    Thank so much!
    I have an Envaya Mini and I was wondering if disassembly was easy or not. In this video you show very clearly how to take it apart and once I'm disassembling mine I will use this video as a guide!
    I'm a bit sad to hear that the battery is not fit for upgrading, but luckily you can charge the Envaya Mini with a powerbank.

    Thanks for the dissassembly video. It was very useful. I just replaced the old battery with a brand new 3200mah Panasonic. This little thing is a bitch to take apart! Not to mention to fit the new battery... There is almost no spare place inside. Quite a piece of engineering!

    Hi, i had problems with my envaya mini, one day when it was fully charged after playing 3-4 songs it turned off and it was absolutely dead ( unable to charge, blinking red led and thats it)
    After that i was unable to switch it on even when it was connected to the charger. After that i found this tutorial and replaced battery thinking that was the main problem.
    After replacing original battery ( with better one Panasonic NCR-18650 B 3400 mAh Li-ion) envaya mini started working like nothing happened, after that i pluged device into charger…
    Device is charging normali so i think ok problem is solved, but after 1 hour when i came to check if it is fully charged device came back to same problem as before.
    Today i disassembled only rubber cap on side where power button is ( just two screws ) , pulled out small round golden pin for a second and it seems that created some kind of hard reset and now everything works.
    So if it will crash again .. it isn not so hard to do this reset again. Hope it will help somenone. Br.

      Thank you. I tried to do the video in english, but I am not able to speak intuitively like in my native language.
      I need more practise. ;)
      Most important I said is that I do not suggest to change the battery because it is wired and it is not clear how the protection circuit will work with an other battery.

    Nice disassembly video. Danke schön.
    Do you know what brand and model number the 2600 mAh 18650 li-ion cell is?
    It would be nice to know what type of li-ion chemistry to get, so you order one before taking it apart.
    There's many different types of li-ion chemistires and some are designed for high discharge current applications at the cost of capacity (for cordless power porwer tools etc.), while others are designed for lower discharge rates, but with higher capacity (for laptops etc.). Some li-ion chemistries require different charging voltages and discharge protection than others, so it's very important to get the right type when replacing li-ion cells.

    Hallo Mark, Danke für das tolle Video, kurze frage da ich mir gerne solch einen Denon Envaya Mini kaufen möchte jedoch mir das Blaue Stofftuch unter dem gitter nicht gefällt und dieses gerne entfernen möchte bzw. vielleicht auch gegen ein schwarzes Stofftuch austauschen möchte, wollte ich dich fragen ist es recht aufwändig dieses Tuch zu entfernen da es ja bei Deinem Video schon nicht mehr drauf ist.
    Was ist Deine meinung ist es ratsam wieder ein Stofftuch draufzugeben o. könnte man es gleich weglassen.

    • @Miniklangwunder
      @Miniklangwunder  9 лет назад +3

      Hallo Jürgen,
      das Stofftuch ist einfach mit einer Art doppelseitigem Klebeband befestigt und ist in wenigen Sekunden entfernt. Das Klebeband war es bei mir dann allerdings auch. Dann einfach neues Klebeband anbringen. Ich habe einen dünnen roten Baumwollstoff damals eingeklebt, nachdem ich ihn etwa 4 Wochen "nackt" betrieben habe. Doch irgendwann schimmerte arg der Staub durch das Gitter. Daher ist meine Empfehlung auf jeden Fall einen neuen Staubschutz anzubringen.
      Dennoch musst du ausprobieren, da manche Stoffe extrem die Höhen schlucken.
      Übrigens war mein einfacher Baumwollstoff klangneutraler als der von Denon. 😉
      Gruß

      BarryLlewellynperson the driver layout from the bose soundlink mini is copied as well if you state it like that... soundbars for tv's has been around way longer than compact bluetooth speakers and featured this layout

    • @BarryLlewellynperson
      @BarryLlewellynperson 9 лет назад

      Cuerex Apologies if I didn't make myself clear, the layout isn't copied. The drivers and passive radiators are copied. They're the exact same size and form, with a few very minor changes, but they're very clearly copied, and I'm very surprised they haven't got in trouble with Bose for it.

