one of my first snakes wasn't handled for several years. I got him for free because i guess he bit the lady several times (not tagging but biting). He's a male black albino corn snake, he is nearly five feet long and has NEVER bit me ever. He is the sweetest snake. when i put my hand in his enclosure he climbs right up my arm and chills on my shoulders.
That’s what my mum thought she said I could never ever getting a snake now I have a corn snake and ball python 😂 just show you’ve done research and show him the cute ball python videos in RUclips 😂
Crested Geckos are amazing! Look at that incredible lil baby!! I do not understand why people think they’re boring. I can’t think of a single reason how a bond with a lovely creature could be boring. I thoroughly loved watching little miss Yoshi scuttle around and jump on the camera, and slowly slllide down 😊.
I have two ball pythons and they’re good examples of each end of the attitude spectrum. One, if he’s being bothered or annoyed or scared will just duck his head away and leave you alone. The other will bite as a first defence for literally anything that she deems even remotely annoying.
I love it when you have a leo on your shoulder during your videos, I swear I'm always watching them more than I'm actually watching you 😅 I love your videos so much, I can't believe I didn't find this channel sooner 💙
Tis true tis true and I love African Egg Eating snakes! My reptiles have never bite me on purpose my veiled chameleon did one time because he missed the mealworm and if you're wondering why he'll take the mealworms from my hand he's so nice and whenever he did that he was so sorry about it then he ate the mealworm and same on me and started cuddling me. My crested gecko did because they missed the food as well (I have to hand feed them most of the time) and they were so sorry about it! My reptiles are the most friendly pets that I have! They're so sweet!
I remember we were at a zoo or something once and my friend (who was afraid of snakes at the time) held one of those. It was pretty cool, since she got to have an experience with the creature without fear of biting. As with all phobias, she still had some irrational jitters, but it was great for her nonetheless.
*Top 5 Reptiles that won't bite* Me, clicking on this video to say my gecko bit me once: hehehe This video: Sometimes they might if they think youre food Me: Aw
I had an amazing Iguana, Beethoven. He would sleep side by side with our cat. He was paper trained, so we could let him out for long periods of time. He loved to crawl up on my husband's shoulder, wrapped his tail around Bob's neck, and tucked his head behind Bob's ear. He was very well socialized.
I’ve seen some naaasty leo bites in some leo FB groups, but it seems to almost be some kind of breeding response in adult males. I recently acquired a group of subadults that have obviously never been handled and are extremely skittish. I’ve been nipped a couple times so far but only hard enough to bleed for a minute; no big deal. I was a bit surprised African egg-eating snakes weren’t on the list, since they’re actually incapable of biting (with teeth, at least...they may gum you lol). But then again, as I’ve mentioned before, they really shouldn’t be encouraged as pets to anyone who hasn’t done a ton of research and isn’t extremely prepared for their needs.
Yeah you're right, egg eaters should top this list but I see too many people going out to get one, can't find eggs and boom, dead snake. But yes, they are the best for this list.
I never seen one mentioned in this video but for anyone wondering about other "tame reptiles", consider the Chinese Water Dragon! Super underrated pet, and certainly require a bit more work than most of these but I PROMISE YOU these guys are about as friendly as they come and they're such fun and spunky pets to have around. Would totally recommend them!!
I owned a beardy a while back, and he was great. The only time my beardie has EVER bit me is when I finished having a candy that dyed my fingers green. Making them look like horn worms and I was dumb enough to handle beardie. The other time is because I happened to have a too small piece of food and I didn't let go of the food in time.
Honestly my cat bites me almost daily and it doesn’t bother me I just keep bothering him and he keeps biting. It’s the psychological “oh that’s a snake please don’t bite me” that really gets me. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt but damn when snakes strike at me my ape brain says to run away very fast.
