I'm a Shia and I pray next to all Muslims, Sunni or Shia, as do all my friends and students at the Hawza. I have seen nothing but love and unity grow as a result. Of the nicest people I have met, some are Sunni and some Shia. I see the teachings of Rasulullah (pbuh) in both of their actions, whilst those who bicker and insult eachothers beliefs i've noticed tend to have bad akhlaq which I couldnt picture the Prophet appreciating. The people of hatred and division are few in number but shout the loudest. Their hatred will never spread to the people of intellect. May Allah accept the prayers of all Sunni and Shia and usher all those who struggled to keep the ummah unified as He commanded, through the gates of heaven. Sunni/ Shia Takfiris should think critically and forgo their previous brainwashing and re-enter the folds of Muslim unity. You have become the weakness of our ummah and easy tools of manipulation by the power-hungry and mischievous. When brothers disagree on an issue, that doesnt give them a reason to fight or disown one another. We are all Muslims, so as far as our Sunni brothers go, their success is our success, and our success is their success. We are one and the same.
I'm Sunni and I don't think there's anything wrong with this Salah. Difference of opinion is allowed in Islam. May Allah taala accept our Salah whether we are Sunni or Shia.

Shias are many types. The closer among them to Sunnis are the Zaydis of Yemen and Oman. According to Al-Azhar scholars, their fiqh is acceptable just as the 4 madhabs of Sunni. The second are the Twelver shias who are the majority in Iran. Their fiqh is attributed to Imam Ja'far Sadiq. But there are some extreme shias like Ismailis who think their current leader Agha khan is a divine person. They don't fast in Ramadan except on the 27th day etc. Alcohol is permitted for them. There are even worse kinds of Shias. For instance the Alawites of Syria (Bashar al Asad is an Alawi shiite) is an off-shoot of shiasim. The Yazidis, the Bahai, the Druze etc. were once Shia but became new religions. Shias are misguided in their belief, but some are worse than the other. Some are borderline acceptable. Allahu a'lam.

