Today I talk about the power scaling of One Punch Man. No I'm trying to figure out if Tatsumaki is Planetary or Saitama is Universal or anything. With recent event in the manga with the ninja village arc, things have been going crazy with Empty Void dimension powers. Is this crazy spike in powerful villains ruining the series? Let's talk about it.

I think Blast consider Empty Void to be more dangerous that Cosmic Garou because the time, distance doesn't matter for Empty Void for this reason that he is a great threat to the hero association, so it's a manner of range attacks and immediate threat of his intense presence.(Garou is effective at striking up close or several meters in front of him, yet we never see him reach farther than 1220meters distance unless he use physical projectile tools) Yet Empty Void is too dangerous and everyone on the planet is at risk of being attacked by him. I think Blast consider those ideas.

I think something like this could enhance One Punch Man. Could offer new levels of humor and wacky results. What I’m saying is the stronger the enemies are, the funnier Saitama’s actions could be. Like someone could freeze time and Saitama could be standing there not understanding whats happening and the enemy just stands there dumbfounded. The show/series should represent how ridiculously strong Saitama is. The stronger the enemy is, the funnier the encounters could be.

For me the suspense of the show/manga has never been about beating the villain, or even how the other heroes handle the villains. No for me it has always been a story of humility, and how no matter how great you are, you should always remember there is someone out there better than you. I enjoy most when people recognize they are in fact NOT that great, or at least not quite as top tier as they thought. Given that we are probably ramping up to the god story, they might have decided its time to really draw on the reliance of Saitama.
I can definitely foresee a lot of characters really soon discover just how much they actually rely on Saitama, or how they really compare to him and the drama will be more along the lines of how each of them have to re-learn why they are heroes in the first place because of how upsetting it will be to their pride. For others it might reignite their passion for improvement like how Sonic has really dedicated himself to becoming the best he can be.
All that said yeah its absolutely all played up for comedy, it might not be "Haha" laugh out loud funny anymore, but its still got that feeling of "man this stuff is ridiculous" front and center
I completely agree with you. Moreover, the story has never been one-dimensional; it has always encompassed various themes such as humility, action, and depth on multiple levels. What makes OPM so remarkable is how every character has a unique personality and distinct traits.

If you watch Bobobo Bo Bobobo and read the manga, the main character can solo DB easily. Plot manipulation is one of his ability.

The description of Attacking outside of the causality of the universe sounds like a move goku is not winning against as its unavoidable plus empty void doesn't even have to be in the dbz universe/dimension to attack him so if empty void vs goku would happen goku would probably die before he's done screaming to activate UI

People says Empty Void could get countered before he going to hyperspace via having speed more than him but u guys wrong. Literally Blast correcting Flash question about Empty Void capable moving between dimension then Blast says "Yes". And Empty Void can't get caught because Flash himself saying "an opponent that can't be defeated with speed only" (Infinite Speed) . Literally u need an cosmic awareness (reacting as infinite speed) because Dimension Slash is instantly strike that ignore size, energy, and distant (infinite speed). That's why Blast that have interact with God before then having Cosmic Awareness making him could react intantly (Infinite Speed Reacting) then move the HQ Hero right before get destroyed by Dimension Slash. Even in next chapter Flash also have cosmic awareness after interact with God then could react Dimension Slash but his body couldn't react as fast as his instinct that make him get damage to.
Cosmic Awareness in OPM verse works like if u before interacting with higher dimension creature, u will get this feeling instinct level of cosmic being power. But this level of awareness is useless if u body can't catch up a strike that ignore size (no matter how big or small as atom u have u will get caught), ignore energy (Equivalent of Infinite A.P./dura negation), and ignore distance (Infinite Speed).

Isn't the S Class carried by Blast from the looks of it? As it seem like the cosmic threat are dealt with by Blast and his crew. While the terrestrial threats are dealt with by the rest of the S Class. The only time they are suppose to intersect is when something somewhere grew to a cosmic threat such aa a garou.

I don't think it matters how strong any of the villains are. This point has always been about building a impossible threat up just to trivialize it. Maybe the gag itself is getting old, but I don't think the story is really any worse because of it, but some of the charm is fading away. I think it can be better said that the window for creativity around the gag is growing more narrow, even as the threats themselves grow grand.

