      Well I for example unliked it because it's pretty superficial, but ok...I guess it can suffice at the beginning. And then there's this adding of a new value - the stair color in the color scheme...well it doesn't appear on the Level 1 - Representation at all, nor in the Legend...no one even noticed...He could've explained why that happened and that we have to create a room area where the stairs are and actually name the area Stair, for the Color of the scheme to appear there and in the Legend as well. As I said - a superficial approach to teaching.

    Can you customize the fill area so that it overlaps and shows color over the wall fill? I want to show the Gross Floor Area of a floor plan and prove to the municipality that we are including the area to the outermost edge of the exterior wall. I would also like to know how you make your cursor have the yellow halo around it, as well how you insert the 'clicking' sound. Sometimes I want to make tutorial videos to share tips and tricks, too.

    • @SmarterArchitect
      @SmarterArchitect  7 лет назад +1

      To accomplish the graphic you are looking for here, I recommend using an area plan in revit and set the boundary to the exterior of the space. Then set the visual style to wireframe and the color fill will show through the walls in plan view. Secondly, I use Camtasia Studio on a PC to both screen capture for my video tutorials and edit the recording. The yellow halo and clicking sound are both features of the mouse setting when I use to keep the focus. Well, great questions. Thanks for watching!

    Hi ! Thanks for the video . i didn't understood what have you done for the names of the rooms appears like this on your new color scheme as un option to paint?
    in my case, when a will start a new "color scheme", i go to "by name" but the names of my rooms don't appear like this... i would need to reecrite then and if i doi it, they rest not linked with the model, so the color doesn't appears...

    when I scale the plan the color scheme stays the same size, so it gets too big or too small for the drawings how can I adjust that, thanks for help

    • @SmarterArchitect
      @SmarterArchitect  8 лет назад

      +Ahmed Elshorbagy The proper way to change the scale of a view is using the views properties menu which should not cause the problem that you are describing. I hope this helps. Please consider signing up for the coming video course to help you maximize the benefit of Revit for you. Thanks for watching

  • @allprominence
    @allprominence 8 лет назад

    How's it going. Great video. I was wondering if there was a way to do a color scheme (much like room color scheme) for elevations. I have a client that wants three different color schemes for their elevations. There are many ways I can change the color of the walls, but I wanted to see if there was an easier way rather then changing the property of the wall. What I did thus far, that I think is the easiest, is applying a filled region over the wall with is proper color. I don't want to change the property of the wall and overriding the graphics will take to long. any thoughts? thanks in advance!

    • @SmarterArchitect
      @SmarterArchitect  8 лет назад

      I'm doing great. Thanks for watching it! If you want to work entirely in Revit then it is best to use design options and create multiple exterior wall copied options and change the wall material. However thanks for the idea- because I will be doing another video on the method I prefer to use right now!

    • @allprominence
      @allprominence 8 лет назад

      hmmm... thanks for the quick responds! I guess for now, I used filled regions, then duplicated multiple exterior elevations views of that same view and pasted in same location the filled region and made each region a different color. it would be great if Revit allowed us to do something similar to room schemes, with exterior elevations!

    I have tried your tutorial using Revit 2013 which was very helpful. The problem I have encountered is that the color scheme works correctly as indicated in your tutorial, however when I go to print the sheet, the color scheme is set to foreground covering all the walls and furniture. I have searched AutoDesk forums for a solution, but no solution that has worked. Has anyone encountered this problem and have a solution?

    • @SmarterArchitect
      @SmarterArchitect  8 лет назад

      +Shanita Rutland Thanks for watching. Of course there's a solution. Click on the properties menu for the colored floor plan view you are working in. There is a color scheme location property that needs to be clicked on and toggled from foreground to background which is the other option. It's what you are looking for and I'm throwing you this tip free of charge because I know you're a subscriber. LOL Thanks for watching