    • @cuerex8580
      @cuerex8580 9 лет назад +1

      BarryLlewellynperson my guess is that they have the same partner in china to develop those drivers :)

    • @BarryLlewellynperson
      @BarryLlewellynperson 9 лет назад

      Cuerex I know several manufacturers in China producing the same drivers, they are however an original Bose design. Several more dodgy speakers sold in Asia use the same drivers and passive radiators, but Im surprised that a more established company would also reproduce them. If I may say so myself, Denon have recreated a better driver than the original Bose drivers. Much better treble due to the new speaker cone by the looks of it.

    • @cuerex8580
      @cuerex8580 9 лет назад

      BarryLlewellynperson i'm not an engineer when it comes to this sadly. but what i learned over time is that larger/thicker drivers mean more power beneath and yeah, i just ordered the envaya, i do own KEF LS50 so i know what accurate sound reproduction sounds like.. i think that the bass heaviness is tweakable via equaliser though

      Mine does. On battery power it lasts for about 15 seconds, but still works almost normally when plugged in. I say almost, as on loud volumes, sound gets distorted and it seems that its not getting enough current.

    Well, they don't make it easy to get to that battery! Jesus. Sitting here watching this with the sound coming from my EM. It's just started doing the dead battery stuff (I think I've had for at least 4 years) and I've always wondered how easy/difficult it would be to put a new one in. This is pretty much what I expected. Not sure if I'm up for it. I've got USB battery banks, so I'll wait until they don't work I guess. Thanks for the video.

    • @JeanV1986

      @@TigerDave I just ordered a regular 18650 cell, a Panasonic I already used in a vacuum cleaner. It should be 3200 mAh and it cost me 4,5€. No protection circuit, but you don't need one as the built-in battery has one. You have to carefully cut the plastic housing and harvest the circuitry, and then solder it on the new cell. Not very difficult, but be careful (don't short anything) and make sure to make it as thin as possible, for the is very little space to fit the battery. Another guy did the same here :yadi.sk/d/hNTtA_RdpGNSt

    In meinem Fall habe ich einen Denon Enavay DSB-50BT, auf den der Akku auch dann entladen ist, wenn Sie ihn (theoretisch) vollständig aufgeladen lassen. Selbst wenn Sie ihn nicht verwenden, wird er nach zwei Wochen entladen sein. Wenn es frisch geladen ist, fällt es mit der Dauer seiner Batterie zusammen, die der Mini vor mir ist. In Amazon gibt es mehrere Berichte über Batteriefehler dieser Art und es scheint, dass ohne Lösung. Hatten Sie diese Symptome vor und / oder nach der Änderung?

  • @MrSuicycle
    @MrSuicycle 8 лет назад

    Bei meinem DSB-100 beträgt die Laufzeit nach ca. 1,5 Jahren nur noch 10-15 Minuten. Daher plane ich, den Austausch zu wagen. Das Panasonic-Modell mit Lötfahnen wäre dann sicherlich die passendste Variante?
    Die angelötete Elektronik müsste sich doch auch an den Austausch-Akku anlöten lassen - oder übersehe ich da etwas?

  • @maxibaer
    @maxibaer 8 лет назад

    Ich würde gerne etwas fragen: Nach einigen Monaten oder Jahren Laufzeit wird sich doch die Leistung des Li-Ion Akkus merklich verringern - denkst Du also dass dann ein Akkutausch auch eher nicht möglich wäre? Was ist Deine Einschätzung dazu? Danke schon mal für dieses Video!

