the vigilance (DSD) pedal is applying the emergency brakes the moment you stand up. IRL the moment your foot is removed from it with the direction handle in either Forward or reverse it will make a loud repetitive beeping noise before applying the emergency brakes. from my experience on class 50s and I imagine many other EE locos there is no manual isolation swich for obvious reasons although the DSD control box can be unplugged. However I'm pretty sure tsw4 diesels have one added in the cab to make gameplay easier along with a few other things such as the BIS (which is normally a big handle on the outside) also once the train brake pressure passes a certain point a contactor comes in preventing the locomotive from applying power.
I believe the reason it wouldn't move isn't because of the brakes, it is because of wheel slip. He put the 40s onto full throttle immediately which meant because of the heavy load it couldn't get going. You can see this when he is sat down at 5:00 and then he stands up after the wheels stop again.
Ah, a modeled dead man's switch! That's pretty cool(albeit unfortunate)! The dead man's switch acts as a way to _prevent_ runaway trains. It's a pedal that has to be depressed by the driver/engineer's foot at all times, otherwise the train's throttle is disabled and the brakes applied in emergency. Pretty cool the Class 40 has it in game, buuuuut unfortunate for our cause. Oh well!
that's exactly correct and is what I said in the comment to him. basically, these trains have sensors and wires underneath their seat or perhaps inside the seats. when you sit on the seat, the pressure from your weight presses the wires and connects to the power sources, (Similar to how you plug something into a socket) and this adds power to motors. but these wires disconnect when you stand up, so there's no longer any power supplied to the train motors, so it won't move. that's the safety feature that most trains had in the past, now its all about parking brake, emergency shutdown brakes and other stuff.
Why are the whistles in the UK (Britain) so high pitched, like no matter the size, they are always high pitched. If you look at the U.S locomotives, they have a lot of BIG locomotives, 4014 Big Bog for example, low/deep whistle and a small porter 0-4-0 betty has a nice high-pitched whistle. I just don't get it. Also, my country (Australia) has different pitched whistles based on locomotive size to an extent. But even still they have medium/middle pitched to low pitched whistles. So, can someone explain or give a history fact about it?!
The title should have been: Class 40's and his twin's failed escape from Sodor. (If you wonder why it was because sir topham hat decided to build a special jail shed for engines that commited crimes. Class 40 decided to steal a hat from the guy who got his hat sucked into Class 40. Then, Class 40 and his twin were caught and was sentenced to jail. But they ran away and was later caught)
The class 40 has different brake notches, with the oil tankers, it needs to be set with vacuum freight, you probably had it in a different brake setting, trust me, it took me an hour to figure that out my first time, yes i started swearing and calling it an old stuck up .😅 the notch is located in the back of the cab by the door on the side of the handbrake its under the fire alarm.
Maybe a bowler hat got sucked into the air intake. That would explain why the Class 40 wouldn't move. 😂🤣
i got that Joke Hahahaha Well Said XD
@@LaZeRJET Mm'yes, quite.
Maybe it's the hat of Jet's player than can't be seen
Class 40 t&f reference. Bro got freaking destroyed by a tiny hat.
@@se-os6xtIt's a Class 40 diesel engine. Someone was bound to make this joke at some point. I'm glad it was me.

Proper British traction class 40 that’s won’t move and loads of freight with tea in it 😂😂
Lesson learned: We all make mistakes (and the class 40 is definitely not the train to reenact a runaway train)

I was thinking that
although not there in real life I'm pretty sure locos like the 40 and 37 do have an isolation swich added

1:09 you can never have to much tea!
Man i feel so nice watching you again used to watch your videos whne i was a little child i feel so relaxed and nicewatchung your videso again
What locomotive control desk/panel/controller do you use? A Logitech?
It must have been that the Class 40 Diesel Locomotive must have had engine troubles on its own, resulting it not to start up…
Hi Lazer big fan been watching since you play the og crew

OMG HE LISTENED TO MY IDEA!!!. Thank you soon much Oliver.
it would be cool if you made a video over your top 10 favorite locomotives
@LaZeRJET the tankers behind the class 40s were not carrying tea they are carrying Oil, TEA is the name of the wagon👍
oh Right... i'm so Silly like i said i am an Idiot lol but thank you for letting me Know
@@LaZeRJEThi LaZeR JET I love your RUclips videos and I watch them all the time ❤❤❤❤❤
@@LaZeRJET don’t worry many people can make that mistake and I can see why, your not an idiot Oliver many people make mistakes
I may be very tired rn but I’m still gonna watch it
‘TEA’ is not the cargo. It’s the type of wagon that it is
TEA is the tank type I think but what’s in the tank is oil or some flammable liquid
Lazerjet (please reply) the TEA is the type of tanker basically theirs different types of freight wagons (if you wanna know more you can search it)
yeah just found out i'm so silly
Its fine
When are you going to stream?
why are there some parts of the Braves locomotive?
Cool
How do you get that game
It’s the dead man’s pedal it needs to be down for it to work
Do more and next time do it with steam locomotive only
Hi lazerjet
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Try it with the class 37 it works
Hey Lazer are u watching dad rail when i am sending this comment at 21:54 in real life time
I’m Going to see it tomorrow at my town called Worcestershire 0:15
Can’t you just sit and then once moving stand up?
No. There is a pedal that detects if someone has their foot on it. If no one has their foot in the pedal the train will apply emergency brakes.
Well that's ashame
Do this on train simulator classic
Oh Dear That Was A Waste Of Time
I mean the title does say it doesn’t run😅
I think it's because there's too many cars
If i cant Drive that engine when IT wont move then, idk why i bought IT for noting?!
It can move. Only when you are sitting in the drivers seat.
Hey renember me?
😂🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
DUM DUM
Yo btw first