I've literally been bitten by 3 out of the 5 on your list. (Leopard gecko, bearded dragon and ball python) Lol. But you're right, all three times were food-related. All 3 bites drew blood, but they were all totally my fault. Only my feelings were hurt. 🤣🤣🤣
Side note on hoggies, the venom is in fact so similar to bee stings that certain people who have gotten the (extremely rare) bite have actually been to the ER for anaphylaxis. Not saying they are bad snakes, they're wonderful and I love them, but definitely something to be aware of!
Thanks for the video! You should do a top 5 or 10 softest reptiles. It would be very unique. I think BPs are one of the best commonly kept reptiles. They chill with you until your ready to put them back. Only downside as most people know is their hunger strikes. Ppl just need to know about it and expect it. Anyway, I dont think cresties are boring to me their actually a really interesting little lizard and they are definitely super soft. Have a great day!
My leopard gecko is a 1.5 yr old female a friend gave her to me. When I brought her home I took her out of the container to put her in the tank and she bit me hard as actually shook her head like aggressively then tried to run away. She wouldn't let me touch her for more than a month. So I utilized the Kevin Mccurley method of creating threads of positivity, little interactions throughout the day it worked. Within a weekshe has become a super sweet calm little girl. I think she was actually angry to be moved with a new human and wouldn't trust me. My friend's daughter had a great relationship with her. Seems she got mad and I had to develop trust with her first. The bite didnt hurt at all but was surprising. It also didnt break skin even though she really tried hard to.

Yoshi is so cute! I've never seen a crested gecko before, but now I'm in love. ❤️ They remind me of those squishy toys that you throw at walls or windows and they flop slowly down. 🤣
I have been bitten by a crested gecko and it was so weird because I had NEVER heard of them biting. I was at the pet store I work at holding it to show my mom and usually this one is a sweetheart and it was being very tolerant and I let her hold it but then it was getting too squirmy for her so she handed it back to me and then it just like chomped me really quickly then jumped off my hand onto to the floor. It didn't hurt but it scared me because I wasn't expecting it and because i wasn't my brain caused me to say "ow" because that's just your initial response and I looked down at it and picked it up and put it back in its enclosure and was like "What the heck?! Thank you for this video! Not a fan of defensive reptiles. My favorites been the bearded dragon. Its a great starter when you’re getting into reptiles but you definitely need to be well versed in their care! Store Starter kits make me cringe 😖
No! I wanted the same thing! Mine have never bit me but my nieces did when I was babysitting. I actually even squeezed my hand to make it look worse for my pics 🤣 Bucket list checked!
My female leo has the notice "I bite" on her cage because she is the sassiest girl who thinks she is starving and will attack anything that moves. It has become a game when I give her dinner.
As a previous crested gecko breeder: they sure as hell can bite. I've had plenty examples of creaties which just didn't like to be picked up, and they start to bite. Also males when there are females nearby are quite bity bity. That begin said, if you keep just one or two and don't do anything wierd your not likely to get bitten. But I also own cornsnakes, and those never bitten or even striked at me.
I was handling my crested gecko yesterday and she deciding to take a bite at me 😅. It didn't hurt at all but it was a little bit suprising that she would do that. To put the cherry on top when I woke up this morning I saw that her enclosure door was open and then I checked the tank and realized she had gotten out. I searched my whole house and then when I took a lil break to use the restroom I saw her hiding behind the curtin in my bathroom. This is one crested gecko 😅😅
I swear my male crestie just wants to kill me, I feel like I got a tokay with a crested gecko body, if I open the doors, he either runs out or lunges at my hands and bite me, it doesnt really hurt but he has drawn blood a few times before, feeding him can be complicated lolll
@@wintermoon7003 Yes I did, but I was telling a story about what happened to me. It only happened one time and I dont blame her for it at all!! I was trying to put her back into her enclosure and I think she got a little spooked and decided to take a little chomp at my hand 😂 but ever since then she's been great!!
