TIPS for the interview: 1. Answer the questions directly, do not explain further. Explaining is a sign of lying. 2. Have your documents ready, but only present when asked. Presenting it to them even when not asked is a sign of desperately trying to convince them and is a sign of lying. 3. Wear business attire, with plain business blazer or suit (as if you go for a job interview). Remember, this is a business transaction at the embassy. Do not wear your touristy outfit, you are not a tourist in this scenario even if you are applying for a tourist visa. Do not feel conscious of other Filipinos thinking you are overdressed with your suit. Americans wear suit for important transactions. If you do not have a suit, wear a Filipiniana (I'm not joking. Filipiniana is acceptable as a business attire.) You ought to respect the American Embassy. If you can't respect the embassy, how can they respect and trust you with a visa? 4. You can use hand gestures. Do not smile nervously. Be serious. This is a serious business transaction, and you mean to get the visa. 5. While waiting, refrain from reading pocketbooks, appearing bored, acting as if the waiting area is a lounge for recreation. Be serious, you came to the embassy for a serious transaction. The waiting area is not a recreation place. They have cameras to monitor you. 6. Instill in your mind that you do not intend to stay in the US and mean it. Do not think otherwise, or even just wish in your heart, because it will show. Your subconscious mind will show on those 3 minutes of interview. 7. If you do not get a visa, don't feel bad. This visa does not define you! Good luck next time!

Hi Say! I just applied for a US visa last June for a business travel. And yes, the rest of the comments here are correct. You just have to prove that you will come back here in PH. Mention that you are a vlogger and that you are established here. They already did a background check so the decision was made even before your interview. Just reapply. If it’s His perfect time, it will be granted. Good luck, Say!

Sometimes we don’t get what we’re praying for not because we don’t deserve it but there’s something better na ibibigay si God. Or mas binibigay sa iba because mas brave tau to face defeat. Na kaya natin i-handle. Maybe, next time makuha mu na yun. Basta try lang. ❤️

Hi say! A week after my tita got denied for a us visa, i reapplied for her. Sa first application niya, she declared na self-employed siya and that she owns a small sari2x store. She’s not married and she will be visiting her sisters in the US. So when i was the one who filled-out the application form for her, i answered “not employed” sa occupation part and explained na she has properties that she manage here in the PH. In short, that’s the small portion where she could “brag” that she is financially capable of traveling and that she has “something” that she needs to get back to here. On the appointment, she did not bring any docs related to those mentioned properties, the consul asked her about it though and she was able to answer everything. She got approved!
So yes, you may apply for a us visa agad if you think na you were not able to justify dun sa first application yung “ties” and financial capacity mo. Nakalagay din yun sa website nila if you search kung kelan ka ulit pwede mag-apply ng visa. Good luck on your next try! Don’t lose hope!😘

Mostly if you're single you are denied. Attending a wedding is not a valid reason for getting there. Even attending a family funeral just like what happened to the sister of my friend who passed away, she was not able to get US Visa even though she was backed up by her American brother in law, who is a US air Force. Consul officers are psychologically observing applicant. It also depends on their mood that day but if you are good in challenging them back they are also taken aback. One lady I know reasoned out "I'm visiting Disneyland, I have a good job back home and a family to take care of...". In my case, I was denied twice back in 1988 (perhaps you were not born yet) I was single then, but when I returned for the third time I was already married, instantly I got it. BTW, check the battery of your door chime, it chimes by itself an indication that it's running out if battery.