    • @Miniklangwunder
      @Miniklangwunder  8 лет назад

      Also, es ist ja klar, was für ein Akku verbaut ist. Wenn man eben einen Akku austauscht, dann geht das nur unter dem Risiko, dass man nicht weiß in wie weit die Ladeschaltung auf den fremden Akku abgestimmt ist. Im schlimmsten Fall kann es zur Überhitzung und Akkubrand kommen mit allen möglichen drastischen Folgen. Was anderes darf ich als E-Techniker dazu nicht schreiben.

    Very good video.
    I see the 18650 is 2600mAh.
    Maybe it would be possible to put a higher capacity 18650 in the speaker like a Panasonic 3400mAh to extend run time?

    • @Miniklangwunder
      @Miniklangwunder  9 лет назад +4

      Matt Hoyle
      Hi Matt,
      I already tried a 3400mAh battery in an onther speaker and there was only a improvement of 10 percent.
      Because the 3400mAh battery will give the energy down to lower voltage as the speaker is designed for.
      These high capacity batteries are very good for RC cars or LED flashlight but not for the Denon Envaya Mini.
      I am sorry.

    • @Miniklangwunder
      @Miniklangwunder  9 лет назад +3

      Hi, yes it is true. The DEM is very special. It has 100 volume steps. If you set it to volume level above 60 the power consumption is somehow at maximum even if you play only very quite with volume level 1 of 16 with e.g. Android device. More than 6 hours playtime re not possible.
      If you set on the DEM level 50 as maximum an then you only use your player to change the volume, then the playtime will be extended to 9 hours.
      There is a sevond possibility why your playtime is not satisfying. It seems, that some production charges have problems with the battery management. There are some cases where the DEM plays only short time till it won't start anymore.
      Maybe this could help you.
      Best regards

    Wonder if those drivers fit in a SoundLink Mini? They sure looks very alike except cone design!
    Guess they have a little better treble dispersion with their center dome design. You could then Frankenstein the ultimate portable speaker :D Combine the best of both worlds.
    You didn't very well show the battery. Is it just one or two standard 18650 wrapped with a protective IC? If so then would be very easy to rebuild pack when it needs. Also if they've chosen low capacity 2300 mAh cells like Bose then you could exchange them for some 3400 mAh Panasonic or 3500 mAh LG to get much longer runtime.

    Leggo che molti hanno avuto lo stesso problema batteria! Bene, io ho modificato il tutto alloggiando una Lion con protezione e controllo termico, controllo sul sovraccarico e sul caricamento e scaricamento ecc., da 3,7v da ben 8800mah!
    tagliando con un cutter gli spessori in plastica che tengono la batteria nell'alloggiamento, sono riuscito a mettere la nuova batteria, che come dite in molti è un filo piu' lunga, e non siete riusciti a metterla. Basta modificare poco il cabinet. ora la mia Denon, che prima era morta, dura anche piu' di 12 ore ;)prima in 30min era scarica.... notate bene, il problema che si crea (bruciature dei condensatori smd, surriscaldamenti ecc) è dovuto alla scarsa batteria che usano mettere di fabbrica. ed è lei che danneggia anche lo speaker e non solo la durata scarsissima di ascolto. Cambiate subito batteria, ancora quando è nuovo il prodotto. costo della nuova batteria 4 € ;) fate un po' voi i vostri conti ;)
    Nel rimontare il tutto, fate molta attenzione ai passaggi. Per quanto riguarda la tela acustica, fissatela da un lato con del nastro isolante sottile, fatela scorrere all'interno della griglia metallica in modo che non si stacchi e rimanga attaccata bene al bordo, una volta entrata tutta nella griglia, mandate avanti di 1 cm lo speaker e togliete il nastro, il gioco è fatto. La mia non sembra mai stata aperta, come nuova. con una batteria finalmente performante.
    Ciao a tutti e ciao al mitico Olev ;) è colpa tua se ho preso la denon e anche la mia preferita, la B&O S3 beoplay (dalla cina originale, 116 €) ;) ve lo consiglio l's3 per casa. Bomba
