Looks brilliant - only thing I'd add if you can find the assets are a bunch of parked planes or airport vehicles on the big unused concrete areas between the taxiways.
Biffa added another bus terminal in the airport and created his own in front of it. Biffa already has a bus airport terminal so now Biffa has 3 bus terminals at the airport. 😂

You know what I appreciate about your videos? Your detailing time lapses aren't overly long. Some city skylines RUclipsrs make those portions of the videos the majority of the video but you keep most of yours as a real time play. And I thank you for that. It's more enjoyable to just watch you build and talk us through it. Have a great Saturday!

Agreed. Biffa has a good mix of talking bits and time lapse. I mainly enjoy watching him express his confusion and get exasperated with the game jumping about, or weird bugs, or the way the citizens of his cities just doing odd things. Like ignoring roads.
Agree 100%. I have not found another RUclipsr I like to watch the whole video. I like Oe but I find myself skipping a lot. Cityzilla is another great one. But I always choose Biffa as my fav.
Yeah I used to watch a few other CS YTs but I mostly just watch Biffa now as I'm a bit short on time and I find his video's the most enjoyable. I do occasionally watch 4viator as they have some interesting ways to design Cities.
Biffa I think you need to add alien rock park in other areas if you find anymore. Or you can create an actual nature park dedicated to them.

Interestingly, New Tealand would be quite resilient against tsunamis or rogue waves due to its outer rings of islands
Of course tsunamis would still make it through due to the "wrap around" effect,
And they could just go over if big enough, but still
So a safe and secure city... well, except for the mystery flying rocks, but it also is in a low tsunami zone so...
As long as we recognize the rocks as our supreme overlords, we shall surely be protected!
You added a new bus terminal, but you already have one attached to the airport from the Airports DLC, close to the hotels. I may have missed it, but are you planning to use both terminals?
also is the one near the hotels attached? the one way symboles don't seem to attach to the road...
Suggestion: A fountain in the green space behind the new bus terminal at Teathrow.
You might want to check the spawn points on your main airport building to fix that call for police. I have a feeling something is bugged there with access if you had a police department there and it still didn't resolve.
Emergency services and the Airport DLC are a thing of wonders. You need Emergency services everywhere, but there is no real good way to incorporate emergency services in Airport DLC airports. Although airport terminals and airplane stands can and will burn a proper airport fire service is not included into the DLC. In the end you can only let it burn or use helicopters. Biggest problem is the lack of roads and vehicles on the tarmac. A fire engine can never get to a fire on the tarmac. Police and Ambulance services are lacking, too. It would have been nice if a simple solution like there is for the bus and train services would have been in the DLC, but to this day they are not available. An opportunity for CS2 to make that happen.

Hotels and plane noise. Not an issue. I’ve stayed at a hotel where it’s literally attached to the airport and my room faced the runway. That building is so soundproof. (BDL airport in Connecticut)
Yeah, airport hotels are *extremely* well soundproofed... in some cases they're actually part of the terminal, so that transiting passengers don't need to go through immigration. The bigger problem isn't the noise... it's that airports don't like putting tall buildings close to the flight path, so they'll usually be located well away from the runway and taxiways.
I love how you made owners of EVs have to walk a long way to get to the terminal.
Airport looks fantastic now, I would only add large fountain in that empty grass area infront of the airport entrance

I feel like now you have it more complete, you should shrink you're island back in a bit especially by that little helicopter bit. There is an excessive amount of green space. Other than that - love your work as usual!
It's not that the *green* space is excessive... it's that the empty space is excessive. Green space is important for drainage around airports, since it absorbs the water that runs off the concreted areas, preventing flooding. But you're right, the island is far bigger than it needs to be - the airport island is almost as large as the rest of the city's flat land combined, and land reclamation on that scale is expensive.
A bit of forrest between the hotels and the airport might work wonders regarding to noise levels
Yes, though airports don't much like having trees around the runway. Apart from their effect of blocking line of site, they tend to attract birds living in them, and airports go to a lot of effort to discourage birds from flying around in the path of aircraft.