Same here Say. The first time na nag-apply ako for my US Visa I'm a fresh graduate at yun yung first interview ko I mean wala akong experience sa job interview so I'm very nervous at that time. Super easy lang ng mga questions. Pinakita ko ren yung mga supporting documents ko such as my bank savings but in the end denied same din yung reason sayo. I'm so sad I even cried in the embassy sobrang daming umiiyak dun. Ang mahal ng US visa application kung tutuusin but sabi nga nila everything happens for a reason. After a few days I got my first job siguro ayun yung dahilan kung bakit hindi ako natuloy sa States. There's always a next time for everything. Shookt lang ako kasi naka-ilang travel
which means you can provide for your trip pero depende ren kasi minsan talaga sa mga mag-iinterview . Pero try natin ulit and proove natin na we can afford to go to their country 😍 labyu Say-say .

hello po ate, ngayon ko lang nakita yung video mo. i applied a US visa twice, denied on my first try, approve on my second. i also got the blue slip saying the default reason ‘no strong ties to your home country’ but then iba yung sinabi ng consul sakin na reason. sabi nya hindi daw nag match yung sinabi ko sa application form ko. so ayun, my first schedule was oct 1 and 2nd schedule was oct 26. tinanong ako ng consul ng ‘what changed? you came here just this month’ and i honestly answered ‘nothing has changed. i just reapplied because the previous consul said my answers didnt match my application form so i’m trying my shot today.’ and i got approved!

I had a friend who is a make up artist sa GMA who applied for US Visa noong Feb lang, and luckily she got a 10 years visa, what she showed was a contract from GMA 7 that a bind her sa Philippines to returned, and also they looked at her bank account, since the reason why sha pupunta sa US was to attend a wedding also, so ung ikakasal gave her guarantor letter that they will pay for her accomodations, tickets and everything, she showed ung invitations, save the date and everything, like old photos nila noong ikakasal kase high school friends din sila, and when she answered the consul, super honest lang natatawa nga ako sa kanya kase she is transgender, the way she was answering questions parang pang Ms Q & A sa showtime pero at the same time she is being her self straight answers lang walang keme.. hehhehehe since self employed ka Say, is there any contracts sa career mo as youtuber that requires you to abind you coming back sa Philippines like maybe a certain brands like a well known brand? Don't lose hope Say, keep pushing and I know second tries mo makukuha mo na yung visa... I hope this will help...

I am well travelled din. Pero yun nga.. iniyak ko na lang nung gabi. Maybe because i am not yet married and dont have kids yet? Im 34 yrs old but i have a partner of 15yrs na. I was asked kase if im married and i answered not yet. Then yun tumahimik na yung consul. Then the blue slip :(

Hi! Here's my no sugar coat advice for applying for a US visa.
    1. You need to prove that you have a life to come back for here in the Philippines.
    2. Dress to impress. The US Embassy uses well-trained American citizens to judge Filipinos who are attempting to enter the United States. Unfortunately, like plenty of Hispanics in the US, we are to be considered as one of the nationalities to be watched out for regarding immigration because there really are plenty of "TNT" in the US. They will judge you based on how you speak, your occupation, your accent, your educational background.
This is a piece of advice from a Filipino living in the US as an immigrant since 2014.
    Do well, be well xx

Hi Ms. Say! Bummer to get denied for a visa. I had a cousin in-law who applied 3x for a US Visa (2x denied, 3rd try was a charm). I have also applied for US visa, but that’s another story. Consul looks for ties to Pinas. Meaning you will really return to Pinas. If you have one of these or you are one of these, you will get the visa:
    1. Married
    2. Married with children
    3. Employment in Pinas
    4. Bank loans
Consul usually denies single, self-employed people coz they can’t be sure that they will come back to Pinas. Travel history doesn’t mean much (unlike before) anymore. Bank accounts and ITR din, parang hindi na masyadong nag support na babalik ka sa Pinas, unlike bank loans or employment na babalikan mo sa Pinas.
Good luck, Ms. Say. Praying for your success.

