environment seems to suffer. While farmers 'have to' reduce their livestock and such they been having to face more and more strict measures that make it too expensive to even be a farmer.
The Netherlands holds the most power over chips in a certain way. Being a key component, ASML practically gets to decide who develops and who doesnt (though its not that easy).

Nether is in Dutch Neder, what low means! It is not the Dutch government who criticize the stock farming. It is a policy from the EU. It is the big European country's who want to take over the economic from the Netherlands. Like they (EU/WEF) killed the most sustainable way of fishing (pulse fishing) in the world. The Netherlands is by name a low country, but for the last 4 years we are sliding in an abyss!

the technology may be interesting, but it's not widely used. The farmers still produce food the way they usually do. Implementing the new technology is very expensive though and because of all the rules they have to follow the farmers are more and more put in a corner they can't get out of. They have to invest a lot in their farms leading them in to a dept they can only get out of when the prices of their products are getting higher, but that's blocked by the supermarkets that rather pay less and import food from other countries.

    • @buddy1155
      @buddy1155 Год назад +1

In total cows consume (indirect) more CO2 as the produce, they eat grass and grass convert CO2 into fibres and cows convert those fibres very efficient into milk and meat.
And sure they breath out CO2 but that is way less then the grass convert.
You might be confused about nitrogen bonds... the Netherlands doesn't want them because they want to starve the grounds to keep the heath lands and swamps, nitrogen bonds make the ground fertile and you get forest.
Cows are not bad for nature, they are actually very good... only bad if the politics doesn't want forests. Especially the "progressive" political parties don't want change.

As long as you don’t have to work 2 or 3 jobs to live, like in the US, shame on you to complain about a country where you live in and where the government pays for your health, schools and income if you are jobless. We are one of the richest countries in the world where everybody get’s a chance. You just have to take it. Shame on you to be so disloyal to your home country. Things are much worse in other countries, even in the US. There is a reason why there are so many Americans moving over here. Because we are a great country. We don’t go bankrupt when we are sick, like in the US. Schools are free. Roads and infrastructure is one of the best in the world and many innovations come from our country. You should be proud of that.

There are many contradictions to the Netherlands. Other countries that have drained the wetlands, are restoring them for the climate because drained wetlands are a huge impact on CO2. With the decaying and rotting plants being covered with water there is a barrier to stop the gasses from being released/produced. Why they are re watering the wetlands. Many of the Dutch reclaimed lands are wetlands, so yes, we have innovations that could be looked at as good (land and space to built and live), but the same thing can also be seen with the let downs. The pro´s and the con´s. In my view in the long run the con´s outweight the pro´s.
Like the way we fight the water, dykes and dams, etc. You can't keep making them larger we are lacking the space to do that.
I can't wait for the shit to hit the fan, and face us with our hubris. Because thus far humanity still has not learned its lesson 300,000 years and we are messing up liveability on our only planet we can call home, like a parasite on the planet earth.

you obviously have NO knowledge of the Dutch history. And yes, LED lights with a certain Kelvin number are GROW lamps. We do NOT use antibiotics or hormones in food for cattle, where as the USA uses these chemicals in big numbers. Pesticides are not a thing in the Netherlands, we even use lady bugs to protect the vegetables. This is about growing vegetables in a sustainable way. Not cutting rainforests for palm oil.

All true. But this is because the people of the Netherlands historicaly rather put money toward protection from nature and poverty than putting money towards war. Only when trade got disrupted or others tried to dominate us have we turned to armed conflict. When we could we were neutral. We would rather invest in protection from the sea, the reclamation of land, the infrastructure, trade and food.
I think you catch us at a time when this is about to change. there is a mindshift happening here. With our new rightwing gouvernment will come more and more investments in religious ideology and world politics. ASML is being weaponised by America. Christian rightwing ideology is taking over here. And then there is the co2 bull. I know the environment is struggeling but this has very little to do with farming. It has to do with plastic pollution, oil industry pollution, war and the fact that mankind has been cutting down forrests for eons. Trees need co2. What we need is more nature and less paving. And if one animal species on tis planet should curb it's rate of reproduction it is humanity and none other. Human beings put out more co2 than all other mamals combined.
The social economic situation negate people seeing clearly. Peoples lives are too dependent on money and therefore constantly the wrong choices are made.
By the way those 30% of food that is wasted is wasted because it does't get sold. That is the only reason. If not for money and religion world hunger should not even be an issue.
On history, people cherrypick history for the parts they like and not the parts that matter. Our rate of reproduction is a direct effect of ideological wars in human history. the only way we see this elsewhere in nature is when creatures are near the bottom of the foodchain. But we historically have had to replace those lost in war. That is why religion condemns contraception and abortion. Our history as taught in schools is basicaly a colloction of halve truths, omisions, fantasy and shame, the exact sciences excluded. History teachers relay the narrative of the victors not hat actualy happened. As you are a teacher i hope you realise this. Canon is what is accepted, not what happened. All of the facts are tinted by religiousity and ideology. Evidence of things predating Abrahamic religions is and has been made to vanish, was destroyed or downplayed. Even now every discovery is hardfought and won. Egypt will only allow minimal digging for fear of the status quo changeing. Religions fear proof that speaks against them. It is a hot mess. We have discovered piramids all over the world sugesting a global civilisation right before ours. But very little funding is put into it and mostly only by enthusiasts.
This is my two cents on some things.
