"Local man rambles as worm continues to eat through his cortex"
"Touching paper, makes my teeth hurt" -Brendanal 4/20/69
I encourage this behavior
The fifty shades series is a pretty good read according to all of the unsatisfied mothers on my bus
I actually really like this series, I hope you keep doing it!
I love this series already.
Read this series, it made me want a mod that turns Fallouts 4's Nick Valentine into Garrett
Every book by Brandon Sanderson is priceless.
UtaShirokage AMVs I wouldn't go so far as to say every book but he does have some good ones
Hi senpai daddy
dont inflict senpain upon yourself please
I love you daddy senpai
is that a fuckin' haiku?!
Scratching (or hearing scratching) against certain surfaces gives me goosebumps. Like some couches.
I would suggest the Dresden files series, a PI wizard in s modern setting
Already read them, love em. Should've mentioned them in the video but I'm also a big fan of Jim Butcher. Codex Alera is a pretty good standard fantasy series and then his current steampunk stuff is....alright.
I'm I just finished changes and working my way to the end, haven't decided if I'd read his other work
Agree completely about books. Also love this series, I've never found anything that comes close.
Can't wait till Jan. 31st of 2018! Can't wait for the next Brenpai's Book Club vid!
Paper makes your... Teeth hurt?
+Christopher McSweeney everyone has those weird things. Touching paper can make my teeth hurt sometimes. It's all in my head but I can't do anything about it.
I'm reading right now the Five Kingdoms series by Brandon Mull. Its pretty much a generic "kid saves a fantasy world by going to all the cool places" thing but I really like the world its in. Because it's divided in 5 kingdoms and the weird thing is that when you cross the border, the magic starts behaving in a different way. So for example in the first kingdom you could make magic artifacts and in the second one you can only make illusions so the artifacts stop working and now there's a shitton of disguises and secret entrances. Basically the author found an excuse to make completely different universe but keep the main cast every book. And I really like it.
"Books are just words" eye opening
You should read "We are legion we are bob"
Its a sci fi book about a guy who gets turned into an ai and put in a self replicating space ship.
Also theres every book by Terry Pratchett, his books are really good, the discworld series of books is very good.
I love this series, it's great entertainment and a good take on a more realistic fantastic world.
Hope you continue this series. Also what do you think is better Wheel of Time or Game of Thrones?
Sam Mcclain I prefer Wheel Of Fortune, thank you very much.
I recommend The Night Angle Trilogy. that shits good
Do more of this. I've been getting into reading more in the last year and I need some recommendations.
There isn't many book reviews on this site. This is great since I'm thinking about getting back into reading
I loved your "A Real Doll" video and I've been hoping you would read more actual real short stories.
He knows he's handsome af, right?
Yes, with the hair of a 7 year old. lol
This was a decent video Brendaniel. I like books, and I'd like to see more book related content from you, but I think it would work better if the video was longer and more in depth. Like, instead of picking a series and just talking about some of it's themes, pick one book and give a full synopsis of it's plot, talk about what worked and what didn't work. Kind of like Thug Notes, but more casual and with a focus on reviewing the book instead of analyzing it's literary significance.
Great idea! I love this concept. You seem like you genuinely enjoy doing this! Have you read any Discworld books? If not, based on what you've said here I feel like you'd really really enjoy those books.
I know you said sci-fi is iffy for you, but I would highly recommend the Honor Harrington series by David Weber. It's high space opera with epic fleet-versus-fleet battles. His books always start off somewhat slow, with politics and intrigue and personal feuds, but in the last 20% of every book there's a massive escalation into epic battles that sustains itself extremely well until the resolution.
I just finished Starship Troopers so I'll give em a look. sounds like they'll be fun.
Brendaniel have you read any of Neal Gaiman's stuff?
Him and Stephen King are really good, also H.P Lovecraft is a classic
+Visitor Information American Gods and Good Omens are personal favorites of mine.