Hi Say! I just wanted to share this you. I had experiences applying different visa’s in the US Embassy. I got a student visa before from 2011-2013 and when I’m about to get a new visa which is the TOURIST visa. I applied for myself. I had my complete documents with me and had my previous 2 visa’s before but I got DENIED.
ONE TIP that will really help you and yung pwede kong masuggest is that you should invite either your mom or your sister to apply a tourist visa. Or mas maganda a group of family will go their and apply for a tourist visa. Sa case ko, we got all approved (my parents, aunt, niece and nephew) They questioned us what kind of business do we have, am I employed, what is the reason why we’re going to the US. Then after that, we got approved for 10 year b1/b2 visa. Consuls are very tricky but they are also nice, in my opinion and experiences and from some of my friends experiences as well, baka makatulong sayo kung may kasama ka sa family nyo or you all guys will apply for the tourist visa. 😊 I hope this helps Say. By the way if you have also any relatives/family na pwede mong ilagay sa visa application mo to visit here in USA, maganda din yun. All records are kept by the embassy. 🙌🏻💖 Good luck and God bless Say!

Five years ago, my father was fighting for his life in the US and i had few days to organize my trip to see him. I was confident that i will be granted the visa because of a dying father. I had all the necessary documents even a letter from the hospital stating my father's condition. To make the long story short, i was not granted the visa and the consul did not even bother to look at my documents. Few days later my father passed away. I never had the chance to see him. He was buried in the States. I still endure the pain to this day and all i can say was i'm sorry dad but i tried my best.

Hi Say! I've heard from somebody who got her US visa after got rejected quite a few times, she's not advising to do the re-application at the quickest time possible after being denied of a US Visa because it would just be a waste of time and money. It's better daw if you could work on first sa reason why you were rejected. You got to show the consul like, there was a huge improvement sa life (esp sa socio-economic chuva na sinabi nila sayo) mo during the last time you were denied and sa next time na mag-re-apply ka. And also you got to visit more countries esp those countries na nag require n visa. Mas madali ka daw maa-approve non. :)

My sister-in-law got approved last 2016 for 10 years, and the only question for her was, what is she going go do in the US, and she answered she wants to see the Disneyland. That's it. Hehehe no documents din hiningi sa kanya during the interview. I guess huge factor din stamps sa passport. Sabi niya parang dun lang nagbased yung consul. She has schengen visa, japan, korea.
Don't worry you can re-apply again, baka hindi pa ngayon ang time. 😊
Try mo muna mag apply ng schengen visa, European Tour. Then travel again para more stamps sa passport. 😊

Keep on trying to apply your US visa miss Say :) one way or another the US immigration will grant you your visa. You have to prove to them that you have a lot of things to comeback to the Philippines like bank accounts, properties, families, and a job. I failed to apply my US visa once but the second time I applied I got it na. So keep on trying wala naman mawawala if you keep on trying diba?..

Hi Say! Sabe nila depende daw yun sa US consul and the day you have it scheduled. If the reason is socio-economic maybe about your job as YT creator they think na hindi siya full time job and your pay/amount is not consistent like an office type of job. The reason of your application is to go to your friend's wedding you should've brought wedding invitation with you as a proof. Or unless you're reason is just to visit US and to experience winter which is the usual/common reason why people apply for visa.. try and try lang say.. :)

I was also denied from getting a US Visa and yes, I cried after that. I think I cried because I had ample money in my bank account, all my expenses were going to be paid for by a sponsor, and I had all intentions of coming back. It was sad because I felt judged prematurely by this American who did not put any effort into knowing me as a person. Basically ganyan ang feeling ko nun lol. Your vlog made me realize that I’ve moved on because nafeel ko now that it is an experience I can smile about in retrospect. 🙂

Nowadays going to the US is hard even for people from the same continent. I’ve been there three times in the last couple of years and I’ve seen a lot of people been denied their entrance to the country even when they have the right visa just because the officer didn’t like them. Honestly, US sucks...

