Really appreciate your channel Brian! You got me flying again! Left the hobby 10 years ago but you got me up to date in no time. Love the overall vibe of the channel. Feels like more than RC and ‘camera crew’ is awesome! Thanks again! Best regards from The Netherland 🇳🇱
That is awesome! We're really trying to help with this transition from "retired" to flying again!
Big respect for the camera crew! This is just the best rc flight channel on RUclips. You make it look so easy, I only fly with save on as I am still a beginner but love this part of the rc hobby. Besides rc cars and sailing boats you both got my into flying. Thx for that! Greetings from the Netherlands!
Thanks, and we're honored to have you in our audience! Thanks
Just to let you (and you guys from Horizon) know, I've preordered mine. What you and your wife are doing for us as a community is brilliant. Thanks again for all the help 😃👌
Awesome, thank you! We appreciate you Chris!!! Just an FYI, they can see when my followers order, so they can keep track of our performance ;) This is the best thing you can do to help support our channel!
Omg you guys do that plane so much justice. Good job and that flight time very impressed. Thanks guys love the video.
Our pleasure & Thanks Robert!
Probably this is going to be my first HH plane, to start flying again !! Thanks again for the great flying and reviews. Loving your videos ! ( Thanks camera crew :D ! )
Hope you enjoy it! This is a GREAT plane to get back into it with, and flies amazing!
This bird just seems to rip. Gorgeous too. I have too many in my hanger now but I may have to make room.
Nothing a good chain link fence can't fix ;) Do you recall watching those guys that used to crash, intentionally, into fences to end their foamie's lives? I think it was called, "RC Kevorkian" - LOL!
Your depth perception is incredible
Thank you Mike! Lasic PLUS ;)
Just re-watched this video one year later... and I am still learning new things... even now that I have the plane since last March... Brilliant Brian! Thank you! Please do a video on how you trim a plane!
I'm so glad you're still watching this one, and you'll be very happy soon ;) Can't say any more...
@@BrianPhillipsRC OK! By the way: What did you mean when you said that the plane has a longer roll-out on safe? Really? Is that for all BNF planes from E-flite on safe?
Mr Brian second thoughts sold me on the plane.A little late but just ordered this plane from your link Thanks so much you and camera crew our the best .From Ohio.
Better late than never ;) This plane is a KEEPER!!! You'll love her! Thanks for the support with the purchase through our link(s), David!
Thanks Brian 😜 it would have taken me twice as long without your help 👍 I got it all Setup in the end 👍 there were a few frustrations✈️🚀👌
Fantastic! This plane is such a joy to fly! Good luck on your maiden!
Love to see that EC-1500 with the skis in that snow. Best RC duo, love the videos.
Or The Twin Otter On It's Included Water Skiis + The Good Ole' Super Cub, Turbo Timber 1.5m, Piper J-3 Cub & The KingFisher 1.4m! 😉
Thanks! It would be cool ;)
That yellow against the snow background on a T28 is the perfect match .
Totally!
Camera-girl anticipates your every move, your every thought. Obviously, you two are a match made in heaven. :- ) That British girl, who you also never listen to, can't even hold a candle to camera-girl. When do we get to see camera-girl fly?
camera-CREW
Actually, Camera-crew flew their Go-Go Bird in the house on camera the other day.
Steve
She doesn't care to fly, unfortunately...but occasionally she'll take the controller and crash for you all ;)
Thank you Brian for your second thought videos. They help me prioritize my wish list. I enjoy seeing planes you really like and why you like them.
Great to hear! This plane is GREAT! I hope you end up getting one. It's simple, and does everything it does VERY well!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thank you Brian. You've been a big help to move planes from my wish list to the buy list.
The camera crew sounds sweet. Lucky you !
She is, and I am lucky ;)
The other thing I love about my NX8 micro USB charging system, is I can take my portable charger pack to the field and charge in between flights super easy when I'm at the field for a long day!
NICE! I bet if you got the 6000mAh pack, this would be unnecessary. I have the bigger pack, and noticed the stock pack (2000mAh) does deplete pretty fast.
