What’s the bottom ruler for? Im new to crafting and got a paper trimmer but still don’t know what it’s function is for. Is it just to help cut larger paper ?

yes that's exactly right. So if you have a large piece, you can make sure it's straight by checking both the top and the bottom rulers. :)

P.S. also sometimes people who are left handed prefer to line up their paper at the bottom rather than the top and use the trimmer sideways. So it's useful that way, too.