किसका झुठ कैसा झुठ पता नहीं और ना ही इच्छा है जानने की क्योंकि मैं जानता हूं, ये विज्ञान जानता है और कल दुनिया का बच्चा बच्चा जानेगा कि कोई ऊपरवाला नहीं है तो फिर सारी धार्मिक कवायद दुनिया के तमाम धर्मों की बेकार है । मानो या ना मानो तुम्हारी मर्जी । मैं भी पहले ऊपरवाले को मानता था, दुनिया के किसी भी आदमी से ज्यादा । लगभग 30 साल तक मैंने खोज की कि ऊपरवाला है भी या नहीं । मगर मेरी खोज कहती है कि कोई ऊपरवाला नहीं है । इंसान मरा और फाईल बंद । मरने के बाद कोई ऊपरवाले से किसी की मुलाकात नहीं होती । एक बड़े वहम के अलावा कुछ नहीं है ऊपरवाला । ऊपरवाले से कुछ भी हासिल नहीं होना है और ना हुआ है आज तक किसी को । विज्ञान अगर मना करता है ऊपरवाले को तो इसका मतलब ऊपरवाला नहीं है । विज्ञान कोई जनता का दुश्मन थोड़े ही हो जो झुठ बोलेगा । वो तो सच खोजता है ऊपरवाले का, और पाता है कि ऊपरवाला नहीं है बस । करते रहो बहस, बयानबाजी, तर्क कुतर्क, सवाल जवाब मगर ऊपरवाला जब विज्ञान को नहीं मिला तो मान लो वो किसी को नहीं मिलेगा, जानते हो क्यों, क्योंकि वो है ही नहीं । अगर ऊपरवाला वाकई में होता तो विज्ञान खोज चुका है या उसको अब तक । अब विज्ञान ही है सबसे होशियार, अक्लमंद, जीनियस और ऐसा उसने साबित कर दिया है ढेरों ढेर नये नये आविष्कार करके । अब मर्जी आपकी, आप मानों चाहे ना मानों ऊपरवाले को । मगर सच तो हमेशा एक ही रहा है, एक ही है और एक ही रहेगा और वो ये कि कोई ऊपरवाला नहीं है और ना ही कोई हम इंसानों के दुःख दर्द तकलीफों को कम करने वाला कोई ऊपरवाले जैसा कुछ है । कोई भी इंसान अगर ध्यान से कुदरत और सभी जीवों को देखें और उनकी तमाम बारीकियों को देखे तो वो पायेगा कि कोई ऊपरवाला नहीं है । विज्ञान की ये बात कि ऊपरवाला नहीं है कोई काट नहीं सकता है । धर्म गुरुओं को चाहिए कि वो आम जनता को ना समझाकर सिर्फ विज्ञान को समझाये कि ऊपरवाला है । तो सारी समस्या ही हल हो जाएगी । और फिर सब मानेंगे ऊपरवाले को । मगर शर्त ये है कि विज्ञान को बताओ ऊपरवाले के बारे में, आम जनता को नहीं । धर्म के नाम पर ढेरों खून बहा मगर ऊपरवाला किसी को नहीं मिला मगर विज्ञान ने बिना खून बहाये बता दिया कि ऊपरवाला नहीं है, नही है और कहीं भी नही है । सच कडवा ही होता है वो तो करेला और नीम पर बैठा होता है । सच को इस बात से कोई मतलब नहीं कि हम सभी इसांनो के दिमाग और दिल में क्या है वो तो अपनी जगह अटल है । सच तो कलेजा चीर कर रख देता है और दुनिया के आम लोगों को झुठं से तसल्ली मिलती है इसलिये झुठं के पीछे, धार्मिक नेताओं के पीछे या राजनैतिक नेताओं के पीछे आंख मूंदकर बिना सही गलत की खुद जांच किये चलते रहते हैं तो सच इसमे क्या करे उसको तो कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता । धर्म विषय नहीं है । विषय है ऊपरवाला, उस पर ही बात हो और डिबेट हो । लोग उल्टा कर रहे हैं और धर्म पर डिबेट कर रहे हैं । यहां ऊपरवाले का ही अता पता नहीं । विज्ञान कहता है ऊपरवाला नही है और सबुत देता है मगर धार्मिक गुरू कहता है ऊपरवाला है मगर सबुत नही दे पा रहा है । और ये ही वजह है कि ढेरो धर्मो के बावजूद भी दुनिया में हाहाकार मचा है और मचा रहेगा । ठंडे और बेहद ठंडे दिमाग से और पूरी गंभीरता से सोचो ऊपरवाला है या नही या फिर विज्ञान पागल है जो कहता है कि ऊपरवाला नहीं है । या फिर हमारे मानने और विश्वास करने से ऊपरवाला वजूद मे आ जायेगा । सो खोजो खुद फिर से सच क्या है और सच को सामने लाओ । विज्ञान चुनौती दे रहा और चुनौती को टालो मत और इसका सामना तो अब करना ही है ।
Looking at the comments made by our muslim brothers it is very clear that they have no knowledge about the way our beloved prophet, rasool,imam,guide,etc prayed and asked us to pray.what a pity.no wonder the muslims are massacred all over the world. There are 2 basic conditions for salah to be accepted 1.purity of intention.(ikhlaas) 2.the way of the prophet. For any ibadah to be accepted it should be performed the way practised and taught by our beloved prophet.you can never ever pray the way you want. For islam does not belong to us it belongs to ALLAH. And surely he has stipulated and defined how it should be prayed through his messenger. So please before you comment on an issue learn it thoroughly and then comment. Then it will be of benefit to the ummah.

It is permissible for Ahle Sunnah to pray like this however, according to Shia theology praying with your hands folded is impermissible.

I am a Sunni and I find no problem with the Shia way of performing prayer - the sensible ones amongst them pray behind us and I will not hesitate to pray behind one of them who is knowledgeable. In a hadith Narrated by Imam Bukhari on the Authority of Anas bin Malik, Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have."
There is no difference in the major aspects of the Shia / Sunni (Hanafi / Maleki / Shafi / Hambli / Salafi) prayer - Standing, Glorifying Allah, Reading from Fatihah and the Quran, Bowing, Prostating, Sending salutation to the Prophet SAW and finishing with Salaam!
Finally Allah says:
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.” [3:103]
“Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects - you, [O Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only [left] to Allah ; then He will inform them about what they used to do.” [6:159]
Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah ." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]."[3:64]

The differences are minor, which can be found in variety of fiqh anyway.