Hi Miss Say, find the reason kung bakit ka na deny. One is baka hindi na prove na babalik ka pa sa pilipinas and baka hindi na prove na you can provide enough for your trip. My friend applied and she got denied, so she reapplied after 24 hours and luckily na approve naman.
Also one tip na I can say, be prepared sa mga answers of the possible questions like (address of the place you’ll stay, dates of your departure and arrival and person to contact in the us). Don’t show the consul na kinakabahan ka, always be calm para hindi ka mag stutter when answering the questions. Minsan daw ibabase nila sa way ng pagsagot mo if you’re telling the truth or no.
But I also believe na swerte swerte din yan kasi may ibang consul talaga na wala sa mood that day kaya wala din sila sa mood mag approve ng applicants. So good luck! Kaya mo yan!

I'm so sorry you got denied! Please be persistent trying to get that visa to the US-unfortunately you may not make it to your friend's wedding but the trip will be well worth it! If you visit the east coast-would love to meet you! Maybe you needed to let them know that you're a well known Filipino RUclips personality and that in itself would bind you to the Phillippines. Plus your mom and sisters are there! If the US doesn't work out, go to Europe! SO amazing there! We took a family trip of a lifetime to Italy, France and England a few years ago and we still cherish the memories we made there! Keep up the great atritude! I'm a big believer in everything happens for a reason! 💝

I never comment but im a silent subscriber of yours, When u mentioned na you feel like you are in a very dark place na you feel blue or emotional. I felt like I have to tell you this, whenever you feel blue or emotional or you are in a dark place of your life back then when I felt that way I started praying, i felt na i think I need to be closer to God. Praying and closer to God are two different things kse for me. When you are praying sometimes when we pray we just pray, you don’t fully give God you heavy heart. But when you are closer to God, when you pray you lift it all up to the Lord. Maybe the reason why you are feeling that way is maybe God is calling your name and he wants you to depend on him like everything even the smallest things. I remember when I was listening to a worship song when I was in a very dark place of my life I just cried like melt down everything and that’s when I had my wake up call na God is calling me to seek him. Seek him more say and you will feel like someone is comforting you physically but you can only feel it from your heart. Seek him, pray more and let him maneuver you to whatever God wants u to do, let him maneuver you on where God wants you to be. God is a very gracious God, he is very merciful and let him shower you with his love and grace. We are all enough in God’s eyes, we are all loved in God’s eyes because his unconditional love never fails us. Trust his will and trust his plans for you, always seek him even through tough times.

I think swertihan din yung pag approve sa US visa. My son and I applied last year. Prepared a bunch of documents pero wala silang tinignan. Most questions that they ask is about my employment (length of stay, field etc). Then employment of my husband. Luckily we got approved. Pray pray din talaga ko na sana ma-approve kami kasi sayang ang bayad :) :) Goodluck po. Just try again, ma-aapprove ka din eventually.

Sometimes topak lang talaga mga consul. I was denied twice. 1st was kinda understandable cause I was single then. Even if I had all documents needed then (bank statements, employee certificate etc), it's true that once they've decided to deny your application, they really wouldn't bother to look at your papers. Ugh! 2nd time I was kinda confident cause I already travelled to Europe and Australia and I just got married. But then, wala. Still denied. Sometimes it really depends talaga sa topak ng consul. I have a friend who's just doing freelance work and is still single, but got his application approved. So there, bahala na sila sa mga buhay nila dyan sa US! lol.

And it is true, they won't even bother looking at them. I applied mine when i was working in another country kaya it was easy peasy. Pero true, they did not check yung documents. Just a few questions and that's it... Good luck Say sa susunod na application mo hopefully you get it this time... Don't lose hope and try again. The next time around, be confident and just relax. The consul can pick up your nerves and that is always a red flag if obviously seen by them. Just be yourself and I'm sure you'll get a visa on your next try. Remember, be confident, calm and honest and the consul will appreciate that and give you a visa. Ang tanong what will you do in the US? Sagot, I will visit my brother. Sagot ng consul, ok. Approved at 10 yr multiple entry silang dalawa pero di mo tatalunan ang confidence ng sis ko. Yan lang ang sikreto dyan.