I'm with you, it really doesn't matter. With these stories, we are still getting closure for characters like Sonic/Flashy. But we need these other wordly beings to be STUPIDLY strong, to understand God's true power when we eventually get to that fight. I think One has done a great job in doing that
i think becuase we all know that final boss figth is going to be saitama vs God and that figth will break the dimensions

This is the first time ive ever seen or heard that "Power Scaling is Ruining OPM", like, what? Where'd Anime Anxiety even get this? 🤨 All OPM Fans ive seen or know are HYPED and excited for OPM Villain's to get stronger and raise the bar higher. That's LITERALLY what this Story has been about, not just being a Parody of Superhero Stories. We literally went from Zero To Hero for Saitama, went from taking out Crablante to Boros. Only Non-OPM Fans or OPM Fans who don't understand the story despite reading the Manga or Watching the Anime would make such dumb statements like "oH pOwErsCaLiNg rUiNiNg oPm".

Empty void and garou are at least 5D they transcend time and space
Garou is 4D as he’s affected by timelines. You cannot be affected by timeline/time manipulation and be 5D, it’s contradictory. Saitama is an outlier and likely only exists as a singularity since his past and future self auto merged showing his existence is only allowed to be a single thing throughout the multiverse. Empty void is definitely 5D because he can exit the confines of time and space itself in the plane of parallel worlds which is definitely 5D territory.

The power scaling got totally ruined when Murata joined the fray. The cosmic garou set the bar way too high way too quick, now every proceeding character needs to be a multidimensional, interplanetary, 6th frequency, omni-god to keep people hooked. The webcomic is WAY better 😂

I love how he completely ignores the very first threat within the series, which could've been a god level threat (Obviously, we can't be too sure because Saitama punches them into orbit). The power scaling is fcked, but not in the usual way. Boros, which was the finale to the first season, is one of the most powerful opponents in the entire series. FIRST SEASON

i really hate the time travel alternative universe bullcrap that murata has put in manga. it simply spawns so many questions that cannot be answered and it ruins the fun and storytelling. because now you have infinite everything and nothing in the current universe matters now and is expendable because there are infinite other universes... every movie/show/game that has it has the same problem. also one was teasing with blast for so long but murata showed him way earlier and spoiled all the mystery and hype. i really hope the new manga chapters will take exactly after webcomic with no more drasticly changed stuff like that. i swear if they make in the future something like 2 saitamas from different timelines fight eachother thats gonna be the worst possible choice and it will be the biggest nail in the coffin. they should focus on one and only timeline and nothing else

Honestly, I just wanna see the scaling of villains get more insane with every passing arc, so that we could see how Saitama breaks it. Part of the fun of OPM is watching Saitama approach things with a cavalier attitude and the villains becoming more absurd as the story goes is probably necessary. Also, I wouldn’t mind if One gave some training moments to some side characters so that they don’t get one tapped by god level threats

Also mumen rider is a perfect example of even tho they are weak doest change the inpact of the story, like he had a ton of inpact of how we see heroes even tho he couldn't do shi.
To me, the best thing about One Punch Man are the side characters.
I feel like level of power where there is no cause to the effect should only be handled by the 4 characters that have access to it and maybe ever so slowly introduce other characters to it. Monster God, Empty Void, Blast, and Saitama.
Maybe that Tatsumaki might eventually get caught up and heightened to that level too, would be cool.
But I think it should be taken as a battle within a battle. Any character that is not capable of those level of power should be left out of this battle and be directed to battles a bit more on their level. Like, say, a villain that is overpowering most of the other S-class heroes but through their hardship they could overcome that and focus on personal development.
Personal development like Tatsumaki being humbled by Saitama and getting a glimpse of personal growth. Maybe even Mumen Rider, the true relatable hero managing to overcome the odds of a villain above his level being defeated by his sheer force of will even though he hardly has any other power.
Kind of like how King was developed as this hero who broke his luck limiter. Maybe Mumen Rider can get something like that too?

Even though the Power level of villians introduced in the series has increased a lot and started out way lower, secondary characters have been getting their ass kicked the whole time. Genos got his ass beat by Deep Sea King.
When Boros came most of the s-rank heroes where struggling to pick off a few of his soldiers. Saitama destroyed his whole ship like it was a rage/smash room and killed Boros half serious.
I too think it don't matter at all, The heroes who cap at planetary max and below (#S class) still will have treats on their lvl or slighty higher to challenge them such as the Neo hero, the Mad cyborg, The robot army etc...Dragon + lvl of monster will always attack & the story made it clear that the closer god reaches in breaking free from his seals the more the Dragon lvl threats show up so the S ranks will always be relevant espacially when Saitama & Blast + his Team travel the uni/multiverse to fight god & his disciples the S ranks Like Tatsumaki & the rest will be given the responsibility to hold down the earth from enemy invasion (which I believe will be Near god lvl threat to really be a challenge for the S class and have them grow in strenghth).
They will basically be doing what The Z fighters where suppose to be doing while Goku/Vegeta defends the uni but didn't bcz DBZ just couldn't handle their power scaling.

