In this world of ecstasy-oriented junk techno people like Roger Shah are doomed. Its just sad. I have always been a huge fan of him.

@@tranceurmind1961 I think you´re right, it´s kind of worrying what gets put on the main stage these days. The Chainsmokers, (I had never heard of before this month) a cross between a boy band, a hippy band & a strange kind of EDM, I must be getting old. Jesus! How can people listen to that shit?

Healesville Sanctuary is the best trance track ever! I've been at your shows in Mexico City since 2013 and my favorite moment is when you play this song. I must confess that Roger Shah is my favorite DJ so can't wait to see you on October 4th for another open to close set :)

Interesting performance. The set looks to be made in Ableton, sort of a live performance? Love that it gives him the ability to interact with the crowd.
How close does this come to a prerecorded? How can you have a "sort of a live performance?" How live are any DJ mixes these days? Just `pressing the sync button, that´s computer generated, nothing absolutely live. DJ´s today are so scared about doing a mistake they will not risk vinyl.
@@Westhamsterdam Shah's a very skilled producer (prolific, >600 tracks/remixes). If he chooses to present a set in this way, I'll defer to his good judgement. But yeah, it looks to be pre-programmed with access to the stem data. He is adding melody on his keyboard. So a simple version of the live performance, not to the level of GO Live, Brechja, or Kalbrenner who build the tracks up almost from scratch. I only commented b/c I've never seen a set quite like this. But I have mad respect for Roger Shah, not criticizing in any way.
@@davidmartin6537 I only commented because I have never seen a set quite like this too! I know who Shah, is . I often think that many of these DJ´s playing on their CD decks are faking it. I have no idea how Kalbrenner works. For all we know it´s just as much prerecorded! You have to have great trust in any of these DJ´s nowdays.
@@Westhamsterdam If you have some basic knowledge about how the decks work it's pretty easy to see what they are doing. I bet very few folks out there pre-record. And for someone like Kalkbrenner, yeah, he's not faking it. Look him up, pretty cool to watch how he creates a set.
@@davemartin264 Come on, ever since 1990 probably further back, DJ´s were faking vinyl sets. The trouble is it is nearly imposible to see whether a DJ is playing a prerecorded. The EDM "DJ´s" Timmy Trumpet, The Chainsmokers et al all looked like prerecorded. The sounds now are of studio mixing.
The days of a true DJ are long gone. Nothing is live. Even if you just press the sync button that´s computer generated mixing.
Although it has been 3 years, if I were on the scene at that time, it would be a touching scene.