I'm still working through the Dresden Files. Those are pretty solid, along with anything I've read by Dan Abnett. I just got the first book in the Witcher series, but haven't started yet.
If you enjoy the fantasy realm of detectives or something in this form, i highly suggest Blackblood. It is a decent story of a cop in a city that is basically hell or purgatory. Also has a prequel which is decent but best read after reading Blackblood.
I loved the Black Company, but I was always afraid to read any of the other books by Glen Cook for fear nothing could live up to it. Now maybe I will.
Please do more of these. I want to feel classy.
When your mic pops my pants drops.
I would enjoy this series
May I suggest a future video on the Sharpe series? The nippoleonic whores is one of my favorite periods, and I'd love to hear what you think about it and the books.
Please do more book videos~ I'm starting English literature this year so I am likely going to have to read actual books throughout the subject (don't read much besides fanfiction and manga) So it would be great if resident kool kid brendaniel recommended me some decent books!
gb2gayville . ur dad. is wait ~
Read this series and black company. Amazing author. I gotta find where to download these books again.
please do more of this papabrenpai
My favorite book is probably Earth by David Brin, it's a great book. It's pretty sci-fi, but, I think you'd like it. It's got a lot of character/world development. It's also got a little bit of a dystopian-ness feel, and it's also got a bit of "action/ SAVE THE WORLD" to it. Oh, another great book is "Kiln People" by Brin as well. It's a bit more of a detective like story.
Another book series I'd highly recommend is Song of Albion series by Stephen Lawhead. Fantastic fantasy novels, almost as good as Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. All great reads!
I love your greasy face. Also, continue this series pls
You should read the Gone series by Michael Grant. nobody ever talks about that and its a horror series about murderous superpowered children between one and fifteen, with no adult interaction because they're in a bubble from some scifi creature who tries to contril them like Under the Dome meets Lord of the Flies
How about the Riftwar series by Raymond Feist. It goes across time, space dimensions, hell. And has snake people. Or The Lost Fleet series by Jack Campbell, a scifi series that actually has things like the great distances in space matter. Plus almost all of the people forgot how to do much in the way of space tactics other than go up and try to punch the other guy in the face. Robert Aspirin's Phule and Myth series were also interesting.
This doesn't fit into the genres Bren is talking about, but "How to Ruin Everything" essays George Watsky is pretty entertaining.
idk if you'll like it or if youve read it already but I enjoyed the Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, Eldest, etc.).
I really like the chaos walking series, great books in my opinion.
If you do read the witcher do tell us what they're like, I've been interested in reading them since playing the games
I dont know if you like sny of them but I always like reading the dark tower series, the recall series, and the castaways of the flying Dutchman series.
Have you ever read "the wind up bird chronicle"? If not, its really trippy, I'd check it out.
If you're looking for more noir, the Crispin Guest series by westerson was one I quite liked. Film Noir set in medieval England with some Indiana Jones type occultism.
brendaniel you could try the ringworld book series. it's a good sci-fi book that maintains its sense of humor.
Love Glenn Cook, but I've never gotten around to reading his Garret P.I. books. I keep meaning to, but always put something else in front of them. The Black Company is one of my favorite Fantasy books series.
I would suggest the Philip Marlowe books by Raymond Chandler for a more traditional, but well written, P.I. story set in 1940s.
For Fantasy, if you haven't read Michael Moorcock, the Elric books or the Chronicles of Corum are great.
Old tin sorrows from Cook is based on the big sleep
"The wheel of time" series, I think theres 11 books now and its really good, maybe you read them theyre kinda old written by Robert Jordan, though the original author passed away around the 8th book if I remember right but Brandon Sanderson took it over and hes written some of my favorite books too though I'm not to where it changes yet. I'm on the 8th book now. If youre into like magic and swords kinda fantasy this one heres really nice.
Books don't need to be charged.