Bigger Tx Pack - 6000mAh 3.7V - bit.ly/3bZ0nHW
Stock Tx Pack - 2000mAh 3.7V - bit.ly/35ZcHnM
I’m convinced. That’s awesome fly time! Gonna get one and try my g2 3200.🥰
Well done as always!
Thanks! This plane is so much fun!!!
And only $283.00 tax included in Canada. That’s a great deal.👍
Holy crap!!! You flew that thing forever!!! Cool plane!! Still not sure about the no balance lead packs but still kinda cool tech!
I know! It just keeps giving! I was thinking of YOU when I first heard about the setup. Here's the deal, though, as you already surely know...IC3 to IC3 or XT60 to XT60 "power tap" would solve that problem, provided you can run on 4S...if we end up having to run on full 6S packs, we'd need another BEC, basically for the fire-booty.
Just got mine today ! Thank you so much for your fantastic work in making sure us less experienced pilots get a good start on our new models 😀👍🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩
Glad I could help! We're here for you, and hope you'll be back for more!
@@BrianPhillipsRC I’m in for major cancer surgery tomorrow here in South Australia, I saw your fantastic reviews of the T28 went out and bought it so it’s ready for me to build up while I recover, I have already preprogrammed most of my nx6 from your unboxing instructions. Again my thanks 🙏 you do a great job, long may you continue to do so 😀🤘✈️✈️✈️
Heard that the motor wires can rub on the bell and short out. Going to remove the cowl and inspect. Love this T-28. Don’t want to take a chance of frying the motor. Nothing that a small zip tie can’t fix.
True, and I'll take a quick look at mine too. That would make for a huge bummer, since this plane is AWESOME! Still deciding when I want to add flaps, even thought they aren't needed, think how awesome a 15 foot landing would be ;)
I really want to get this plane, as I love the paint scheme more than the 1.2m but the lack of retracts and flaps is a bit of a deal breaker. Damn. Thanks for putting this thing under a microscope, Brian...
yes, and the 1.1m is a super easy to fly plane, whereas the 1.2m will challenge you more, but only since you'll want to be buzzing the tower at full speed ;)
Got one, it's such great plane and huge value for the money! I was visiting another RC field and a guy was flying one, when he landed the entire top side of the plane was faded almost to WHITE! I asked how long he had it and how much he flew it. Said about a year and a half and he few every week as he lived close to the field, the sun had faded it out he few it so much! It had no signs of any crashes! Super solid plane!
WOW - Talk about some hours on her :) This plane is a winner!
Love to see a split screen watching your fingers on the sticks. As a near newbie no one has a video showing how to not over control.
As a full scale pilot I tend to over react to about everything.
Great job. Freezing too.
Ah. Youth has its advantages.
Thanks in advance.
I know what you're saying, but as with full scale flying and many other muscle memory based skills, you tend to get better with loads of practice.
All I can say to ease your concerns, is that you will "get it" at some point. It takes time and repetition. As long as you're a little better pilot each time you fly, and you learn from each mistake, you will get there - I promise. You probably think I'm trying to sell you something here, but I'm really not. This is not just BS...you can do it...but you have to take the time to work out these nerves.
Also, as you've certainly already figured out, and I'm sure it annoys you to no end, but flying RC is a whole different skill set from flying full scale ;) Knowing about flight characteristics and HOW things work, and how they're supposed to work, does not replace the fact that your thumb is now in control...
Here's some advice that you can put into practice TODAY - Increase EXPO on all three axis by 15-25% from what you're running now, and you'll notice an immediate improvement in your flight performance, but you will eventually want to back that down to closer to where I recommend, or the manual recommends. Try not to exceed 50% on BNF planes with AS3X and SAFE...as this CAN cause some issues.
Keep at it. This takes time, and loads of patience! Don't overthink things too much. MAKE A FLIGHT PLAN BEFORE YOU GO UP! Use a spotter, when you're new at RC it's tough to "lead" the plane the way you need to too have success.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I had a Beech Travelair twin for years. Loved it. Fuel went from $1.80 to $5.50 for 100 LL.
