Thank you, Kino. I find this course extremely helpful, especially for my hip joints. I used to be very flexible, my back and the rest is still OK, but the hip joints make some movements difficult. I can feel much better now.
Kino is a best guide. I have great love and affection for her. I am glad she was student of Mr Pattabhi Jois, yoga exponent and colleague of great yoga exponent Dr BKS Iyengar. I practice and teach yoga for the lost 27 years. I love her flexibility. Let god bless her. I practice Iyengar yoga which is very very close to what I am practicing and teaching. Thank you

Hey Kino!! I just watched the Purple Vally Interview with you and Tim. It was really cool hearing you guys share and the interviewer had some great questions.
As a child, I experienced very stressful things which have the capacity make my mind feel constantly rushed. I know that yoga practice has helped me find balance from the trauma and avoid feelings of unnecessary obligation so prevalent in people in modern times. This rushed feeling, I think has much to do with the general addiction in the west to feeling a need to respond to people or address them when they acknowledge us verbally, because of a possible obsession we have with verbal communication in general.
@@Zissithegreat Yes. A lot. I feel a little like an outcast where I live, as people of the world have become more rigid and closed-minded. I may find myself moving to a place where mindfulness is more of a priority.
@@LoganSmithtaichi Have you found any places of this kind already? What are they like? As a person suffering under severe hearing loss my life became really isolated. Being able to communicate is one of the human's most social skills. Not being able to anymore confronts me with permanent feelings of grief and turned me into an outcast too, not mentioning this Corona insanity in peolpe and their behaviour everywhere. I'm somehow searching for a similar place, where I may combine my own healing, Yoga and what I learned from my struggles so far. I really hope I cannot only be a light in not giving up against the increasing rigidness around me but also showing people how blessed they are with what they have. Recently I found out there are ashrams in Germany. O.o So if everything goes to waste... last exit. ;-D (Obviously I'm no native speaker, please excuse any mistake. I'm still learning how to communicate nonviolently =))

Take care to modify if you have active pain, yogis. The up-to-down dog chatarunga sequence is too much. Also, forward folding isn't normally recommended for sciatica, although getting in and out of down dog carefully might feel good. Namaste to all!

I am just getting back into yoga practice after a gap of several years, and I need a modification for the rotating the ribcage around the bent knee pose. At this point my shoulder is nowhere near my knee (contact point is just above my elbow), so I cannot wrap my arm back around for the bound version --- is there a modification?

Love your yoga many of these stretches are great for sciatica but no chatarunga that’s actually impossible if you have sciatica. If someone can do it then they don’t have sciatica. My guess is you’ve never had sciatics.
There are a few factors in books on yoga booty exercises . One place I found that successfully combines these is the Yanas yoga results (google it if you're interested) definately the most helpful guide that I have ever heard of. Check out the incredible information .

I had the same problem when I first started practicing. A common problem is improper alignment in the arms when doing urdhva mukha svanasana( upward facing dog). It's easy to push to far forward when coming up, leading to an overstretch of the wrist. Try to keep in mind that the shoulders should be right over your hands and the arms kept straight and vertical. Hope this helps and that your wrists get better soon :-)