Empty Void is on the same level as blast in overall physical stats and original moveset and abilities.
The difference of him and his human self is the knowledge of interference of realm technique and his attacks doing massive damage; and teleportation being an ability he knows and use, and far more dangerous, and a terror, while having unused techniques being stashed away(those are only have an effect if it used).
Empty Void took the leaving energy of cosmic Garou(the one appeared in chapter 169)Between Empty Void now and Cosmic Garou is like they have the attributes they are shown in the story and both are pretty relative in speed(yet the nuclear fission fist Garou caused did do massive damage that empty void can keep up) I think it's the abilities that makes "the person" more dangerous or powerful because of the possibilities, the opinion came from Blast. Blast thinks Empty Void is more of a threat I think that Garou is a threat within 20 meters as his current form and Empty Void's danger threat is basically everywhere
Empty Void is on blast level as a human, with the current as of 200 he has the Cosmic garou's energy and absorbed it and does teleporting across dimensions in various ways and similar abilities in first one of a ninjutsu so great that it could be genjutsu. His dimensional slash is from his technique of allowing his special ninjutsu to interfere with the realm and his blades are capable of slashing through targeted and hit things. It's a addition to a already mighty being and it's from the looming final boss of the series.
I haven't gotten any update about chapter 203 since for over 2 months and now you come up and say this.

As an opm fan, I can say the current fights are definitely amazing and breath taking but I feel like the story is being rushed to reach the final arc of the series. The story could have been more funny and detailed but I guess they are trying to focus on the fights more than the story rn.
We're not even close to the final arc. You still have the whole neo heroes arc and the whole dr bolfoi arc

here is the thing opm isn't all about saitama its about the side characters they are the main focus I love watching them fight eachother and other villains having their own arc it is really fun. I hope mumen rider gets his own arc and also king being an actual legit hero I mean his super power is well luck.
Well you have a guy who has never been truly hurt once he became bald. Few chapters in we already know the MC is the strongest so the "scaling" up of the powers of enemies is just to be expected. After defining Saitama as the strongest then we know that everything else will be just a way to flex so really, the author is such an amazing storyteller.
Also, any vs battle with any characters from other stories are really pointless when all those character have gone all out or have been hurt (or worst yet, killed) in their strongest form. Anyone, Goku, Superman (who has been injures and killed) and most others like them). They would be facing a character who has never been actually hurt in his current form and who has not truly gone all out (and nope he was being kind to Garo). Also, Saitama is still a gag character. He was introduced as the strongest, not "probably the strongest" or really strong.
I know they were going to run into this problem. Maybe they trying to create competition for Saitama but the point of Saitama is he has no competition! Thats LITERALLY his whole gag.

It's difficult for an anime to be void of power scaling and still be popular. This is one of the reasons I love Attack on Titan.

More recently it seems mostly to be about how long it takes for Saitama to get there.
It glad to see saitama get a higher power scale and then someone going to come here to say he still can't be Goku or dbz/dbs I don't care I just like Saitama being strong you don't have to bring Goku or dbz/dbz into every strong anime character 😐
I think it is because a lot of the fans just compare Saitama to Goku and claim that he could defeat Goku or something when we are just trying to enjoy the series for what it is
At the end of the day. We will probably see this Animated 20 years from now. I'm basically over this anime. How long do We have to wait for a new season. And does it have to take YEARS.

