Questions remain after co-pilot ‘exited’ plane before emergency landing at RDU

Investigators are still sorting through information after a 23-year-old Raleigh man died July 29, 2022, after he "exited" out of a cargo plane that went on to make an emergency landing at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Here are the details.

There’s a lot more to this story and hopefully we won’t have to wait that much longer for it to all come out.
They were fighting, and only one lives to tell the tale.
Suspect that pilot suggested the copilot go back and look at wheel (from the rear hatch). Gust of wind 100mph wind blew copilot out, or perhaps some unexpected turbulence he lost his footing. Pilot felt guilty for letting him go back without a tether. In shock, told FAA or controllers that copilot 'jumped'. VERY DOUBTFUL.
Of course we have to wait for more info before making conclusions, but thank you for this (I assume) plausible explanation. I couldn't imagine how someone would accidentally fall or be maliciously pushed, but I also couldn't imagine a pilot jumping due to landing gear issues. A plausible way of accidentally falling helps to soothe my mind until (hopefully) some real answers come.
Come on folks! The poor guy was just trying to check the Malfunctioning wheel. This is what we do as pilots, if we can. This guy just lost his grip. Young, invincible, He just blew it.
Unusual story, I have heard of passengers doing that out of fear but this is a first for a co pilot.
Before landing.. "how many souls on board?" Two
After landing... "where is the other pilot?"..... His name is Houdini, I have no idea where he went!! 😱
I have to believe the communication between the pilot and the tower said they had a hard landing and lost a wheel???
So would that be a touch and go??
So the wheel falling off should be close to the previous airport??
I think I would look for a footprint on the deceased's back

Correction ATC there’s is only “1” on board.
There is something seriously fishy about this story. Pilot never even mentions the other guy but had to know when he left his seat. May be a while before the law figures it all out.
Considering how good the emergency landing was, it makes me wonder if the deceased pilot was flying during the hard landing.

@@busterthe2 20 miles ago the copilot "fell"...must have been soon after the landing attempt... I have no evidence but there are people in this world evil enough for me to suspect.
I feel like what happened is he went back to look at the wheel and fell accidentally bc that airplane was also used for skydiving and I believe it had an opening that he may have fell from.
Said he fell 4000 feet! That’s a f---g nightmare!
you forgot the part where the copilot dude thru a tantrum and jumped out.
One of the pilots didn’t agree to taking off again after the plane lost a wheel. He then decided he had better chance of survival if he jumped out? Although it was a hard landing the first time, is it possible to take off again after the plane had already touched down?
With half your main landing gear inoperable? No.
A nice landing all the same, pity the other guy didn’t stick it out 😟

The 13-minute recording of a 911 call made by two Federal Aviation Administration employees in the air traffic control tower at Raleigh-Durham International Airport may shine some light on the situation, with the workers suggesting the other pilot reported that Crooks had jumped.
“This is from Raleigh Airport. We have a pilot that was inbound to the field. His co-pilot jumped out of the aircraft,” an FAA employee says before providing the coordinates of where the incident unfolded.
"So, they said he jumped out of the aircraft," the employee says. "His co-pilot jumped out without the parachute, so he might have impact to the ground.”
.....Alternatively they guess he may still be floating around up there, but this is as yet unconfirmed according to the FAA

What in the 🌎 world happened and why did the co-pilot didn't have on a seat belt are parachute something in is not adding up
