I visited rijks museum recently and was amazed by looking at the night watch. It was such a dramatic and important moment for me as an artist. I have studied his works before and has been inspired by his character but when I saw him in real in his work, I was overwhelmed with his craftsmanship and imagination. In that feeling of inspiration I wished that someday I will have a place next to Rembrandt . I sketched rijks museum after that, sitting on the footpath. I was so happy when a small girl came and commented on my work that I should be inside the museum not outside !!! I have a long way to go and will be giving some great works to this world very soon :)
Its literal renessaince work multiple painters trying to paint a painting then reversed into singular artists with expressionism which brings us to van gogh and the guys. That can't even compare to whatever they were doing at the church and some paintings some guys/people did themselves, before this even happened. Considered natural, humanist art. They'll show you the mona Lisa, they say its the best? And the sistine chapel doesn't even compare.
Alux I like paintings of people before photography like the paintings of Marie Antoinette or her mother Marie Therese I just love how realistic it looks and with that gold frame ❤️❤️
Actually, the pendant paintings purchased for the Rijksmuseum, and not by the museum. Are worth 160 million euros together. But the male portrait was purchased by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the female portrait by the French Republic. Both countries paid 80 million euros each. Both countries made into law, that these paintings will never be separated, and will travel between the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and the Louvre in Paris for eternity.
I've seen original 17th century photos of Rembrandt's beachfront mansion in Honolulu, which he bought for a mere 8,000 guilders in 1647. That property recently sold for 4.5 million guilders! Then there's his ski cabin in the Poconos. It included a private ski lift that led to within just 100 voets of his back door, and a Jacuzzi.
Exactly, I was about to comment when I read yours. They should get someone who knows art before putting up a video like this. Or, at least let the commentator know the pronunciation.
Every artist and sculptors had a great self portrait and self sculpture.is always famous and remarkable ☢️🛑 sign in their time. I like Art and artist information ℹ️ always because of art is my passion and want to know about their art activities.
Hold on sweets….. at 3:20, it not Titan (with a long 'I')… it is pronounced TI-shan (rhymes with 'man'); better get it right if you're aiming to make that first million.... otherwise, great video!
Actually the correct name is "Tiziano" and is pronounced "Tits-yah-noh". I'm greatly irked when non English names are distorted to look and sound like as if they were English. There was no Italian painter called "Titian".

More like "15 things anyone minimally literate knows about Rembrandt, with an intro about how to be a snob".
She sounds so pretentious
I agree; I thought perhaps they had found more about his friendship with Spinoza or his academic record as a Bible scholar.

Self portrait at the easel is my favourite
Showing a Swiss house as being the house of Rembrandt ?!......

It isn’t Titan. It is Titian. Pronounced Tish- in.
I love the classical music in the background
Soo... who noticed the Vermeer at the end?
Titian is the only child that reaches adulthood, but he died before Rembrandt so I think that means he survived ALL his children.
No, Titian was the fourth child he outlived. His fifth child, Cornelia, outlived him. Cornelia was the daughter he had with his housekeeper.
A lot of his paintings are made by his pupils. 🤗
He will allways be revered artist
U know its a blaggers guide when she namea Titian as Titan