That was it. 18 gph took the fun out of if. Building an Avid flyer now in the garage.
Are you making that one you got fyable? Your a private pilot arent ya?
Your skills are incredible on RC.
Awesome flight and duration. I can't wait for mine to show up.
It's gonna be EPIC! She would have gone longer too...I bet she'd do another 2 minutes, 5 if I was actually being nice to her ;)
This is one of my favorite planes. I find the nose gear to be weak and hard to keep in straight alignment if you bump the nose on landing. I don't care for the foam slot for the battery - I have an assortment of batteries I can use with this plane and many will not fit in the slot - removing some foam from the slot and also from the inside of the hatch may be necessary if you want to use various size batteries.
My plane turned out to be tail heavy - I don't know if that is true for most.
I used a hatch from my old Parkzone version that I had put a Snoopy pilot in.
I tried half a dozer various yellow paints and never found one that matched exactly to the yellow used on the airplane - so my hatch yellow is slightly different than my plane yellow.
I hear all the time that people take the plane or a wing or canopy into Home Depot or Lowes and have paint matched?!??!?! Maybe you could do this???
As for the battery holder - yeah, I was thinking the same thing, BUT I didn't have any issue with the CG at all - wonder what's going on with yours????
@@BrianPhillipsRC a paint match at a hardware store was the first thing I tried - not even close, then I tried local hobby store and then Hobby Lobby - got close but not exact.
With a sick perversion I am almost looking forward to the day that yourself and camera crew have to trudge away out into that field across the road to retrieve a plane that’s run out of juice. Great as always guys.
I've done it already ;)
Love this channel. Just bought the T-28 Trojan 1.1 M through the links provided. Thanks Brian!!
Awesome Duone! Thank you for helping support us!!!
We really appreciate you, and hope to keep you coming back for more!
Hi Brian, I’m still enjoying your videos, but not so much the hobby currently!! My F-15 is waiting for me to almost identically repair it like yours. My amateur error.
But I’m commenting here to give you and others warning about the motor and wires on this T28. After 8 flights I noticed problems with a wobbling and binding prop. Motor mount screws all very loose, but worse was the wiring that’s all cut through by the motor itself. Please check yours!!
Invested a good amount of money into this hobby in only a few months, and now considering playing golf instead.
Best wishes, Rich from the UK.
Golf is also very expensive, so seems a wash to me - LOL ;) Hang in there!!! You'll start to have an eye for those little areas of vulnerability. I think I might have mentioned it in the Unbox, Build, Radio Setup, and Maiden Flights...
Just got mine, didn't snug the prop enough, after setting the front gear (that stupid screw had to yank the cowl) Lost prop after climbing but it made it to the ground with no issue.
Excellent! I've had similar situations happen to me in the past (not with this plane) and landing dead stick - Wakes you up in the morning :)
Ok Brian, I just ordered off your links!!!
Awesome thank you Ken!
Anther awesome video Brian. I Love it, especially when you ask your wife " What do you think ?" and she replied " No". Great job ! I just love it...
SORRY keyboard ... Another .... lol
Thanks Johnny!
Definitely gonna pick this one up after more stick time with my carbon cub s2. Awesome flying
Thanks! Great choice!
Great work Brian. Waiting now for your Eflite T28 2.0 meter Carbon Z unbox and review!
You and me both! I really want to do it, but not sure it's gonna happen ;(
I have done my initial training with my trusty Aeroscout, and I've just paid for one of these to supplement the low wing 40 size ARF I'm putting together. Seems like I've made a good choice!
This plane is an EXCELLENT choice! Good work Rob!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC thank you! I must admit the ARF is taking a fairly long time to put together - enough that I'm less inclined to risk it trying aerobatics etc for the first time. I figure the T-28 can do that duty as a simple BNF, can also be an intro to warbirds and generally a great little plane to fly.
True!
Great job on this... greatly appreciate your input...
Bought this and the Crescendo because of you sir..
Awesome!!! Great choices, and glad to hear! Thanks for being part of our community here on RUclips!
Thank you Mr Brian and camera crew for the second vid Your the best From Ohio
Thanks David!
