Thank you for showing this car again. #1) I wish that I could afford it #2) I would have to hire someone to drive it for me, as my vision is 1/2 a little below legality blind. But my vision is sharp enough, to appreciate its beauty. Thank you again for showing it.

My father had the exact same car, even the same color combination. He purchased it in 1958, he was the second owner, it had around 11,000 miles when he bought it.

Nothing like a Cadillac to make you feel like a real man.

You have more of a story on how it survived so well?

There is a knob down by where ones left knee would be. What does it do?

    • @pbrandon4129

That is odd. The owners manual only says convertible top switch with no alternatives.

@@pbrandon4129 Yes that is where the convertible top switch goes, but this car isn't a convertible. The knob however, looks factory.
I did make a post on the Cadillac 54-56 Facebook page to see if anyone might know.

Probably a switch to open/close the footwell air vent. Our '56 Olds had the parking brake release there, but with a light.

@ralphl7643 no. They were located to the left and right of the steering column. The left side was wiper switch, driver air vent. The right side was passenger air vent and the lighter.

@@GenrlRodes That's the way our Olds was, so the knob probably is the brake release. The light is on at one point, to the left of the wiper switch. But then what's the 4" horizontal bar lower and to the left? Aftermarket? And the crude off-low-high lever on the left edge of the cluster? That or the leftmost knob must be the Autronic eye high beam control.

Is the 29k miles on the odometer correct?

I can’t confirm that. But the car is really nice everywhere you look. There’s really no evidence of long use when inspecting the chassis. Everything looks so fantastic on this car it’s hard to dispute it. But I have to say that an extremely well cared for car could look like this with over 100,000 miles.

@@rodneyracer Think you for replying. It could have over 100,000 miles looking at the wear on the divers seat.
