This song made me cry once actually, I was feeling very down one day and I just flew around Sholazar and when the first song came on I just bawled my eyes out hahah. Very pretty music.
Leaving Animal Kingdom at Disney today with my young family - wife and kid, and this song is playing as we leave. I’m instantly transported back nearly 15 years to a much simpler time.
@@thylacine622 They apparently licensed it, along with some other pieces, to play at the entrance to that park. I've never been there but I've seen multiple people talk about it. Just goes to show how much of a masterpiece the WotLk soundtrack was.
Whenever I listen to this music, it reminds me of doing daily quests with the oracles and waiting in their big for their mysterious egg to hatch. Awww... The good times... l:)
What's great about this zone, is even when I was doing dalaran fishing dailies in the center pond here, I would always feel like the zone was wrapped around me in the most cozy feeling (its hard to explain) the music and trickling of the water the sound of people dismounting to come and fish when it wasn't deserted. People actually being kind to each other, omg the combination of artwork and music is overwhelming. When they invent the time machine, ill put all my money into going back to 2008!!!
I love this place. My level wasn't high enough for this location, but I was passionate herbs gatherer and everyone helps me when NPC's attacked me - many dwarfs, gnomes, people and others. (It was many times, I need herbs soo bad) They all protected me. If you ever played on Magtheridon somewhere between 2012-2019 and saved female night elf, may your gods protects you.
i remember the first time i vsited this zone, the only feeling that comes to mind when i think back to that day is comfortable, the music, the jungle atmosphere, the quests, everything just felt so right and beautiful, my favorite part of this zone was the fishingdaily from dal. just sitting, fishing, watching others fish it sucks that no other music/zones in cata, or MoP can make me feel how northrend did. i miss wanting to play this game, i miss the people that made me want to play this game.
my WoW experience suffered greatly during Cata. lots of my friends stopped playing, people i'd been with for years. There was a point I was strongly considering retiring as well. One day, for a reason I cannot remember I called Blizz and they put me on hold. This song played and the memories beckoned. Wrath was a great time for WoW, a time the music reminded of, and so I didn't retire after all. Here's to what tomorrow brings. Sad but true.
This track really surprised me when I first heard it. It's the first and only example of a zone's music veering into song territory rather than ambiance.
Just on a side note, my favourite expansion was the burning crusade. This is when I first started playing WoW with a max character. I started playing before the expansion but because of how long it took to level back then I had not hit 60 when expansion launched and sadly missed seeing the Dark portal event. The Burning Crusade, to sum this expansion up; fun, challenging, and tedious. The memory sticks out for me with expansion is when I got my epic flying, I still remember spending hours up
2 people have been camped in sholazar basin to such an extent that the music haunts them and gives them seizures from the amount of hours spent trying to run and hide from the ganker who seemed to appear out of nowhere and BAM!
I started wow in this expansion...its like the game changed when i got to northrend.....suddenly...i felt the mystery of Howling Fjord, Vengeance Landing...I had to walk through most of northrend until level 76 until i got enough gold for my first mount ever....when i finally hit shalazar basin....the music here i played over and over in my head everyday for a few weeks....i love the music here...the mystery of the best jungle in wow.
Many people dont like Cataclysm but let's face it, WOTLK and Cata have actually interesting quests, not only composing of kill X of this monster or loot X of this item. Loremaster of Outland was relentless (monotony + entire continent "talk to dude X, then talk to dude Y on the opposite world edge" trips) while Northrend was manageable.
All you herbalist out there. Some may not realize that this zone and Zul'Drak(on my realm anyways) are areas that have the best chance for dropping Frost Lotus. If you farm at night, you're likely to get a stack of Frost Lotus in about an hour to an hour and a half.
Wrath will always be my favorite time, so many good memories of raiding, PVPing with friends, guildies, irl friends. Questing, waiting for all the rare pets to tame, and especially quesitng and exploring, Northrend made me feel like it was a completely fresh place way out there, and I do miss when It was crowded, now it's just like outlands. With all the money they get, they should really let you freeze the server and play during certain patches, i'd still be in Uld patch man
new character. A paladin, I leveled him up to 80 very quickly because of all the nerfed xp it took nothing which I didn't care for. My absolute best memory in WOTLK was ICC; patch 3.3 is when I choose a healing role for the first time in WoW and I was hooked. Patch 3.3, along with the new raid Icecrown Citadel and the new dungeons, their was a dungeon finder which changed WoW forever. I remember it being around Christmas break (when I was still in school) and did nothing but lfd and raided.
Every time i visit Sholazar Basin i always go to the hatch and expect to see John Locke beating on the door. Thumbs up if you love this area in the game! :D
@Gulanzon It's the desire to jump into the world, the world untouched by civilisation, living at somewhat peace and in connection with the nature. When I hear this music, it is enhanced a thousand times. It seems to just hit my weak points I guess..but it really is a nicely designed zone, showing us that you don't need giant monsters or phasing to create great zones.
you know...if you just lift the music from the game, you can put this on your MP3 player and listen to it all the time! :D I have a personal little collection I listen to that consists of some of the night elf music, this one (Sholazar), and the music from Stranglethorn, which is nice and holds many fond memories. :) I'm often not happy about what Blizz does to my toons and general gameplay, but I LOVE the world it's in, and all of it's epic music!
I actually enjoyed Sholazar Basin best in Northrend. It felt warm and welcoming, but you can't stay home forever. Good thing that the cold and adventerous Icecrown is so close eh? Oh WOTLK how I miss you and being a noob..
If you like this music, check out the artist Kitaro. If he wasn't the inspiration for this zone's music... well. Let's just say this reminded me of him.
I recently quit about a month ago. Cataclysm made me think "wtf?" about this game but I stuck with it. Then as more and more news came out about Mists of Pandaria I thought "Ok, ttyl!". WoTLK was my most favorite expansion, and I've played ever since WoW was in classic. Maybe if they make an expansion with quality like Wrath or an entire new game or franchise of good quality, I might become a subscriber again. Goodbye for now Sholazar, maybe our paths will cross again some day :,(
Yeah, i was doing night shifts, when i had thanks to addon, path that i was miningt saronite (i think it's called that) and titanium ore, was so magical, played cata also, and it isn't the same at all.
@Oromis0011 yeah, Arthas was awesome character, everybody knew his story. deathwing is kinda distant and unknown character even tho hes been around since warcraft 2
This song made me cry once actually, I was feeling very down one day and I just flew around Sholazar and when the first song came on I just bawled my eyes out hahah.
Very pretty music.
same, i was just walking through the jungle with Jaloot

