  • 1979 G body El Camino Junkyard Find. Another G body El Camino dead and gone. This one took a pretty nasty hit to the front end. Shame because it looked to be a pretty solid car or truck, depending on who you ask. Not much to say on this one. There was still some good pieces here and there like trim and the back glass. The rear bumper was in good shape and the tailgate could possibly be saved. Just a quick walk around on this one.

Hey, the original keys! It'll be a struggle to get the ignition switch out that's for sure! But an OEM set nevertheless. Looks to be a repaint of the original paint, guess she hit a wall or somethin.

Looks like it was probably a 305 originally (maybe a 350, couldn't tell, no VIN or anything in your video). I'd say it was damaged bad before hand, you can see a lot of evidence of filler on the right side, it's pretty thick and looks like someone put it on with a trowel. LOL. That was a nasty hit, looks like it took out the driver's side seat back. You know you're in TX when you see a Big Red can on the floorboard of the vehicle. LOL.

These would have had a low performance 350 "LM1" V8. Nothing special, but I'm sure with some work, they can be made into decent runners.

@@googleusergp Yes...for the time, they were stout. My 1978 had the original 350 in it when I got it. Something like 185hp..lol

@@apdabeast15 True. My '79 Trans Am with the Pontiac 400 (last year) was 220 HP on paper, probably more like 250-260 in real life. Supposedly NHRA tested them and got those numbers. Surely can be woken up with some tweaking. The foundation is surely there for it.
