I ended up doing both res deletes, if you are thinking about doing it DO IT IT WAS WORTH IT COMPLETLEY. NO DRONE AND ECO IS JUST AS QUITE AS STOCK. If you want pops and loud whips in sport without waking your neighbors in comfort you have to do this. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
I think this was worth it, it’s pretty loud with this done. I didn’t want to mess with downpipes since my car would require a bench unlock for the dme if I want to tune it. Also, I didn’t want to do anything to the factory warranty that the car currently has.
@@biglez5555 very true, I thought about doing that on the F10 535 I had prior after I did a stage 1 tune. For now though, I just want to wait to do anything too major while it’s under the full factory warranty. Once that goes away, I might look into doing a tune and other things.
The car has been great overall. The only issue I've had and still have is that sometimes when the trunk closes, it makes a clunk sound. The dealer has replaced both struts that they said were broken but the noise is still there sometimes. I've been asking them to look at it for almost 2 years and they can't figure it out. The trunk works fine, just makes a noise once in awhile when it hits the latch. Everything else has been awesome with it and enjoy every second of driving it.
You can hear it for sure in the cabin in sport but in comfort it can be as quiet as stock unless you really get on it. I originally wanted a full cat back but decided to just do this for now and I love it. I may eventually do the muffler but I’m pretty happy for now. You can’t really go wrong especially if you hang onto the resonators to reverse it if you don’t like it. $200 well spent though.
It shouldn’t. I’m sure if something goes wrong with some other piece of the exhaust, they’d avoid covering that but it’s not really going to impact anything else.
@@stevenvujacic7002 sweet, I wasn’t sure how good a resonator delete would sound and I was looking at getting a full cat back system but decided to just have a local shop throw in some straights to see how it sounded before blowing a ton on a full system. @@BMWDRVR most definitely. I know the m550 has a big muffler to block out all the rasp. So putting an x pipe would pretty much just be making it sound less aggressive
@@BMWDRVR hey man i never modified a cars exhaust before so i have a few questions if u dont mind. 1. for the dual resonator delete and the straight pipe replacement, did you have to buy the pipes or was the shop able to do it for you? if so, does that apply to mostly all shops? 2. im planning on also getting a muffler delete. Cold Start: louder but not obnoxious, the valves are closed by default in all modes on cold start. Comfort: Seems almost the same as stock unless you go heavy on the pedal to where the valves open some. Normal driving and normal acceleration sounds stock, on the inside at least. Adaptive: Same as comfort but opens valves more often and you can hear it for a few moments until you let off. Sport: Never use, but I’d imagine it’s the same as sport+ Sport+: A lot louder than stock and upshift pops are pretty loud along with burbles. You can drive in sport+ and still keep the pops under control, just have to learn the RPMs the car likes to do them in. It doesn’t drone though, I almost always drive in sport+ and it’s still pretty quiet once the RPMs get down. Slight accelerations sound good though even when you’re not going full throttle. Eco: only have used this a few times on highway, sounds the same as comfort. Warm start in Sport+ has a nice burble and I’ve had people come up and say it sounds cool. I’ve also had people say the same thing as I roll by with light burbles. I’m sure people would hate it if I made it pop really loud (which I can do at the right RPM and letting up just right), unless you’re into that.
@@BMWDRVR Sounds like a 2020 M550i really could be my next car possibly! I got a 21 STI right now, but trying to get something more comfortable and faster. @@KingZD1 it’s a pretty awesome car for sure. I always drive it with the paddles because I don’t want it to always hold at higher RPMs when I’m cruising around. That’s what I was saying though, you’ll have to learn the RPMs that work for your car to get the pops you want. I have mine figured out pretty well.