I got denied twice! My first time was in 2009 (when Obama just got elected to office). I am single and been working as a pharmacist in a government hospital for 7years when I applied for a visa. Been to other countries here in asia, but still got denied. Their reason is I wasn't able to prove that I have strong socio-economic ties with PH. Btw, my father renewed his visa and was given a multiple entry when we were interviewed while my sisters and I got denied. I tried to get a visa again last 2016 (when Trump just got elected to office). I am still single and still working at the same government hospital for 14 years. This time I went with my Mother and my sister who is a nurse. My mom was given multiple visa while my sister and I got denied again. And their reason is still the same. We weren't able to prove strong ties with PH. I was joking with my parents that US embassy will only approve my visa application once I hit my 50s. Hirap na maglakad at di na makajoin sa tour. Lol! I am not sure kung wrong timing lang din talaga pag apply ko. Laging new administration. Pero bottom line is, when you're single kahit gaano pa ka stable ang job mo, may pang show money, kahit nakapunta ka na sa ibang OECD countries tulad ng Japan & South Korea, 90% chance na idedeny nila application mo. Pero you can always try again. malay mo. Sabi nga ng relatives ko sa US, "They can't say NO forever!"

actually mas tinitingnan nila if naka travel ka na sa European Countries. here in Qatar madali lang mag apply ng visa basta kung 6 months bank statement and advantage if naka travel ka na sa mga european countries. tapos mas maganda ang sasabihin mo sa Consul na wala kang relatives sa US kasi mas iisipin nila na meron kang pag-iistay han dun na might eventually question about your stay in the US. ang better option is to say na tlagang dun ka lang pupunta just to tour US and not for anything else. like for me I told them na manunuod lang kami ng Live NBA games then Punta ng Disneyland.. so mas insipin nila na vacation nga lang ang pupuntahan mo.

Last week lang na approve ang younger sister ko ng tourist visa, she got 10 years multiple entry. Wala sya masyadong experience mag travel outside Philippines, I think twice lang sya naka travel and both asian countries. My theory kaya sya na approve is because meron syang stable job sa Pinas and she makes good amount of money and that I think enough na sa consul para mag tiwala na meron syang babalikan sa Pinas. At pangalawa merong syang family dito sa states I believe importante sa immigration na hindi sya magiging burden pagdating dito kung sakali merong mangyari or whatever dahil merong sasalo sa kanya. I'm guessing sa case ni Say is because freelance ang type ng trabaho nya pwede nya kasing gawin kahit saan.

Since our president is very strict when it comes to people coming in and out of the US, especially immigrants, it's so much harder for people to apply for a VISA now. Second, if you're sad or down listen to Christian songs nakaka lift ng spirit samahan mo na din ng pagdasal instantly nakakagaan ng loob. 3rd, before your interview with the consul officer meron na sila denial notice from the NVC yung interview kinuconfirm lang nila yung nasa documents mo kaya diba hindi nila binasa mga proof mo na dala mo? Lastly, if you want to re-apply, kase single ka dapat meron ka established na business for at least a minimum of two to three years or contracted ka sa isang company for work (strong proof yan na babalik ka talaga) and show money dapat sa bank mo meron ka enough funds to suffice na kaya mo ang expenses for the trip. Ang dami ko friends and family who applied for US Visa usually yung hinahanap nila. Pag family visa mas madali :))

Say, you have to prove your socio-economic ties with the Philippines. You don’t have to have a lot of money or whatsoever. I got my 10 year multiple entry visa in less than 30 mins, first try while still a college student (i applied solo, not as a family. I told the consul that my parents are shouldering my fare). My family is middle class and I dont have any previous travels and US is my first one. No document was asked, but I was prepared with everything.
One tip I got was to answer only what is asked and just be honest with everything. Also, let them know that you dont have the intention of over staying or working or whatever reason that you may not return. GOODLUCK! CANT WAIT FOR THE FUTURE US VLOGS!