I’ve had quite a few cresties. I only ever had a problem with one which ironically is the only one that I raised. He is seriously the most grumpy reptile I’ve ever had. He used to screech at me and bite me when ever I tried to handle him. He still to this day tries to bite me on occasion.
I have a beardie and they were actually pretty aggressive when I first got them, but a year later I’m finally getting him to be less stressed and angry when being removed from the tank!
Glad you mentioned the venom with the hognose my bro got bit and didn't know and is allegic to bee n wasp stings had a trip to hospital alot of pet shops don't tell or ask people
My juvenile Boa bit me the first day I got him (it was completely my fault, I didn’t have feeding tongs where I was and he used to eat live so he went for my finger) and it was more startling that painful. By the way, incase you ever get bitten my a snake who thinks your food, put mouth wash or vodka in their mouth, it works like magic. We had luckily just gotten mouth wash for the hotel room where we were staying so I was glad I knew that.
Adam Cashmere thanks! I’ve only seen the snake in live streams. A friend on YT passed three weeks ago and his family are letting his fish and python go. His home is six hours drive from me. Another friend is getting his fish tank and Angelfish so he will bring the snake to me. I’ve had ppl describe it as a common and natural. It would curl around his arm while he was sick the past several months, so is accustomed to handling.
Sorry about ur friend on YT:( but the snake seems pretty cool I only have a leopard gecko and I’m not getting more reptiles until I can actually make money with a job btw I’m only 13.my next reptile might be a hog nose snake if my mom lets me get one. Anyways hope u and ur snake will be happy together( sorry if I rambled on too much I just love talking about reptiles. Last thing do you have any other reptiles beside the ball python your getting
My first pet reptile over 15 years ago was a beardie, who absolutely hated being handled and would actually hold onto you like a pitbull when he bit you. Needless to say, I felt kinda unlucky. RIP Guybrush, you crazy son of a gun.
As someone who worked in a pet store for 7 years, I can tell you every one of those 5 have bit randomly. Reptiles have moods and just do unexpected things.
I got my sons a baby ball python when they were little, somewhat appropriately named "snakey" He lived with us for many years till his death and never once even hissed at anyone, and they boys were not chill or gentle with him often running around holding him in the air yelling "snakey, snakey!!" wonderfull pet and hearty as hell (important when being "cared for" by young boys)
Crested geckos are the best they are soo cute how they run with there tails sticking straight up and there feet flipping on the ground and then jump around
Joe Biden is not an appropriate pet. He is quite old for his species and would require special care. Also, as an endothermic animal, he eats quite a lot.
*me looking at my crested gecko and leopard gecko* when are you guys going to get with the program that you aren’t supposed to bite me? I swear I have the sassiest animals to ever exist
Great video-your #1 choice is 100% correct! Cresties are totally underrated. My crestie, Night Monkey, is awesome and loves to climb all over me (before settling into my hair and, you guessed it, poop on me). Love them!
I just got up to watch this (It's 1am) my new little blizzard leopard gecko is the exception unlike my others , I'm struggling to tame him down he a chomper. I really enjoyed the video - you forgot another animal that don't bite , a good old tortoise. (I'm off to make a crested gecko meme) Great video!!!
My friend once got a albino burm and told his mom it was a albino boa constrictor and she made him sell it to a pet store when it got to 15 feet lmao he actually took great care of it for a 13 year old kid we loved snakes so much it was our life and we had a lot of time to take proper care of it
I love Hognose 🐍, but I prefer Corn 🐍. I had one back in the early 2000s and she was tge most calm and sweet girl. She was gifted by a friend cause she was moving to an apartment that didn't allow pets. Had her for about 8 years before she passed away. She loved to curl around my neck, lap, and on a pillow. Loved to hang out with me. Still miss my Chloe like I miss my Poodle. But the rest of the animals you listed are awesome too! 😊
Tell my crestie he's not supposed to bite! He's going through the "terrible teens" and loves going after my hand. All "tame" snakes will bite you at feeding time if you don't learn the cues. Never been tagged, but my first ball had a ridiculous feeding response and taught me well.
