I see several comments mentioning the bass being too loud and I gotta say... it sounds fucking perfect! This might be the best YOB set on youtube. CHEERS!
naaa its not and volumen issue. Its the sound as it self. it`s just sounds so "springy" hard to discribe. as i saw them live a few years ago, i liked the sound way more. Loud as fuck yes, but the sound was way better.
Doom may not be for everyone (and if that includes you, why not move on to something you enjoy listening to) but it's for me and these guys are at the top of the heap! Effing epic 3 piece!
Wasn't a fan of Doom (albeit I have heard some here and there) but god damn YOB has just locked me in and never let me go. Everything they touch turns to gold.
To me, everything about this recording is perfect. The loud bass adds an ominous quality to their already incredibly heavy sound. I love it! I really like his vocals here too.
Yeayeayea first song was all bass but after that it's great. Well worth it to watch. Great set and quality pro shot video.Sucks for Saint Vitus to have to follow them lol
Guitar-amp in the room was so loud that the soundengineer didnt need to add it in the mix. Hence the only-bass-and-drums feel. Im sure that it sounded just fine on the day. By the way: THE ENERGY!!!
Yob might be my favorite all time band. Excellent video hellfesters! bass is a touch hot, but better than not there at all. soundboard mix? also, who the hell "claps along" at a doom metal show? smh
After many, many viewings of both videos I can conclusively say that YOB live at Hellfest 2012 and YOB live at Roadburn 2010 are the two best live YOB shows on RUclips
this is the first footage i've seen/heard by yob where the vocals are clear. also mike sounds much more confident and powerful than on most of the other live recordings i've seen. still, i haven't seen them live. good set.
probably my fave video upload of there concert footage yet... great sound quality.. even though i love their smaller st vitus venue gigs... this sound quality is beautiful
This is the first time I hear "Burning The Altar" live and it's a masterpiece. Hard for me to choose my favourite YOB song but that one is definitely up there among a few others.
On the other hand... bass sound so goddamn badass in this video, that it makes quality itself :) it's like hearing your favourite band from different perspective.
nah dude it is the guitar being too quiet and the bass being too loud. I've seen them live before, you can here Mikes guitar just fine generally, even if the tuning is that low. Their sound just wasn't done well at this performance. It still sounds sweet though.
Nah, I agree with reverendofdespair. The bass is so loud at some points that you can't even hear the guitar. Don't misinterpretet me, I love a bass guitar's sound. But I like all instruments to be harmonized, balanced. And this vid, especially the beginning of the concert, isn't really an example of that.
No way it's the tuning. Ramesses and Serpentine Path both play in the A tuning, and their sound is quite good live.I guess they'll just have to think in an unconventional fashion about mixing these instruments.
I've seen Yob several times, and their sound is always impeccaple, this mix is just really poor, and I can't believe anyone has even cared mixing it. Bass is way too high, and the guitar is barely audible, what the hell.
for me it's kinda funny, though I agree it should be more balanced, it probably sounds to guitarists the way almost every metal album ever sounds to me, as a bassist.
Mike's voice could tear the space-time continuum
if I catch you clapping to the beat at a YOB show during Adrift In The Ocean Im gonna beat the fucking piss out of you. Absolutely Haram.
@@norseman3514 no, he’s a buddhist
it does
I see several comments mentioning the bass being too loud and I gotta say... it sounds fucking perfect! This might be the best YOB set on youtube.
CHEERS!
It's nice to hear the bass up front.
Jack Pfiester 100% agree. The bass CRUSHES my SOUL. I LOVE it. I cannot listen to this loudly enough. Sounds incredible.
Yeah I have seen them twice and the bass is really loud. My boots were literally vibrating, and I was standing on the guitar side.
Best YOB set on RUclips is Live at Roadburn 2010
naaa its not and volumen issue. Its the sound as it self. it`s just sounds so "springy"

Anthony Woods Killer fucking set!
+Anthony Woods Doom is the only genre keeping metal closer to its 70s roots, so good.
Thats how its done
Wasn't a fan of Doom (albeit I have heard some here and there) but god damn YOB has just locked me in and never let me go. Everything they touch turns to gold.
2:06.Prepare the ground
13:02 Burning the altar
27:00 Adrift in the ocean
42:00 Upon the Sight of the Other Shore
50:45 Grasping Air
Yob
What a set
holy fucking shit, his voice could wreck buildings!
Adrian Asgari Mike Scheidt is the Dragonborn.
This is so heavy on every level... its just not fair.
To me, everything about this recording is perfect. The loud bass adds an ominous quality to their already incredibly heavy sound. I love it! I really like his vocals here too.
They are an example of a group that is actually BETTER live than in the studio...that's pretty rare.
This feels so right... Can't believe I'll get to see them myself in under a week... bring it on!!
maurismind how were there? lemme guess. loud as fuck, epic and crushed your soul.
Burning the altar is ridiculously heavy from start to finish
27:07 "Adrift in the Ocean"
such a great track...
xyling definitely a favorite of mine
One of my faves as well. I just close my eyes and lose myself in it.
Instant smile when they start to play :D
Yeayeayea first song was all bass but after that it's great. Well worth it to watch. Great set and quality pro shot video.Sucks for Saint Vitus to have to follow them lol

