You can follow your mother's recipe TO THE LETTER and it STILL won't taste right. It's your mother's touch that gives it the bump in flavor in your mind. I've copied my mother's meatloaf recipe down to the letter and while it's good, it's still missing something.
I think a good portion of it is that when parents cook, they don't follow a recipe. They know it by heart. So a tablespoon of salt isn't necessarily a tablespoon of salt. It's whatever they deemed was necessary but doesn't have an exact measurement for.

You had to get in the kitchen and watch or learn while you're helping out and they're feeding you the directions. Wish I had the foresight to write them down when I had the chance.

@@brandimyers5656 Hi Brandi! Chow Chow is a relish made from green tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, and cabbage. It's mostly used as a condiment. I like to eat it with pinto beans, cornbread, turnip, mustard, and collard greens. It has a sweet mild spicy kick to it. It's also called chutney and piccalilli. Hope that helps😊!

You should try what I call a chip sandwich. Basically, you put mayo on two pieces of bread, and then put Martin's bbq chips in between the two pieces of bread and kind of like squish them together. It's an experience of my childhood with my dad..

They're probably the most widely-known and loved Indian food outside of India. The dish chicken tikka masala is Indian-inspired, but is actually British, but it's also amazingly delicious.

Macaroni and cheese should only be made with they'll be the black cheese melted in carnation cream, shredded American cheese and if you want to get fancy I guess go in some sharp cheddar. but you really don't need to and season your noodles please
MY five year old loves your weird food combos. I have several. I started this as a kid, not sure why, but I loved fried (beef) bologna sandwich with mayo and add raisins. Another sandwich fav of mine is a honey turkey sandwich with mayo curry powder, fig preserves or raisins. Yummy.