Hey Brian. I just preordered my plane using your link. Just have to wait now.
Thanks c G!
I am seriously impressed with the NX6! HAD the DX6e, & needed/wanted more. Previously, I used a futaba 8UaH, 20 years ago. I loved it & compared everything to it. Until a couple of weeks ago. NOW, everything, in my book, IS compared to the NX6! HELLUVA transmitter! 👍
Couldn't agree more! It's an AWESOME Tx! The only issue I can see from a user perspective, is that HH might have made it (the NX6) TOO GOOD!!! I bet a lot of guys aren't going to spring for the NX8 or the NX10.
When I got mine, I was bracing for disappointment, but have been VERY pleasantly surprised with how nice it really is!
@@BrianPhillipsRC
I pre-ordered the nx10. After 2 months, I bought the nx6. Got tired of waiting. (A buddy of mine bought the nx6 when they became available. He said I'd love it. NO disappointment there! 👍).
Love the voice prompts too! NO more looking!
Just bought one! Used your setup. All set! But now it’s dark...lol. Maiden in 2 days
I hate when that happens ;) You'll LOVE IT!!! Good luck Jeffromoto!
Totally not related but do a second thoughts on the SU-30! I’m thinking about that as a next plane!
I'm sorry to report that the SU30 is no longer with us... :(.... I tried to get it off it's addiction to gravity, but it succomb to it's habit and will no longer go airborne ;(
@@BrianPhillipsRC NOOOOOO! What happen????
When on the ground turning off safe lets you turn tighter with more throw on the nose wheel
I wasn't in SAFE on the ground, or at all, except for like 20 second, if I recall...
@@BrianPhillipsRC Ok perfect I know it makes a difference how tight you can turn.
Your low passes are most amazing to me! Some day when I grow up I hope to try some of that.....I'm 72 now.....
This plane really helps make it happen! You can do it Thomas!
Love watching your videos and hats off to your camera crew she does a awesome job for real brian!!😎🙏😁
Thanks Todd, she's sitting here with me, and I passed along your compliments. She is GREAT!!!!
Ok I need to get one! I’m planning to get the NX8, thought about the NX10, but for the price I don’t think I need the 2 extra channels. I’ve updated my S1500 Smart charger after watching you video, thanks for that. WHERE IS MY DRACO???????? LOL
@@Mikeylikesit1968 thanks for the info. I'll look into it. But I really like my spektrums.
I plan to get the NX10 when it's released, if possible...but not sure when that's gonna be ;( Sorry!
@@BrianPhillipsRC yea it sucks to stop using your DX18, but me I want the updated technology. I love my DX8 gen2, got to have the NXs. That’s what HH wants! LOL
Can you remember did you have to put a lot of down trim on the elevator, did maiden on mine and it was kinda scary, went up like a home sick angel, though elevator was at a neutral level
If you did, then just mechanically adjust it out after you land. I don't recall doing it though, but it's been a while, to be totally honest.
I think this should be my second plane. Flew it on RF ...wow it is on rails.
You would love it!
Damn it Brian your making mis my old Parkzone T-28 which i could practically land right at my feet every time.
Yep, gonna have to fly this one now ;)
Ohooo all that snow... where are the skis!!! if you took off the front gear and add skis to the rear, just let it be a tail dragger. Oh, I bet that would be cool.
This thing is so fun to fly with the walls on either side!!!
There is a real nice model the landing perfect good job Brian
It sure is! Thanks!
This plane is my favorite plane I own.
Brian - Finally got the confidence to fly this T-28 that I purchase too long ago (been flying the 1.2m Apprentice, UMX Turbo Timber and the 400mm warbirds). Man is it fun and I think a bit easier to fly that the Apprentice (so far). Question, would setting up flaperons help shorten the landing rollout for this one? My son and I fly at a local soccer park and when the parking lot is empty we use it for landing rather than the grass and it is a challenge to get it on the ground and stopped before running out of room. Thanks!
Okay, GREAT quesiton, and you CAN do it... I did it, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's SOOOOO easy to just add flaps, and you'll have WAY better flying experience, if you're going to mod the plane.