I hope all is well for you now
Back when WoW was a game made with passion...
If there is no wow for sure Blizzard will cry haha
Anyone remember that lake in Sholazar Basin with that spooky whistling soundtrack?
That was so awesome.
Hell yea bro. You can listen to it on RUclips as well
RUclips sholazar basin life music 2
Best song in history of WoW
agreed
0:47 hit me deep in the heart
Walking into Sholazar Basin 13 years later in Wrath Classic hearing the first song just hits different.
Leaving Animal Kingdom at Disney today with my young family - wife and kid, and this song is playing as we leave. I’m instantly transported back nearly 15 years to a much simpler time.
Why did Disney play wow music? 😅😂

@@WormyMaster Well the composer had previously worked for Disney, might have something to do with it.
@@thylacine622 a year later, they still do
I just heard this while walking out of Animal Kingdom, and bust out laughing... was not expecting to hear wow music at disney world
Whenever I listen to this music, it reminds me of doing daily quests with the oracles and waiting in their big for their mysterious egg to hatch. Awww... The good times... l:)
I actually heard this music at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom. It was playing just outside the park by the tram/ticket kiosks.
I say to Blizzard, This is a real nice work of you, Thanks to the creator of this place and Music maker
Y'all. They play the first song in the entrance of Disney's Animal Kingdom park. Someone there is secretly a Warcrafter 👌
good old days
NHS 111 brought me here. If you know, you know.
Always loved this zone, reminds me of playing Tales of Symphonia :D
This music + RainyMood = my favourite.
Ahhh , Lich King😢😢😢....good old days man 😢😢😢😢😢
This has some sadness. Two sides fighting eachother, one must kill other to win...
What's great about this zone, is even when I was doing dalaran fishing dailies in the center pond here, I would always feel like the zone was wrapped around me in the most cozy feeling (its hard to explain) the music and trickling of the water the sound of people dismounting to come and fish when it wasn't deserted. One of my favorite soundtracks in WoW. Then again, many of them can be tagged as that :)

