Jirí Kylián is a master of the body. He creates poetry with movement. His creations are daring, fierce, rapturous, fiery, sublime, ethereal, sensual, and magnificent. They are masterpieces. There is no living choreographer in the world imbued with such an astonishing talent. I have always been mesmerized by his creations.
beautiful interview thank you, I haven't seen, I believe he is not only a fantastic choreographer and dance poet but a renaissance man in the world of theater.
A moving interview - full of insights and emotional depth - with one of the greatest European masters of choreography... I appreciate Kylián’s understanding of dance history in context of other arts; informed by the universal truths of life, death, love, and theatre. The question of preservation/recording of dance points to the power of poésies in which intimate memory shapes the movement of feeling bodies in space and time.
Oh my god, this video should be called "life, love and beards". What did the interviewer take! who possibly came up with these questions!? It's hilarious and embarrassing. The golden shoe of journalism to that guy.
Pina Bausch is a woman choreograper. In no way could she have a beard. You did not get the joke. It would have been nicer if you could have prepared for the interview better. Kylián's work is amazing and well deserves it.
Talking about Death: The interviewer bores me to death. It’s beautiful to see the kindness and patience of Jiri to build on questions that only deserved yes/no. Maybe the idea was to juxtapose the experience and naivety… ??!! Why do wear a beard and dancers don’t ? OMG
"I'm not particularly a storyteller... I prefer to write my own poetry." Jiří Kylián So true. 🌹

I am afraid that it wasn’t a joke and that they just both "forgot"!!! that their exists also female choreographers…

I could listen to Jiri Kylian all day. But the interviewer aggravates me. You can tell he knows nothing about dance or choreography!
