I quite agree, Paula. I live alone, I am old, and I take long walks just about everyday, and during these walks, I smile and speak to people and they smile back and speak to me. And just because some people aren't interested in romantic relationships doesn't mean they are antisocial - friendship and socializing can be valuable to them.
Thank you, and well said Paula: "We do not have that on a flat thing." aka, "We do not have human connection when using a mobile phone." The people who take a moment to care - like the lady who works at the airport's Hudson News shop and told Paula, "I hope you find your phone" - mean everything in this face-buried-in-their-cell-phone world.
PS and oh btw she is 100% correct about the insane and tragic addiction damn near everyone has now to technology - good to know at least a few others get it, not that it matters frankly as the mindless masses do not and never will
Here's the thing that's concerning and I know it's not going to be popular opinion, but most people using the internet, chatting, etc., used to be the shut ins, disabled and so forth. It only got bad when able bodied individuals, who had decent families ( no abuse behind the scenes), adequate income and or potential to make it, and had friends and social lives. When that subset got into "our" world, it oversaturated it, it made it very very unsafe, because those same people, didn't know not to put personally identifiable information online. The landscape really has it's pluses, but even more minuses. I have a disability that makes me unattractive, but not horribly so. I got and get rejected alot. When I was online, I still treated people like people, but I receive more reciprocation because they didn't need to see my physical shortcomings. I am trying to be more out in the world now that I can be my own person, but to see people who are not similar to me, trapped in that other world is baffling, and really concerning. Appreciate your reading this or not. Just needed to share.

The radio brought us together, since we all listened to the same things and then talked about them at work and school the next day. The TV brought some of us together because there were lots of different channels to talk about, so we didn't always click with others. Computers and the flat thing has us all talking to a speaker and ignoring each other. Sad commentary, but true. Luv ya, Paula. Get your hair cut.
How do I get ahold of Paula? I want to show her what she made me do and my kids response ... 😅😅😅😅. Um.. I have been giggling violently for half an hour. And am waiting for kids response when they receive said message. Omg. I can't breathe. 😂😂😂
I have always loved paula..I struggled to enjoy this..the studdering is too much for me as it takes away all the comedic timing that was her diamond. I am still a fan..just not my favorite ..soo many others though.i have bought her book but not read it yet..cant wait!
@Crystal Driscoll The word is stuttering. With two Ts, not 2 Ds. And it's unfortunate you don't care for Paula's stuttering. I feel it's part of her comedic quirkiness and her charm. To each their own. The improv top of her head style.
I've enjoyed her stand-up for years but must still agree. The stuttering was excessive, for whatever the reason, and was a little distracting. It's not a criticism, just an observation. I could see she was not feeling her best but she made it through and I was happy to see and hear her, cough, stutter and all. :) ...said 3 years after the fact. I need to remember to check the dates on this thing. :D
Worked for three months at meijer's. Computers didn't make their jobs easier. Rather, turned them into hamsters on a wheel set at high speed, for low pay so they can build more stores and the "family" can get richer. More later.
Paula's remarks on the flat thing - especially in closing re. importance of keeping our human connections -ex. of clerk at airport - so important - but I think she may be Cassandra - the damage is done. Hope not. Will read the book. She's smart as well as an original. Keep on - keeping on,, Paula. A long time fan. ,

