This version has more lucky moments than strategy, concepts introduced in MKWii and MK8 like the tailgating boost and ramp tricks actually make it more skill based. also this version only has 4 cups.... only 4.... even mariokart 64 had more tracks!

6:03 This happened to me once when I was in college, but I was hit by a blue shell instead of a green one. Got me from 1st to 7th place. Also, the last glitch on Bowser's Castle happened to me once, but instead of being on 2nd lap, I was actually about to finish the track, and the game placed me over there even though I finished the track. Good times !
It’s funny how he first mentioned Mushroom Bridge, since a new glitch/shortcut (2018) was recently found there by the current world champion player (Goomba; he has an active YT channel), which amazingly came after about 13 YEARS of no shortcuts found. It’s called “The Soduku Method”-the move is pretty much done by riding off the bridge so that you fall so close to the other side of the map, that the game counts it as crossing the checkpoint at that area; then, as soon as Lakitu drops you off at the bridge, you simply rush to the finish line and the game will count it for you as a lap; then, rinse and repeat. There’s a couple other steps & rules involved, but yeah; it’s awesome :D
Wait, not being able to be shocked after taking damage is a glitch? I thought this was normal, unless you're supposed to be shockable only when you don't have a star.
You do realize this is in multiple mario kart games, (meaning that it's most likely a mechanic) right? It's not just in double dash, in my experience it is in MK Wii, MK DS, MK7, and MK8. While i'm not entirely sure if it's supposed to happen with lightning as this works with any other item, such as being hit by a red shell and being able to shrug off a blue one momentarily, or not being able to be hit by 3 shells at once, I do know that you have some "invincibility time", meaning that you can't get hit consecutively, by, say two banana peels in a straight line, as you'll just plow right through them.
I preferred MK64 before MK8 came out. Was more skill focused to me when playing against friends. Items felt less intrusive/debilitating. DD was my least favorite because it felt slippery while DS was second least favorite since it had snaking... everyone just played as Drybones with his little tank cart so they could just get larger mini-turbo boosts. It killed an otherwise great game for me.
Calypto you know that argument doesn’t hold up at all right? Pretty sure there are people who played both extensively and will say DD is better. I know I have a slight preference for DD but it and DS are both fantastic mario kart games at the end of the day. Go back to both of them every now and then and there still just as fun as when I first played them.

3:29 This glitch works because lightning "spins" the target. There are 3 types of hits. Spin, Tumble, & Launch. All of them are self-explanatory, so carrying on. Items work in damage tiers from each of the 3. A kart cannot be spun whilst tumbling, or tumbled mid-launch.

I did the Dry Dry Desert Finish Line glitches at every opportunity as a kid lmao. I couldn't stop laughing when the cart literally went to last place after finishing while trying to get back onto the road from the desert
I actually kind of discovered my own glitch in the game. When on any menu screen with options in all 4 directions, for some reason if you rotate the control stick clockwise for a little while, then start rotating it the opposite direction really quickly after, the game thinks the control stick is still moving clockwise. I have no idea why, but it’s kind of interesting.

The thunderbolt glitch works right after getting hit by any item, not just Fake Item Boxes. Been saved a lot of trouble from that glitch in random occasions.

Spiny Shell Glitch: In MK8, online on Yoshi Valley, a player threw the Blue Shell, but it got confused and ended up with the Blue Shell scrambling around the course trying to find me. And it didn't.