Sholazar basin is soo adorable. It's mainly because of the Oracles.

Shit that hit right in the feels... Could spend days and days sitting in Sholazar just for this...
How could anyone dislike this? It's just so beautiful...and relaxing...aaahhh...I like how long this one is. :)
This was by far the BEST zone themes in all of World of Warcraft. An absolute masterpiece.
I just figured out how to play the flute part!!! So awesome!!
the good old days when u were a teen, had not much worries and went into this zone after school and played WotlK :)
Best zone. Best song. And it has a little Aztec/Maya influence too.
This track really surprised me when I first heard it. It's the first and only example of a zone's music veering into song territory rather than ambiance.
I gotta say this game had some really great music.
Ooooh Loque nahak, about 3 weeks in this zone trying to find him and yet this music never disappointed me
Even with the Shattering, Sholazar remains one of my favourite zones.

so true, I once or twice cried too! I just freaking love this soundtrack.
I remember when I used to go to Sholazar Basin simply to listen to the music and relax.
I'll never forget being 16 and turning off and on zone music to hear this song because of how much I LOVED it while searching for King Krush to tame
we all did, now it's all gone and forgot, we moved on thank god.
i wish when ever i went into a forest i herd this beautiful music :)
TRUEEE
Exploring here makes me happy. Then I saw the Waygate to Un'Goro, and my heart filled with a sense of fulfillment that only a Loretard's heart can.
really love that beginning intro so damn much

where my fellow saronite miners at !?
ahh the hours we spent flying in circles in this place mining......
this music made it bearable.
I like the first part of the song. It reminds me of first walking into Sholazar Basin.
finally i found this .. so beautiful and relaxing .. Sholazar Basin is my favorite zone. Then Grizzly Hills ;)

best piece of wow music ever r.i.p wrath
Fishing with an opposing faction's player on a lake, priceless.
Northrend is one of the most breathtaking places in wow, i hang here all the time
I agree, I would suggest they make zones have quests of all lvls not with the lvl cutoffs that they have now - let us mix it up!
I wish MoP music could be half this inspiring.
I love this area so much
Amazing.

man, i regret not levelling here. i missed the music and the proto drake.
My top 5:
5. Northrend Orc Music
4. Sholazar Basin
3. Zangarmarsh
2. Black Temple Illidari Music
1. Storm Peaks Day and Night music
This song reminds me of the jungle themes in Final Fantasy 11- mainly the Windurst areas.
I kept expecting to find a vengeful LeChuck wandering around this zone.
Am I the only one who thought that the oracles were freakin' adorable ?!
aww hell yeah man, Animal Kingdom ftw :P i actually just posted a comment about hearing this soundtrack in another video

in Nagrand farming Primals in Elemental Plateau. At the time you could only do 10 dailies a day so 5,000 was quite a bit to get during the expansion.
first part so fabulous
I can't believe this. I loved questing in Sholazar but I always had the music off. o___o!
@Oromis0011 Arthas was practicly the first name that came to your mind when you heard wow or warcraft, he practicly represented the whole game...
I actually heard this song playing while at a Disney theme park on vacation. It was awesome but did unfortunately increase my WoW withdraws.
I had luck finding Aotona, I just logged out in some random place and when I logged in again Aotona was in front of me :D Same goes for King Crash :D
when I was in Animal Kingdom I heard this song and I knew it was from WoW