The people who take a moment to care - like the lady who works at the airport's Hudson News shop and told Paula, "I hope you find your phone" - mean everything in this face-buried-in-their-cell-phone world.
Funny funny I need to laugh now and then. She will always be funny.
I'm watching this on my flat thing. 😂
Me too!
Jane Smith Me too!
Me too!
Her mind takes things in so quick.
I would love to have Paula as a neighbor; she's both interesting, bright, funny, insightful, and vulnerable. Please move to Florida Paula.😎
So funny on wait wait.. don't tell me!!
Paula, so funny, thx😂
My Dad had to pull one of those pegs in the Life game out of my little brother’s nose when he was a toddler. I believe it was the female pink one (is the any reason for this)?
'Drag one of you out ' Johnny Carson 1958 first tv appearance
Paula is really bright. Hard to be even half-intelligent as she!!
33:12 was an incredible demonstration of how to ask a question... I could have sworn I was hearing Patrice there for a moment the way it was going down..
SO SHWEEEETTT...much love Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO.[the music worldwide}
and sooo cool.!!
The guy who introduces her--seems to lack enthusiasm for... anything?
He's just got the public speaking spooked outness. Betablockers help with that. He seemed to relax and perk up after he blundered a little, it broke his fear of messing up because he already had.
Standard academic boring introduction.
Poor fellow, I felt a little bad for him. But he got through it and did a fine job. It was cute even
As someone else pointed out in reply to another comment about his imperfect introduction: "He just lost his mother. Why can't you give him a break?"
Kind of sad that there are so few views.
I don't know her at all. Discovered her today. How well known is she?
@@janesmith699 watch this one to see how good she is ruclips.net/video/HjxnGy7Se1g/видео.html
I'm surprised she never got a TV series. It would've been funny.
Paula did have a TV series in 1993. Unfortunately, it only lasted 3 episodes:

love from Canada .. 09/03/22
It actually starts at 2:35
Thanks!
Now they want us to cough on the inside of our knee!
I love my screens. Doors, processes, lines, etc.
My screen doesn't have a door. Is that an app? Can i buy one to Narnia?
Edit typo
She’s right
I've never seen 12 ft of snow on Mt San Jacinto ? At least not the one near Idyllwild, CA.
Where were you on that mountain ? Obviously not Humber park. Lol
teachers are no longer allowed to circle anything in red--it might hurt the little dears' self-esteem.
I've hired an organizer several times as I moved into gradually smaller homes every year to live in a strict budget. It was a big Deal!
Get your hair cut.
come back to the Sellersville Theater!
Still love you.
Watched this on a flat thing.
How do I get ahold of Paula? I want to show her what she made me do and my kids response ... 😅😅😅😅. Um.. I have been giggling violently for half an hour. And am waiting for kids response when they receive said message. Omg. I can't breathe. 😂😂😂
I ❤ you Paula!!!
It was a night in January 2019 that was very predictive of what lay ahead...
Can someone please tell me how the fuck the comment section became a war of "left vs right" ITS A COMEDY SHOW!
Must stop reading comments.
Audience not really quick on the uptake here.
Who is in charge of the lighting and sound at this club? Dang.
I think her timing is off bc she’s sick and possibly taking an antihistamine.
Exactly, my first thought.
10 cats, and a big dog, and she has allergies all the time, brilliant.
Thank you!
Try “Farming Game.” Waaaay too wholesome but still competitive and funny.
Worked for three months at meijer's. Computers didn't make their jobs easier. Rather, turned them into hamsters on a wheel set at high speed, for low pay so they can build more stores and the "family" can get richer. More later.
Lol yeah when popular consensus is science, science is dead. Lol
Paula's remarks on the flat thing - especially in closing re. importance of keeping our human connections
-ex. of clerk at airport - so important - but I think she may be Cassandra - the damage is done. Hope not.
Will read the book. She's smart as well as an original. Keep on - keeping on,, Paula. A long time fan.
,
I watched the Comedy Festival Gala held in Melbourne in April and there were only a couple of ‘funny’ comedians. It was dismal. Paula Poundstone is an amazing comedian.
I AM A PROUD NOBODY!
Clothespin Statue! CDC! Personal! Hilarious!

Love Paula she is close to my age and I get her jokes..
A.M.E.N. Paula!
She is sharp!
The women who left early might have been doing her doctoral thesis on introductory speeches
She sounds sick. Go home and rest. That's a deep chest cough. 😳 Love her though. She's so funny.