I remember reading the gregor the overlander series as a kid and really enjoying it, not sure how its held up but maybe you should check it out
The Ciaphas Cain books are pretty fun.
If you like fantasy you'll love "journey to the west"
brenpai how do i contact you, I got a fic Id like you to read. cant find an email link so I left in your disscussions on the main page
I definitely like the idea of you making more of these. I've just read "Perdido Street Station" by China Mieville, and I definitely recommend it. It's an incredibly creative fantasy with elements of Lovecraftian horror.
time to read
If you're into comic books, I highly recommend the Baltimore series by Mike Mignola (The guy who wrote Hellboy) Honestly tho Baltimore is one of my absolute favorite comic books I've ever read. I don't want to spoil much, but it's about how WW1 was such a bloody and devastating war, that it awakens vampires from their long ass slumber and they set out into the world to seek vengeance on mankind also the vampires create basically a fungal zombie disease to also screw things even up more. The book follows the story of a dude named Baltimore, an ex-British soldier who is on the hunt to kill the vampire that started it all. I recommend it if you love alternate history, violent fantasy, dark/gothic fantasy, WW1, or Mike Mignola, 9/10
So, like the opening of hellboy, but a full book?
Yeah, there is, I guess you can call it, a prequel, except this was written first. It's called Baltimore or the Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire. It basically is the story of Baltimore but from three different accounts of Baltimore's friends, and I'm pretty sure that's a whole book. The comic books follow Baltimore from either an omnipotent narration or sometimes a first person narration. I'm only on the comic books, so I can't tell you much about the full length novel, I'll have to pick it up some time
Osterreich Sounds dope.
the teeth hurt thing i only get when my hand are wet and i touch paper. also when im holding or using chalk.
Josie fuck chalk. Messes with me too
Have you read any Anne Rice or Laurell K. Hamilton?
I definitely enjoy book review, could use a bit more structure and script though
touching paper fucks with my teeth as well but I've got sensory problems so
Nice series
I think you should read the three body problem.
It seems like nobody likes Garrett PI. It's my favorite series.
chuck palahnuik or whatever but damned and doomed are really good of his. a little girl does dantes inferno.
The Neverending story, because the book is always better than the movie.
Hey, are you Male voice 2 in Conan Exiles? sounds like you.
Can you read Call of Cthulhu? At least that one had tentacles in it...
You should try "The Way of Kings" really good start to a great fantasy series
Can you read "The Road to Power" by Joseph Stalin?
Or Mein Kampf in its original German. Oh my god the grammar errors.
in all seriousness, make some more of these vids...
Read Logan's Run it's not a big series but it's pretty cool.
Do more

Read the Red Rising series by Pierce Brown
Brendaniel read red rising by Pierce Brown it's really good
Accelerated Reader teaches kids to hate reading.
Read the Kingkiller Chronicles. Then wonder endlessly when book three is coming.
Legit book review
(You wish this was clickbait)
I know you're probably too busy, but Perdido Street Station is an amazing dark fantasy by China Mieville. He classifies it as werid fiction, but the story is pretty easy to grasp, just the world building, and detailing on everything has some really depth to it.
Basically, a semifailed scientist has to assist a mutilated member of a bird like race, but in his work, accidently fucks the entire metropolis he lives in, and people are getting their minds blanked and no one can sleep. There is a lot of weirdness that happens, so it's hard to recommend if Dune was as you described and you didn't like it, because in this universe one moment you're following the middle aged main character and his beetle headed girlfriend as they eat breakfast, then there is a giant fuck all spider that the government has, and can cut in and out of reality with its scissors. But. if you end up digging it, there are 2 sequels which are more focused and have almost nothing to do with the original, just more stories in the world of Bas-Lag.
brendaniel do u like terry Pratchett stuff
+hjördís read some of the Mort books. Pretty good. Death is my boy.
I'd be OK with anything from Jack London
Can we please read Mein Kampf? Its a great book, great morals - very insightful prose.