I would, however, HIGHLY recommend you try SLIPPING first. You use almost full ailerons and CONTRARY rudder (the other direction) and you will be pointing one or the other wings practically down the runway at final, and when you're confident you're ready for a greasy, buttery landing, just pop out of the slip, and you'll be ready to touch down. Usually, you'll slip INTO ground effect, or JUST above it.
PLEASE don't think about flapperons till you try this for about 2-3 flights. I gotta say, they are fun to have, but they suck compared to flaps, and flaps are a BREEZE to install! I'd suggest you just get a 1.2m T-28 if you really want to go all out ;)
Very nice Brian. I got too many versions of this plane already and now you tempt me again....shame,shame. HAHA. Kidding aside, Yee who are in RC and don’t have one should get one. Love all mine. Including the big Carbon Z version from Eflite. 🔥🔥👍👍😉
Ohhh-Yeahhh-h-h-h-h-h!
@@grumpyjohntxredneckrc6346 😁
You can never have too many T-28's ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Hey. I hear recent news reports that some the new ones coming in with wiring from the motor chafing and missing some heat shrink wrap. Brian - by chance you heard about this and maybe follow up and inspect your model? I hope it’s an isolated issue. Not so sure. :/
Brian -- I really enjoy your reviews and always look forward to the next. I don't know how both of you keep up the pace, but I'm pleased that you can. I'm considering my first warbird and you seem to like both the E-flite T28 1.1m and the P51D 1.2m planes. Given a choice between the two (not both!!), which would you prefer? -- Thanks again, you put out videos with great content.
Thanks Bob - they're both great, but the P-51 is harder to fly, and more complex with flaps and retracts.
Here's a better "Side by Side" comparison...

VS
T28 1.2m bit.ly/32oGSnc
OR
T28 1.1m bit.ly/38n1dvD
...I LOVE the T28, but I'd say it comes back to budget on this question, since the T28 is a bit more economical.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thank you again Brian. I really appreciate your help and trust your advice. Re-visiting your reviews I can tell you had a great time with the T28 1.1m
Mr. Phillips, This is Horizon Hobby. Please DO NOT even consider submitting any of your SMART Pack batteries for any type of warranty claims. Thank you!
LOL - Horizon Hobby sent it to me, so not too worried about this ;)
Mikey - this stuff is AWESOME ;)
One thing I learned after watching Brian Philips for a while: he hates his lipos
LOL - I'm mean to mine so you can be nice to yours - LOL!
I had to add 1.5 ozs in the front of my without using all my trim. I also think the battery system is a little sad for this plane. It makes it very difficult to put batteries in.
Why did you add weight? I flew it bone stock, and zero issues??? Did you're have an issue???
@@BrianPhillipsRC yes. I couldn’t keep it from climbing without using all my trim. CG was just nose heavy before I added weights.
Hey just picked one of these up love it, but I find that if I’m in either safe select or as3x and go above 30 to 50% throttle it just climbs and I have to fight with down elevator. I trimmed elevator all the way down and still does this. I want to say it’s the dihedral wings and it’s just how it flies but wanted to ask your opinion given you know more than me!
Great flying - love the low passes and it seems to allow some pretty slow flight without tip stalling. Question for you: I'm super comfortable flying my UMX Turbo Timber - how would this be as a next plane, do you think?
You should be just fine. This would make a great NEXT plane!

Does the NX 6 satisfy most requirements for most BNF planes from Horizon? Been looking at a used DX8 or for almost same money a used NX6. Is six channels enough? for a plane that also has flaps and gear
Hi Brian, great work as usual on the maiden, unbox and this 2nd thoughts video. I just maidened mine today using a 4S 2200mah and it flies exactly how I saw it here. Pretty happy - except I noticed a strong vibration (and noise) at full throttle (between 85 to 100%). I thought the prop needed balancing so I tried that technique of yours with tape but that didn't do any good. I checked the engine mounting and all but it's pretty firm and solid so not sure what's causing it. Did you notice the same on your model? Thanks and looking forward to the next new maiden/2nd thoughts video. :)
I didn't, but if you have a vibration, did you check the see if the prop is bent out of square??? This too can cause the issue. Secondly, the "tape method" is really just guess and check, so gotta kinda keep going till it works...