किसका झुठ कैसा झुठ पता नहीं और ना ही इच्छा है जानने की क्योंकि मैं जानता हूं, ये विज्ञान जानता है और कल दुनिया का बच्चा बच्चा जानेगा कि कोई ऊपरवाला नहीं है तो फिर सारी धार्मिक कवायद दुनिया के तमाम धर्मों की बेकार है । मानो या ना मानो तुम्हारी मर्जी ।
मैं भी पहले ऊपरवाले को मानता था, दुनिया के किसी भी आदमी से ज्यादा । लगभग 30 साल तक मैंने खोज की कि ऊपरवाला है भी या नहीं । मगर मेरी खोज कहती है कि कोई ऊपरवाला नहीं है । इंसान मरा और फाईल बंद । मरने के बाद कोई ऊपरवाले से किसी की मुलाकात नहीं होती । एक बड़े वहम के अलावा कुछ नहीं है ऊपरवाला । ऊपरवाले से कुछ भी हासिल नहीं होना है और ना हुआ है आज तक किसी को ।
विज्ञान अगर मना करता है ऊपरवाले को तो इसका मतलब ऊपरवाला नहीं है । विज्ञान कोई जनता का दुश्मन थोड़े ही हो जो झुठ बोलेगा । वो तो सच खोजता है ऊपरवाले का, और पाता है कि ऊपरवाला नहीं है बस । करते रहो बहस, बयानबाजी, तर्क कुतर्क, सवाल जवाब मगर ऊपरवाला जब विज्ञान को नहीं मिला तो मान लो वो किसी को नहीं मिलेगा, जानते हो क्यों, क्योंकि वो है ही नहीं । अगर ऊपरवाला वाकई में होता तो विज्ञान खोज चुका है या उसको अब तक । अब विज्ञान ही है सबसे होशियार, अक्लमंद, जीनियस और ऐसा उसने साबित कर दिया है ढेरों ढेर नये नये आविष्कार करके ।
अब मर्जी आपकी, आप मानों चाहे ना मानों ऊपरवाले को । मगर सच तो हमेशा एक ही रहा है, एक ही है और एक ही रहेगा और वो ये कि कोई ऊपरवाला नहीं है और ना ही कोई हम इंसानों के दुःख दर्द तकलीफों को कम करने वाला कोई ऊपरवाले जैसा कुछ है ।
कोई भी इंसान अगर ध्यान से कुदरत और सभी जीवों को देखें और उनकी तमाम बारीकियों को देखे तो वो पायेगा कि कोई ऊपरवाला नहीं है ।
विज्ञान की ये बात कि ऊपरवाला नहीं है कोई काट नहीं सकता है । धर्म गुरुओं को चाहिए कि वो आम जनता को ना समझाकर सिर्फ विज्ञान को समझाये कि ऊपरवाला है । तो सारी समस्या ही हल हो जाएगी । और फिर सब मानेंगे ऊपरवाले को । मगर शर्त ये है कि विज्ञान को बताओ ऊपरवाले के बारे में, आम जनता को नहीं ।
धर्म के नाम पर ढेरों खून बहा मगर ऊपरवाला किसी को नहीं मिला मगर विज्ञान ने बिना खून बहाये बता दिया कि ऊपरवाला नहीं है, नही है और कहीं भी नही है ।
सच कडवा ही होता है वो तो करेला और नीम पर बैठा होता है । सच को इस बात से कोई मतलब नहीं कि हम सभी इसांनो के दिमाग और दिल में क्या है वो तो अपनी जगह अटल है । सच तो कलेजा चीर कर रख देता है और दुनिया के आम लोगों को झुठं से तसल्ली मिलती है इसलिये झुठं के पीछे, धार्मिक नेताओं के पीछे या राजनैतिक नेताओं के पीछे आंख मूंदकर बिना सही गलत की खुद जांच किये चलते रहते हैं तो सच इसमे क्या करे उसको तो कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता ।
धर्म विषय नहीं है । विषय है ऊपरवाला, उस पर ही बात हो और डिबेट हो । लोग उल्टा कर रहे हैं और धर्म पर डिबेट कर रहे हैं । यहां ऊपरवाले का ही अता पता नहीं ।
विज्ञान कहता है ऊपरवाला नही है और सबुत देता है मगर धार्मिक गुरू कहता है ऊपरवाला है मगर सबुत नही दे पा रहा है ।
और ये ही वजह है कि ढेरो धर्मो के बावजूद भी दुनिया में हाहाकार मचा है और मचा रहेगा ।
ठंडे और बेहद ठंडे दिमाग से और पूरी गंभीरता से सोचो ऊपरवाला है या नही या फिर विज्ञान पागल है जो कहता है कि ऊपरवाला नहीं है । या फिर हमारे मानने और विश्वास करने से ऊपरवाला वजूद मे आ जायेगा । सो खोजो खुद फिर से सच क्या है और सच को सामने लाओ । विज्ञान चुनौती दे रहा और चुनौती को टालो मत और इसका सामना तो अब करना ही है ।
Looking at the comments made by our muslim brothers it is very clear that they have no knowledge about the way our beloved prophet, rasool,imam,guide,etc prayed and asked us to pray.what a pity.no wonder the muslims are massacred all over the world. There are 2 basic conditions for salah to be accepted 1.purity of intention.(ikhlaas) 2.the way of the prophet. For any ibadah to be accepted it should be performed the way practised and taught by our beloved prophet.you can never ever pray the way you want. For islam does not belong to us it belongs to ALLAH. And surely he has stipulated and defined how it should be prayed through his messenger. So please before you comment on an issue learn it thoroughly and then comment. Then it will be of benefit to the ummah.
