- Former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker's testimony will continue in Donald Trump's New York criminal trial Friday morning, a day after he revealed new details about the alleged "catch and kill" scheme he engaged in for the Trump campaign in 2016. News-lady, it’s “former president “ he’s not president.
Although you are correct, the adjective "former" is usually not added when someone speaks of "President Carter," "President Clinton," "President Bush," and "President Obama" in casual conversation, so saying "President Trump" should be acceptable in that context. For formal documentation regarding any former president, such as legal documents, the word "former" should be added or the word "President" should be left out. And no, I am not a Trump supporter. I just believe in consistency.

Why does CBS refer to Trump as "the president"? As far as I am aware, we only have one President at a time in this country.

The media have adopted the convention of referring to former Presidents as "President X" (even though that is not correct, either) but referring to a former president as "THE President" is beyond the pale. Trump is not THE President.
Anybody that's ever been president gets to still be called president forever. not former president, not ex-president... they are always referred to as president

That exorbitant price (more than twice the amount of the most expensive the lectern company offers for sale) was paid to her best friend's newly founded company that likely would not really be in the business of selling such an item.(Just before their Paris trip) And when questioned about it; the office personnel were told to pull receipts and hand write a notation about being reimbursed with no date.
Why are media personnel still referring to him as the president when he's not at the moment???