@@BrianPhillipsRC Checked and found the prop is dead straight. Maybe the vibration is normal? I listened in to yours and other folks' videos and it does sound similar on the full throttle pass and so far it's flying great after with my 3rd and 4th flights. Thanks again Brian!
Still waiting patiently (not) for mine to get here. And after all your accolades I'm getting less patient. Come-on HH get me my plane delivered. Grrrrr.
Sorry Jack! You'll love it when you finally see and fly her!!!
Hey Brian, after my pre-order was delivered last week, I took the T-28 for maiden. Man, this plane is so much fun to fly. Really happy with it. I even managed to fit 3200mAh 4S Smart-packs but had to cut some foam and secure them with some Velcro.
I'm struggling with setting up the voltage alarm in my DX6G3. I updated it to be fully operational with Smart Telemetry but cant find the right setting to make it work.
How did you set up your voltage alarm in your transmitter?
Cheers
If you want to use it, go to Function List (click the scroll bar down) then look for Telemetry, and Audio Events, and you can setup WARNINGS...one of which is per cell or nominal voltage. Try it out, I might be saying it slightly wrong, but it's there.
Great low speed and Fast fast.
Sure is! This plane is a KEEPER!
Why don't you add a removable ping pong net to the house end of your runway drive? couple of stakes and bungie cords and you have a carrier catch net.
Cheap Badmiton Net Would Be Even Better! LOL
Not a bad Idea! I could sink some "sockets" into the ground to receive the poles, then cap them off in the winter.
Trying to decide on this plane or P-39 Airacobra 1.2m BNF
I have flown 2 other planes elite valiant and turbo timber trying to decide on my 3rd plane
P-39 is cool, too, but the T28 is pretty sweet! If you can hold out for a few weeks or a month, you might be able to get the new T-28 with new Rx and upgraded electronics....flaps and retracts - one of my favorites...BUT for the moment, this T-28 1.1m is AMAZING!
The P-39 is very good too, but it's not as good flying - keep in mind the T-28 flies angelically good, so if the P-39 "doesn't fly as good", this still means it's GOOD!!! ;)
P39 1.2m bit.ly/3loUdmP
T28 1.1m / 1.2m bit.ly/3eOh9Lk
Both??? ;)
Hey BrianPhilips, I like your video's! I just bought this Trojan T28. I have level flight on 50% throttle, but it goes up (climb) when I go 100% throttle. Does it just need more down elevator trim or is it a other problem? (Beginner Pilot) Thanks for reply in advance!
This can be a function of SAFE. Are you flying in SAFE? (Safe is auto-leveling, when you let go of the sticks)
If so, when you come out of SAFE, and fly with just AS3X (Stabilizaiton - NOT Auto-Leveling) doe the plane do the same? If not, then it's a function of SAFE, and you'll have that with full throttle.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks for the reply, I do not have SAFE because I don't fly with spectrum receiver and transmitter. So I don't think that is the case.
Thanks again for the informative videos.
For a second plane (after UMX Cub S2 )what should I get?
Air Tractor
T-28 yellow
Turbo Timber
AeroScout.
I will be reviewing the AeroScout 1.1m very soon, like within a week or so, if all goes to plan, so if you want to see what we have to say about it, please do... This would be the best NEXT plane..
How about this...

@@BrianPhillipsRC hey Brian, where does the v900 go in this line up?
I'm hesitating between this one and the E-flite T-28 Trojan from E-flite, the retractable landing gear scaring me a little because of their fragility. I'm currently flying the tecnam 2010 and the conscendo...???i hesitate with this plane and the T 28 Trojan from hobby zone , can you help me ? the pice in ma boutique in france is the same...???!!
