He didn’t prepare it there, he did it in his house and just said he was going to record something so Gus thought the audio was going to be short when in reality it was long af. Knowing Shayne he would need a lot of takes to get the audio complete without laughing at least once.
In some skits they carry on even if they laugh just because they want to get the whole joke. Knowing Shane I bet even in the parallel universe where Gus laughs, they'd still let him play that whole bit

So another layer I find funny is that shayne probably went out into the hallways for like 20 seconds to "record", and every time there's a new twist in the recording, gus realizes that it was ALL done before he ever even came to the studio.
