    Great video man I’ve been a hobby painter and shooing runs since ‘07 I like the glaze trick I’ll probably use it

    That’s cool but this only works on the flat. What do you do when there are angles

  • @erikgonzales3178
    @erikgonzales3178 Год назад +1

    Just make a bunch of blocks of different sizes. Like a 2 inch, a 4 inch, a 6 inch, etc. That way, you can choose the perfect size for that situation so you won't have to worry about the outer edges of the block sanding in areas you don't want it to. Just a thought because that's what I've done

  • @kenmcf
    @kenmcf 2 года назад

    So...i always thought you sand the glaze(lets say a paint run you sanded off)...and then repaint...ur saying just sand till all the glaze is gone? It absorbs the color around it as you sand it...?

    Great tutorial. Ive used the glaze method too many times but never the marker. Gonna try that. Can you provide a link to the 3000-5000 grit system you use

    I like the razor blade trick with tape on both sides of the blade so it doesn’t cut into it the paint comes out beautiful every time then wet sand it

    • @westbay5858
      @westbay5858 3 года назад

      Tape on both sides would leave no blade exposed. Can you explain more detail.

    • @TheRealMisterChopShop
      @TheRealMisterChopShop 3 года назад +2

      @@westbay5858 Tape on the left side of the razor blade tape on the right side what it does is only allows the razor blade to go so far so all the stuff that’s high it’s able to chop them off it does not let it touch the paint only the bumps that got too high

    I also used SPI Universal clear and have a sag to fix. Because SPI Clear is so soft, how long did you have to wait before working out the run? Days, weeks, months? Thanks for the video

    • @RJTickler
      @RJTickler  4 года назад +1

      Jeff Augg this was done about 18 hours or so after painting if I remember right. I’ve sanded 12 hours after painting before.

    I used to do it that way. But marking the run with a permanent black marker and sanding until the mark is gone works way better and cleaner for me. Give that a try.

    • @RJTickler
      @RJTickler  5 лет назад +1

      KC BILL yeah I did that with another sag in the video. I like the glaze on heavier runs just because it protects the clear around it from getting removed too fast

      You can use any glaze. Dolphin glaze works well, icing works. I think in this video I was using evercoat glaze putty. Has to be a two part hardened glaze putty do not use a non hardened putty like they sell in the soft tubes.