What is your favorite reptile that doesn't bite?
I would have to say Blue-Tongued Skinks are my favorite.
The beardies, compared to the others, amaze me as not biting.
Garter snakes I've always found don't bite.

that crested gecko wanted to say hi to everybody!
sure does!
Thanks for the video! My parents have had reptiles their whole life and I’m just getting into them! So I very much enjoyed this video!
That is awesome!
Thank you for this video! Not a fan of defensive reptiles. My favorites been the bearded dragon. Its a great starter when you’re getting into reptiles but you definitely need to be well versed in their care! Store Starter kits make me cringe 😖
Glad you enjoyed! :)
Just found your channel man. Love your content! (Also, loving the pokemon' names.)
I've actually never been bitten by a reptile but I kinda wanna be bitten by my ball python just to see how it feels like, is that weird?
No! I wanted the same thing! Mine have never bit me but my nieces did when I was babysitting. I actually even squeezed my hand to make it look worse for my pics 🤣 Bucket list checked!
IKR I kind of want to be bitten by my blue tongue skink so I know what it feels like
interesting! It's not terrible
Ball pythons are wimps that's why there so popular.
I think it feels like a big papercut
I'm glad you added that disclaimer because I've been bitten by every single one of these LMAO
My dragon the only time she bit me was when I was feeding her she thought my pinky was food :p
I'm pretty sure he mentioned that they can bite, it just wouldn't be likely. Did you watch the video?
@@wintermoon7003 Yes I did, but I was telling a story about what happened to me. It only happened one time and I dont blame her for it at all!! I was trying to put her back into her enclosure and I think she got a little spooked and decided to take a little chomp at my hand 😂 but ever since then she's been great!!
Also, I like how you mentioned the unpredictable aspect of Boas, it's a reason I actually prefer Retics, you always know where you stand with a Retic!
yeah, you stand as food haha
Wickens Wicked Reptiles It’s all hype, the nicest individuals of this species are the gentlest of the giants.
I’ve had quite a few cresties. I only ever had a problem with one which ironically is the only one that I raised. He is seriously the most grumpy reptile I’ve ever had. He used to screech at me and bite me when ever I tried to handle him. He still to this day tries to bite me on occasion.
This guy is such a mood. I can 100% relate
Me: waiting for the ball python
Ball python: henlo uwu
Me: BABY!! 💕
haha I love me some BPs
I have a beardie and they were actually pretty aggressive when I first got them, but a year later I’m finally getting him to be less stressed and angry when being removed from the tank!
that's awesome!
You should do an episode on reptilian camouflage on species like leaftailed geckos & Peruvian dead leaf lizards🤔🍁🍃
that'd be a good one eh
@@WickensWickedReptiles yes totally! I'm so curious about what your thoughts would be on the subject
I almost died when Yoshi jumped on the camera with her little tootsie
hahahah she's so cute
Glad you mentioned the venom with the hognose my bro got bit and didn't know and is allegic to bee n wasp stings had a trip to hospital alot of pet shops don't tell or ask people
brutal
My juvenile Boa bit me the first day I got him (it was completely my fault, I didn’t have feeding tongs where I was and he used to eat live so he went for my finger) and it was more startling that painful. By the way, incase you ever get bitten my a snake who thinks your food, put mouth wash or vodka in their mouth, it works like magic. We had luckily just gotten mouth wash for the hotel room where we were staying so I was glad I knew that.
I keep mouth wash in the room for that reason
I run cold water on them , they turn loose pretty quick
Even though this is an old video, I have a crested named Tibbers, she is so adorable and such a pistol when it comes to moving around. I love crested.
so cool!
