I think I'm going back to small content, like short clips and unfunny memes. Tell me what you think about this animation/animatic/whatever... I might do something similar in the far future, maybe all tomorrows or maybe calamity; I love the mod.

Love how you imagine the Qu starships as pyramids too, just like their monuments. Makes sense as a species with a billion years of history and progress would have the tech to design ships of any shape without concessions to function. God bless this community!❤️
Thank you! I imagined that the Qu would have technology entirely incomprehensible to the human mind so their spaceships would be completely alien.

Those star people look really stressed with those eyes. They must have been defending the atmosphere for days on end without sleep or something.

@@usaku9851 I don't believe I said that their technology couldn't damage them. I'm saying that even with such vastly powerful technology, the Qu simply had much more powerful tech in comparison to the Star People. They were simply outgunned.
Remember, the world of the Colonials was one of the few planets able of resisting the Qu, and only twice, before eventually falling like the rest.

As horrifying as it would have been to fight the Qu one must remember that the ones who died were the lucky ones. Because they didn't have to live as horrifying post-humans.
The Qu were merciful in that they took most of the Post-Humans memories away, but the Colonial Fields and Mantalopes who had their memories and personalities...yeah death would be preferred.

The Star People had no concept of scorched earth. If they had any of the human spirit left in them they'd have denied the Qu their flesh by glassing their own planets once it was clear that defeat was inevitable.

@@rebbysstuff or that destroying star systems isn’t a viable battle strategy in fleet combat maybe the star people made nukes and not handguns we don’t fight with our most powerful weaponry maybe if the star people didn’t make doomsday devices and made better battle fleets they would have survived
Something like manipulation fields so powerful the Qu rendered any person, weapon or ship motionless (maybe even contain star buster bombs mid explosion!).

Backstory: I imagine that these star people are probably among the last to be attacked by the Qu. An attack on their civilization that began nearly 1000 years ago. One by one the star people worlds going silent, but not before relaying what exactly was happening to the other worlds. The look of dread on their faces must been present since they were old enough to understand what will someday come upon them.

I'm curious on how the Qu transform the last Star People. Do they force the women to give birth to the various abominations which succeed them?
Nemo Ramjet (C. M. Kosemen) actually clarified this in a short Q&A!
The Qu were initially just a mcguffin to give a backstory to the non-sapient species of humans he created. But they eventually took on a more solid identity and role in the story.
When they swept across the human worlds, they behaved as a hive mind, and operated at an individual level, by following the simple directives of a much bigger collective. In this case, to extinguish sapience wherever they found it, and reshape life with their own designs.
Upon arrival, individual Qu worked by a brutally applied and simple method:
Qu drone sees an animal -> Test animal for sapience -> If sapient, take DNA sample -> after sampling, terminate animal species -> create adapted, non-sapient variant species with sample DNA*
Rinse and repeat with the applicable amount of force and technology as necessary.
@@dregnis-488 that’s pretty much a retcon. Qu were clearly not a hive mind in the original book. That will likely change in the remake, though

i like to imagine that it was a refuege of humans scaping the qu and desided to make one last stand using all the info that the refuges could gather about the qu to make weapons against them
Makes you wonder how two planets, the Colonial World and the Parasites World, managed to fend off the Qu as long as they did.

You know what i just noticed.. the pyramids were left behind by the qu wherever they went and did their genetic modifications. With pyramids in Egypt that implies the qu were here on earth long before star people.

I like to think the laser isn't lethal and maybe is what mutates them or gets them ready to be altered and that this is the colony that became the colonials because of there resistance
So the Discovery Channel at 3am was right about the Ancient Edgyptians having their pyramids be built by Aliens. What we didn't know, was that it was the Qu who helped them.