I crashed my new conscendo today coming in to land and hit a stinking pole but was a easy fix took five minutes
I hate when that happens! I've broke my tail off and nose off...don't feel bad - both repairs combined probably took about 15 minutes. You'd never know any better ;)
How can you check voltage without a balance lead
You can check it with an XBC100 battery checker ( bit.ly/3hgnHQT ), or through telemetry on the planes equipped with SMART Receivers. Very nice touch, but also you can just check nominal voltage too on many planes.
How would this plane handle a grass runway that's not always kept cut short ?
You could just hand launch and then land it in tall grass, but she'll probably flip over....no issue.
You fly so close to your house and those trees. Ever hit either of them???
Sure, but never any damage to anything but the planes and my ego ;)
you're going to make me buy another plane, lol
I'm SOOOO sorry ;) DO IT!!! This thing is awesome!
You should review the Fms PC-21. Its been out for a couple of years now, it would be nice to have your professional opinion on it.
I'd really like to review it. If I can get them to send it, I'll review it.
Have you checked the wires on your motor recently? I just had a motor failure on my 2nd flight, wires got tangled in the motor. After researching a little, this looks to be a very common problem. You might want to add a zip tie to the wires to keep them away from the back of the motor. Thought you could help spread the word. Thanks!
I think I pointed this out in the video
I was referring to the 3 wires coming off the motor being damaged by the backside of the spinning motor. Might be worth removing the cowl and doing a quick visual inspection.
Hey Brian just a headsup on your favorite glue Musalge. The glue Seal All is the same at parts stores.
Really? Haven't tried it. Are you sure it's FOAM SAFE?
@@BrianPhillipsRC Yes sir.
flying airplanes but in my case, I will somebody use it as a buddy box with an RCmy stepdaughters want to work on learning how to drive utilizing RC car but if the car goes too far I want to be able to take over and bring it back.
That would be cool! Especially if they're going like 40-50mph in the wrong direction!!!
Nice video. Any idea what the biggest 3s and 4s you could fit in this plane?
I think a 15 minute+ Flight is GREAT, but if you want more, you could cut the foam and stuff a 4000mAh pack in there, but I'd prefer the plane be light on it's feet.
I received my eflite t-28 airplane yesterday and upon opening, I noticed that there's big dents in the landing gear foam tires. After assembling, I tried taxing the plane in my living room and the plane moved uneven and wobbly. Aside from contacting HH support for replacement wheels, is there anything I can do to correct the shape of the foam tires. Will soaking them in scalding hot water help?
HEAT. You can try to use HOT, VERY HOT water, or pressure to equalize these bumps. I know what you're talking about, but it's unusual to have it NIB. Sorry you had to deal with this!
it's the same price between this one and the e-flite at 10€ each, which one do you recommend at 10€ each....?
I got this plane w nx6 transmitter but can’t turn safe mode off any ideas how to turn off I’m sure simple but having problems thx Brian
Yes, you can follow the steps in the video - go to the end of the "Unbox, Build, Radio Setup, and Maiden Flights" video to see what we do ;) It's super easy, but can be a bit tricky if you haven't done it before.
Here's the video - ruclips.net/video/AJRsY3zOMpE/видео.html
Thx Brian I appreciate it and thx for doing what u do it’s been a big help for me getting into and continuing this hobby love flying this Trojan plane
You're welcome!
My older smart batteries dicharge a little with out being set for it?
All batteries do. This is typical and totally unavoidable.

Totally! Good luck on the build Chris ;)
Doesn't listen to the girl in the transmitter either lol😂
you got it
A friend of mine in our club said you did a video on flaperons with the TrojanT-28 1.1. I can't seem to find it. Assuming he's correct and I'm just not good at finding things could you please post a link? Really do get info here you can't get anywhere else. Thank you guys!
Could you review the extra 300 and do you know if it has a reversing esc in it?
I would entertain doing reviews on the Extra 300, but not sure when.
I would also enjoy seeing the 64 mm 15from eflite
Darn it, now i want one!
You're welcome ;)
I'm so drawn to this plane I just can't get away with its fixed wheels on skinny wire look. Shame it wouldn't work as a toss and boss style. How do you feel about the planes 30A ESC but being capable for for 4S? I've got the 1.2m eflite warbirds with the 40A ESC and there's mixed reviews on whether they should be 4S or 3S. I thought 30A would've been max a 3S lipo. Cheers.
