As someone with a depressed alcoholic father and a violent and delusional mother eager to believe just about every conspiracy on the internet, this episode slapped me in the face with just how much I tried to help them through comfort, positive talking and self sacrifice. I am glad that at least Courage managed to save his loved one before they lost themselves.
Nice video. I guess in my perspective, it did not seem like 'they took it too far' with this episode. Seemed pretty in-line with some other episodes and shows at the time. I watched Courage a lot as a kid, and this episode didn't bother me, and yes, I was aware of the story's context. I was actually interested in the entity within the quilt that the sisters had a deal with. This was pretty good summary, though.
I think of this episode as one of most epic and heroic Courage's saves. I don't think it was necessarily scary, but for sure involved a very difficult situation, very hard to turn around. To me the scariest is Remembrance of Courage Past, because it is one of the few episodes that deals with actual trauma from the real world, and the monsters are the human beings.
I think the hidden message in this episode is about family members joining cults and doing everything you can to save them from ruining their own life before it's too late.
Honestly, this one didn’t bother me. The one that *did* bother me was the episode that ends with Eustace and Muriel getting turned into puppets and not having a fixed ending. That and the sea-witch/demon episodes were the only episodes that really bothered me.
@@TheCartoonCorruption yeah, and to my knowledge, it was the only episode that full stop had a “bad ending” ending with no upside moment or indication that the issue would be fixed off screen (like when Eustace ended up getting vaporized, the ending had him growing back via a potted plant). It was just a “they’re puppets now and courage is desperately trying to save any scrap/remnant of a normal life through puppetry them, goodnight.”
I can say The Mask took it farther and that was an interesting episode. And just like this episode they both tackled dark real world topics. With this episode tackling being in a cult and loosing yourself to the cult.

I’m so sorry

...no? If anything, we need more shows of this quality/caliber nowadays.
honestly, the grim adventures of billy and mandy was darker
Ehh it's about even
The earlier seasons were 😨
way too comedic but Courage was more serious
Honestly, I think the king ramses one was much scarier
where can i watch the whole ep???

That one was definitely off putting

Nothing beats King Ramses curse as the most nightmare fuel episode in my opinion, that gave me sleepless nights.
No i don't agree. This ep is par for the course. It shows that cults are evil
Courage the Cowardly Dog is a dark show that I enjoyed watching. It's so scary and funny. The Quilt Club still terrified me
😨😨😨😱😱😱🐶🐶🐶
reminds me of a cult
It is