41:32 "YOB!!! BRING ME YOUR BEER!!! NOW!!!"
ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND!
When the vocals kick in on Prepare the Ground. Best musical moment of all time. It just comes full power and melts your face.
this video was my introduction to this awesome band 10 years ago. i love them since then with everything what they do.
There is a lot of doom out there. Out of the sludge pit this band has truely emerged with a powerful unqiue sound.
Think these guys have become my favorite band.
Is that an Anne Murray tribute band?
The best one!
After many, many viewings of both videos I can conclusively say that YOB live at Hellfest 2012 and YOB live at Roadburn 2010 are the two best live YOB shows on RUclips
This was so blimmin' good
YOB are my new favorite band! "Burning The Altar" will be my summer song of 2014!
Didn't think it was possible. I have made a quantum shift. The Most significant Band to influence me.
51:23 !!
hell on stage 🔊🎶🤘🎵💀🎵🤘🎶🕪
I can't imagine how it must've been to be front row there, my face is melting from here.
this is the first footage i've seen/heard by yob where the vocals are clear. also mike sounds much more confident and powerful than on most of the other live recordings i've seen. still, i haven't seen them live. good set.

Have you listened to the 26 min title track on illusion of motion? That ones other worldly
9:08 - Yob accurately recreates the sound and force of The Big Bang.
Fuck. 🤘
Gets my heart racing every fucking time.
Love it !!!! mind blowing vocal and deepness !!!
Not a metal fan... in any shape or form... but this is utterly mind blowing. I'm literally shaken.
"Give it up for UNSANE" Mike KNOWS how to open a show.
Possibly the sneaky best live set on youtube...
Beautiful 🐺
On the other hand... bass sound so goddamn badass in this video, that it makes quality itself :) it's like hearing your favourite band from different perspective.
this is fucking fantastic -- just found out about these dudes -- FUCK I had been missing out.
burning the altar makes me soooooo happy!
Yob are amaising! 🔥
This is soooooooooooo fokkin good! I'm lost for words...
Adrift in the ocean... One of the best things I've heard... Fuck i'm still in shock..
1 Prepare the Ground
2 Burning the Altar
3 Adrift in the Ocean
4 Upon the Sight of the Other Shore
5 Grasping Air
I love the fact these guys have gone on to dominate and get the plaudits they have...but this is their peak form for me
such a good set, man...
Grasping Air - easily one of the best metal song from the last decade.
Want Yob to make a video game soundtrack soooo bad
I love yob! Play the uk !
Totally rules \m/
Awsome drummer ✊🏻
the bass is not too loud, the guitar is too quiet
Sooo good..
That bass tone is gnarly but its kinda all you can hear. I wish they turned up his guitar a tad more.
That bass tone... Is that a modern Thunderbird with chrome pickup covers, replacements or an old one?
majestic heavyness
This band is bad ass
I feel like I have been hit in the face by a car that was rear ended by a truck that was rear ended by a TRAIN!
GREAT BAND! FODA!
9:00 Shivers all the way DOOOOOOOOooooooown!!!
Mike's stack is a three-headed monster. Perfect for doom metal! 50:46
Wow, from 2:15 to about 3:35 the bass sounds like dogs barking.
You can find the setlist at:

Super power trio!!! muito bom...puta que pariu!
awesome set! YOB destroys! 14:39

Can Maxime Coste redo the mix and include the guitar tracks?
Earthquake = YOB !
Holly fuck man. this band is the new god !
27:30. perfection
what's the name of the track at 27:20 please guys !
Umbriel Daedras Adrift in the Ocean
Umbriel Daedras Love that track....the vocals are awesome!
Does anyone know what kind of pedals the bassist is using?
Saw them live in Spokane last week and the bass was so blown out we couldn't even listen to it.
Pesado e intenso!!!!!
49m45s shouts of abyss
@2:08 turn ON the heavy switch lol

MIKE IS GOD !!

setlist anyone? i need to know what that riff was around 21:00 specifically so fuckin heavy!!!!
It's a custom made Monson Guitar.
that is the nastyist bass i have ever heard
I say turn the bass up
Lots of bass
What kind of guitar is that guy playing?
Its a Monson Nomad
TODO SI! Adhiero a lo que dijo BEBU1973!
first song a little bass heavy on the mix, still good
I'd say the bass is right, the guitar is just too quiet... the opposite problem from most metal mixes, strangely enough.
holy sludge
name of the 1st song???
prepare the ground
They're so fucking weird. Not from this planet. Or I'm not from this planet, or just nothing is nowhere. Now here.
Name of the first song anyone?
Iisisch Fjoer Prepare The Ground
Playback Speed 2x
:D
I've seen Yob several times, and their sound is always impeccaple, this mix is just really poor, and I can't believe anyone has even cared mixing it. Bass is way too high, and the guitar is barely audible, what the hell.

O. M. F. G. 9:01
im sure Maxime Coste is a bass player...
Give it up for UNSANE
If they would play one song in one hour. That would be nice. Instead they played several songs in one set. In my world, that is pop music. :/
It's like Devin Townsend and Chris Cornell had a baby.