I honestly, don't care about this power-scaling, at the end of the day theres a lot of slice of life still with god like threats being here sure but, as long as I get my slice of life I do not care.
To me first season of the anime was perfect. I've watched S2 and read the manga, and imo it kinda lost the thread there.
To me, the great part about OPM S1 was the philosophical parts. Saitama is a being with overwhelming power. He can do whatever, way above and beyond what anyone else can... So what should he do? First episode ended with him being saddened about once again coming home uninjured, then he dreamt of world-ending event(70% of population dead) as it would "stimulate his existence", then he again beat the real world threat easily. He takes in a student but he cannot really pass down his strength, he has it, Genos never will, so what can a teacher do. With Sea King arc, you see Saitama have to pretend to be weak and greedy since even if raw strength matters, intentions matter too, he appreciates the effort other heroes put into stopping this threat that he could easily wipe, and wants them to have respect for it... And to do that, he had to act like a bad guy.
And ultimately, he sees Boros, someone that had lived similar life to him, but while Boros gets to have his epic clash, finally get tested, and taste the defeat that seemed impossible... We're left with Saitama reflecting on it all, knowing that Boros got to experience that which he had been searching, and as Boros lies there dying, they spell this out, they both know Saitama is still looking for this experience. Will he find it? Will it make him happy?
Even smaller storylines reflect this, like House of Evolution being defeated. Saitama didn't lay a hand on the head of the operation, he demonstrated the void of purpose in this kind of strength, Saitama is stronger than his any creations by unimaginable margin, and yet, he's just a normal person, kinda, wanting to make it in time for supermarket sales and such. Even with such strength, life goes on, and the question remains, "what should be done with it?". And, he decides that in fact, maybe he already has what it takes to live his life fully. Maybe he was chasing a mirage with this endless power, thinking it would bring him answers?
Monster association arc, aside the Suiryu bit, mostly was devoid of this. There story continues but it feels like the foundation the story was resting on, got taken away.
Itachi+obito abilities are given to Ninja leader with similar ppwer of Madara like the steriod he fall it upon from skies onto 5 kages similar to dimension slash
Personal I agree I don't really care power levels and things like that again personally I just want a awesome stories and characters as long everything works that's why I love Dragon Ball and one punch man because of that
Power scaling for Dragonball has been broken for years. How are you going to be in the 100's to 1000 on scouter and blow up the moon (This was happening when Goku was a kid). This was shown before the Saiyans came to the earth 😅😅😅. At that rate they should be destroying universe's like Zeno.

I don't have an issue with new MAIN villains being this overpowered. There will always be other lower tier monsters for the normal heroes to fight while these higher tier guys get handled by blast or saitama. I've never stopped enjoying the manga at any point.

The reason why OPM scaling tends to not matter because they made it clear that Saitama in his series beat everyone anytime he wants to without struggle.
That's why, for me, the story is boring and pointless when it involves him. It started off like "haha look at him he one shots the enemies!" To now, it's being serious with the threats....which aren't a threat if they don't show any signs of struggle for the main character.
So now most people are just engaging for the spectacle of the fights and artwork than whatever Saitama has to fight. Like we are just watching how long does the big bad lasts against Saitama.
The side character's fights are way more interesting for storytelling than any fight that involves Saitama, story wise.
Any fan that think this is bad are wrong, like apart from blast till this day no s class hero can defeat boros. Thats why i think blast is that 1percent that we need, and i mean its not like all the s class are gonna be useless going forward, flash is gonna get one of ev's blade and we have atomic samurai with sun blade and tatsumaki is probably gonna get a power boost in future arcs, hell we even have blast's galactic justice league

i like the idea that villains, in the one punch man universe, are that powerful but because some cosmic force is trying to get hero to push past their limits and become stronger. but because satima keeps killing them all, they can't grow, and the that force keeps sending stronger enemys
Blast will probably loose because EV is now in his cosmic Form and Saitama will Defeat him like in the WebComic "but not visual like in the webcomic" and not that easy because as we have seen Redraws are already happening and they want to make it as epic as possible and let us see Saitamas Feats first hand
The fact that people think, for whatever reason, that a critique of beyond exponential growth & questionable scaling is merely a defense of goku speaks _volumes._
OPM is so superior to most popular animes/mangas out there, the storyline is simply pure gold, I mean, just look at DBZ or Naruto/Boruto, those storylines are complete dogshit compared to OPM.
I would say Death Note and Berserk are on the same level as OPM, but shit shows like DBS are simply so badly written that I completely understand why their fanboys hate Saitama and OPM.
The character Saitama was written specifically to make characters like Goku or Naruto look like sad jokes.

I think in recent arcs the web comic and manga split. The manga went completely off on its own and comes off to me like a pretty fanfic. Especially all the stuff about blast that’s nowhere from the creator. I think I’ll stick to the web comic, that’s the source of OPM magic.
Nah empty void is not more powerful than Garou. Blast didn’t even want to really fight garou, kind of implying he would’ve lost, meanwhile him and empty void are probably evenly matched, unless EV pulls some shenanigans.
