    Thanks for the video, I would like to mention that SATA is a data cable i.e. it transfers data and has nothing to do with power. Hence, it's better to avoid using the terminology "SATA Power". There is another cable to provide power to the drive, so basically there are two cables for every drive whether it's HD or SDD: one for the power and the other for data.

    What is the best source of info as it relates to what cables are necessary. I am a first time builder and have a basic understanding of how it works I just want to make sure I am not screwing it up by leaving cables out that are needed

    • @MaxsTech
      @MaxsTech  3 года назад

      Well every component needs power. So your motherboard will take the 24pin/ top left cpu power (the 4 or 8, some have even more, depends on the board), harddrives and DVD roms need sata power, and if your graphics card requires power you'll need to plug whatever it needs into it. Might be a 6 or 8 pin, depends on the graphics card.

    • @MaxsTech
      @MaxsTech  2 года назад

      Huh...well thats the first I've heard of something like that. The first thing that comes to mind is cost, perhaps it was just easier/cheaper to design that way. I would need to look more into it, seems useless since you can give video cards more power directly.

    • @MaxsTech
      @MaxsTech  4 года назад +1

      Some cards require more power than others. Are you using a 6 pin power directly from your P/S? Or did you get a molex to 6 lin adapter? If you find your pc crashing in high graphic intense applications it may not be getting enough power, could be your P/S or if you used an adapter as mentioned before.

    • @sixterr_1180

      @@MaxsTech If it is wrong on the P/S how do I fix that? I dont understand much at all about computers the only thing I am concerned after is that i bought a graphics card which doesn` fill the fps that other people gets. I just wonder if it is some kind of thing to do to fix so that i can have more watts in the Graphics card. At the moment i onle have one 6 pin and a displayport in the graphics card if it could be something with that.

    PC PART PICKER- The Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Corsair CX 600 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it. Please explain this message. Thanks

    • @MaxsTech
      @MaxsTech  4 года назад

      So its basically saying the power the board offers would be limited. So the 4 pin is *additional* power. Where your cpu will have plenty of power to run without it, but the board is offering extra power if you decide to overclock the chip. You can still O.C. the chip but eventually you will be limited by the amount of power, this extra 4 pin power gives you extra room to O.C. even further if you want

    • @ARCHILAKHAN
      @ARCHILAKHAN 4 года назад

      @@MaxsTech But this message is not popping up when I change my motherboard to any other B550. It's just with this ROG board. And When I see the details of this ROG on it's website, I don't see anything different. SHould I ignore this message completely or should I select some other brand's MOBO? My question might be dumb however. Please excuse me for that. And thanks for your reply as well.