Didn’t know hog noses are rear fang venomous. Still getting a Ball Python tomorrow. I’m excited to have it!
they are indeed
Caylor’s Aquatics congrats on the ball python I’m sure it’s gotta be so cute and fun. Also what morph are you getting?
I did hammer home on this point over and over in the video
I got my sons a baby ball python when they were little, somewhat appropriately named "snakey" He lived with us for many years till his death and never once even hissed at anyone, and they boys were not chill or gentle with him often running around holding him in the air yelling "snakey, snakey!!" wonderfull pet and hearty as hell (important when being "cared for" by young boys)
I came here fully expecting tokays to top this list. I also just had 3 whiskeys neat.
hahahah
My tokay was sweeter then my crested, but the one time it bit me scared the shit out of me
The camera boop was a thing of beauty😭🥰😂
Do a top 5 that are known to be bitey
I coulllld
@@WickensWickedReptiles Do it!!!
Definitely corn snakes
Crested geckos are the best they are soo cute how they run with there tails sticking straight up and there feet flipping on the ground and then jump around
"The only animal I don't have in my collection, JOE BIDEN" Thanks advertisement
Sneaky joe does it again, hahaha
That's an animal that should probably not be in any collection. Except for a zoo with trained professionals maybe
Joe Biden is not an appropriate pet. He is quite old for his species and would require special care. Also, as an endothermic animal, he eats quite a lot.
@@lexslate2476 amazing 😉
A Joe Biden wouldn’t make a good pet. They are very bad a musking during human interaction.
Best reptile channel? YES
*me looking at my crested gecko and leopard gecko* when are you guys going to get with the program that you aren’t supposed to bite me?
I swear I have the sassiest animals to ever exist
hahah some can be a bit much eh
I got my crested Gecko from a lady who never handled it. He was pretty wild
Great video-your #1 choice is 100% correct! Cresties are totally underrated. My crestie, Night Monkey, is awesome and loves to climb all over me (before settling into my hair and, you guessed it, poop on me). Love them!
haha, see, no gecko ever poops in my hair....
Interesting note: hognose snakes are actually venomous. It’s very mild, but venomous.
rear fanged venomous, I've done a few videos like this
I have a crested gecko named Bagel and his personality is so hilarious. I don't see how people can say they're boring haha.
I just got up to watch this (It's 1am) my new little blizzard leopard gecko is the exception unlike my others , I'm struggling to tame him down he a chomper. I really enjoyed the video - you forgot another animal that don't bite , a good old tortoise.
(I'm off to make a crested gecko meme)
Great video!!!
oh yessss a tortttty!
@@WickensWickedReptiles Awwww yeah, they would rather get just get in their shell and wait for food
Does your leopard still bite? Did you get it at a young age?
My friend once got a albino burm and told his mom it was a albino boa constrictor and she made him sell it to a pet store when it got to 15 feet lmao he actually took great care of it for a 13 year old kid we loved snakes so much it was our life and we had a lot of time to take proper care of it
awesome!
why did I flinch when the crested gecko jumped on the camera hahhaah
hahahaha
Hey just found your channel, new subscriber. Love the vids 😊
Thanks for subbing :)
Love the intro and great info thanks for the vid :-)
Glad you liked it!
Not boring at all.. Beautiful.... Good info..
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video. Second the bearded dragon. Mine just passed at 17 years old. Keep up the good work
thanks for watching, sorry for your loss
I've got every one except the snakes. And I agree with you, Cresties are so underrated! Definitely not boring!
100%
I love how lizards compromise and give the predator a little meal and they get to keep their lives
kinda cool right
Tell my crestie he's not supposed to bite! He's going through the "terrible teens" and loves going after my hand.
All "tame" snakes will bite you at feeding time if you don't learn the cues. Never been tagged, but my first ball had a ridiculous feeding response and taught me well.
thanks for watching :)
The leopard gecko I just adopted is a bitter she comes at my hand like she’s a monitor lizard lol
