Single knock down and 2 consecutive punch to the side of the head without a nu hand defense for blocking. Seems too early but the ref had to make a call or else he will be blame for permanent head injury to Jessica. You do have a legitimate reason why it's a quick stoppage but I can also see the flip side that the MMA doesn't want fighter to have a serious injury or open to lawsuits. This is the same quick stoppage when Rose won the title against Wei Li during their first meeting. It was a quick down down and quicj couple of head blows before the Ref calls it. Wei Li came back up quickly and looks like she can go too.

I watched this fight live and I remember that short hook that took Andrade down, but I forgot how much Yan was already dominating Andrade with her crisp kicks and counter-punching. Before this knockdown, there were already half a dozen big shots from Yan that hit Andrade cleanly in the face. It's to Andrade's credit that she was able to stay vertical until the last hook that took her down. On her feet, it was only a matter of time before Yan beat her. Yan is faster, has more range, and could match Andrade's power. I've watched the Yan-Weili fight. Until now I always thought that Weili, although not the best striker in terms of speed and skill, could beat most women on her feet. For example It felt like Lemos was slightly better than Weili as a striker, but while Weili landed fewer shots, her great chin and power allowed her to be about even on their feet, and of course she won it against Lemos on the ground. After watching Yan-Weili, it seems that Yan would beat Weili pretty handily every time if they stayed on their feet the whole time. Yan is faster, is better technically, and could match Weili's power. As we all know, Weili realized that and took Yan to the ground, and that was that. Yan needs to work VERY hard on her ground game now. If she can get ground game to Weili's level, she could take the belt from Weili.

Yan has one chance... to stay out of range, and pick Zhang apart. If Zhang gets inside, or grabs her... it is over. Andrade has always depended upon her strength, and was really dumb in this fight. Although she was very coherent after that knockdown, it shouldn't have been stopped that quickly.
