    It's the Mattel Big Jim Action Figure! In this episode, I'm looking at the base set-up figure as it was sold and released in 1972 in North America.

    Super Great Review👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽I had/still do have alot of Big Jim figures/playsets as a kid and let me tell you it's nice to see reviews done on him. You broke it down perfectly and the slow mo karate chop was AWESOME. This toy line is a 4 gotten one and I dont understand why.

      Yeah I don't know if it's the rapid release of toy lines in North America that toy lines like this get forgotten. Overseas saw more expansion on Big Jim from what I found in research. Thanks Anthony for watching and comment!👍

    Big Jim was the favored toy amongst me and my friends. Between us we had a lot of gear. I had the racing motorcycle, the jungle truck and the camp set; another friend had the camper; two brothers had the plane, kung fu studio and rescue rig. Those were the days.

    Nice video! I just started reacquiring the Big Jim stuff that I had as a kid. Big Jim, Big Jeff, the plane, the camper, as well as some stuff I didn't have back then. The Elsinore Dirt bike, the Rescue Rig (which my next door neighbor friend had) as well as Big Jack and Big Josh. In '78 I had moved on to Star Wars and I didn't even know all that great European stuff existed. I also didn't know, until doing my ebay searches, about the camper and plane being repurposed from Barbie lines. I'm not too sure how happy I would've been, as a kid, about that.

      Very cool! 👍 Same with about the toy lines, when Star Wars came out all attention shifted that way. There are so many cool figures and sets from the Big Jim Mattel line, the dirt bikes and vehicles are pretty awesome. Thanks for watching!

    Merci pour votre super vidéo, qui me rappelle mon Big Jim de 1976 ! Au début des années 70, Big Jim avait été importé en France par Mattel sous le nom "Mark Strong"! (pour éviter une confusion avec d'autres jouets existants) Je me souviens que Big Jim avait une médaille d'or olympique dans sa boîte. Il n'y avait pas la petite planche que l'on voit dans votre vidéo, qu'il brise en deux d'une manchette de karaté.

    My brother and I each got one of these for Christmas one year. I think we lost the baseballs in the first 5 minutes of playing with them. We also got the Sports Camper at the same time. I got several other figures in the series later. The biggest problem I had was that the ball joints would break off. That was definitely the weak point of the toy. So, until I got some superglue, I had Double-Leg-Amputee Big Jim. The other problem was his arm muscle mechanism would eventually rip through the rubber skin.

    • @infonut
      @infonut 2 года назад +1

      You're right.
      I think I went through 3 before I gave up on them.
      NEVER attempt to spread his legs or one will fall off.
      This WAS during the Nixon administration so this was probably a deliberate conservative design.