I hate the look of fixed gear too...BUT they seem to hold up well, and so many people want the plane to be simple. Every T-28 with Tri-Cycle retracts have had issues with the nose gear being weak, but I've LOVED the retracts on my 1.2m T-28 for years...and fixed them many times too - very sketch at the moment, but LOVE the look of a smooth bottom, low wing plane. The profile passing by is just amazing!
@@BrianPhillipsRC 100% as a trojan is flying by that comical look with retracts totally disappears when it's flying by with a smooth belly! I'm hoping the tricycle retracts hold out on my P39. Looks a little naff on my display but when I seen her flying in your vid 👍🏾
It didn't want to stop when you landed it, kinda needs brakes when you land, newbie question, do any rc planes have brakes?
Yes, but it's very rare, and what planes use for BREAKS are usually flaps, which are the inboard (toward the fuselage) control surface that BOTH go down. They're used to lower the stall speed, allow for a steeper AOA (Angle of attack) (better visibility for a REAL pilot), and so you can fly DOWN to the runway for landing at a SLOWER speed without ripping the landing gear off. There's also added DRAG from the flaps being deployed.
Of course, on "full scale" AKA REAL planes, they have breaks, since they taxi, and the breaks do help slow down the plane. Only on the most sophisticated, usually larger planes, do people put electric or air actuated breaks. Some will use Air Breaks, which are NOT flaps, but usually used with flaps, and deployed in a few different ways. Scale RC officiants love Air Breaks. Very cool, and functional detail.
Thanks for the great reply Brian, that's really interesting! Thanks for taking the time to provide that information.
I learned to fly last summer, on all high wing 3S type trainers...I recently flew my new T-28 ( my 1st low wing ) for the first time and all the guys at the field kept telling me to keep the speed up or it will stall....I didn't notice any bad tendencies when flying it, other than on my maiden flight , as it kept pitching up so I had to land it and mechanically give my elevator a lot of down setting....I used a 3S and I did not use SAFE at all........... QUESTION: what do you think about its stall tendencies.......worse...same as most low wings ...better than most.......any tips you can offer?.... ....thanks
Maybe you need to get your trims right, but this plane doesn't stall especially easily. Are you banking sharp? Keep your nose pointed down (trick - coordinate by pointing BOTH Thumbs the SAME way), then you'll keep her flying, even if you lose some vertical lift in a turn.
It's a "Feel" thing - takes some time to feel it out on a new plane...but I can't say any of my T-28's have been especially bad about stalling.
When I think about planes that will BITE - I think of the 70mm Viper Jet...that thing will loop smooth, and clean, and FLIP right out from under a base leg turn and leave you wondering what the heck happened! But the T-28 is like on the other side of the universe from that plane ;)
Hey guys here's an open invitation to participate in a virtual Fun Fly in Real Flight Multiplayer 1/24/22 field "Montana Madness" every Tuesday night 9pm-10:15pm. It's a lot of fun with RC pilots from all over the world. Spread the word.
Thanks for the invitation!
Have you had problems with your nx6 not wanting to charge? Mine wouldn’t charge the other day and I had to unplug the battery and plug it back in. That’s worked so far but we’ll see if it happens again
Never, but I'm running the BIGGER pack.
Bigger Tx Pack - 6000mAh 3.7V - bit.ly/3bZ0nHW
Stock Tx Pack - 2000mAh 3.7V - bit.ly/35ZcHnM
Super de bon pilot ! :-)
Thanks ;)
Am I suppose to charge NX6 after done flying? Verses waiting a week or so till I fly again? Seems like my battery went down to low sitting a week to 2.9. Now won’t charge at all. I ordered the 6000mah one.
You can CHEAT to get it to work. Just set the battery type to another type, and make yourself up a simple little pigtail and you can get her back into range. It's a pain, but I guess you'll know for next time. Sorry you ran into that issue.
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Are you going to do a review on the carbon z T-28 2.0m
I want too, but HH isn't really offering it at this point ;(...