As a suggestion I think the terminal roads aren’t that realistic compared to Beijing Daxing Airport which you based this airport on. There should be some ellipse like terminal road layout not a triangle with extremely sharp turns into the terminal. Use google maps if you’d confused with this comment. Keep the amazing work up!
Biffa took inspiration from Beijing Daxing Airport for the terminal but has taken inspiration from Heathrow for the parking, runways, and roads.
The end of the road neat the airclub can be used as nice place for plane-spotters, don't you think? ;)
The green space in front of the Terminal could use a display plane from the Airplane Museum.

I can’t wait for the next dlc and the other three content creator packs, especially Railroads of Japan. That ccp is more than just railroads there are trains metros buses stations service buildings parks unique buildings and so much more!

The hotels area...you have 2 way streets and a one way 1u in front of the hotels. Probably should be 2 way otherwise you have a lot of U turns at the one end. But it all looks good otherwise. Keep it up! I don't do the detail very well so learning from what I see you doing.
Great work as always sir. Whilst I like the grass triangle right at the nape of the airport. Maybe some pretty colour bushes and a model airplane on a stand in the middle? Feel like that’s prime real estate for a little jet or something to show off biff-air’s Aviation history. :-)
23:12 don't forget to fix the airport roads use the right ones, you need to use 1 way road with bus line on the right side
The industrial road should be underground near the runway. The airplanes fly over that particular stretch of road and could blow the vehicles off.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one with crime issues on their airport from the Airports DLC, despite the preseng of a pilice station right next to the airport terminal.
Hey Biffa, love the video, but something I think you may have missed. Can you walk from the terminal to the hotel complex, or from the main road into your pedestrian area, from outside the airport, or from the terminal?

I liked the spreading triangle effect you initially had with the hotels in front of the airport- but the parking and other features make more sense there. It might be worth considering extending those triangle lines beyond the airport for additional hotels or other features that could add to the "grand entrance" effect of converging towards the airport (or the reverse of all passengers being able to spread out into the greater region).
Would probably have to fill in some of the land in the area to continue that, and you probably wouldn't want it to go on forever, but could make for an interesting visual. One side might be able to merge in into the outer island arc of the map. The Tealand Teathrow Tea--ramid to Transportation, if you will. ;)
As always enjoyed this. Two suggestions for the next time: 1. the aviation club needs some parking spaces 2. the distribution center is really lonely, maybe put a cargo airport between it and the runway?
That funky ground texture you saw at the beginning of the video was from the terrain being under the water, after it's not underwater for a while it clears up by itself

I had some ideas that I'd like to share. I was thinking that at the end of the terminals where they T-off, it might be cool to have the Ultra Modern Concourse Hub. It would add some bulk to that end of the airport and make it look less thin.
Another idea I had was to add a large statue in the front area with the grass. I think it would look really cool and help fill out the space.
Also, I was thinking that it might be a good idea to have a fire station within the airport itself, maybe near the hangers area. After all, every airport needs a response team.

Airports don't like a lot of bushes and high grasses it gives too much cover for birds too close to the planes. They spend a lot of time and money keeping the grass well tended and low to ground. Your airport with the scrub cover and being on the water would be a bird strike derby.

The only thing I would have tried differently, is to get rid of the criminal activities at the main hub. But I'm not sure how and whether it is possible. But what I'd like to know is; Is this affecting your airport traffic at all? It seemed so quiet. You had Heathrow up as an example, which is superbusy. I'd expect a lot more cars on the roads in your build as well.
27:20 - With metros station, I never run a line through multiple stations, always add a new line from each station to the next dependant on distance between the them. Reduces train and people waiting count and increases drop off and pickup.
I do believe with each transfer, a Cim is less and less likely to want to use public transportation.
Which works the exact same way in real life, would you want to switch lines 20+ times or just jump into your car and get there in one go? 🤣
A few concrete paths connecting to runways and roads, also to and around buildings add some cool extra detail. The paths will light up the edges at night.
Biffa, I think you need to move the Aviation Club away from the Main Runway. You wouldn't bet allowed to have anything that close in the real world. Move it down onto the reclaimed land well away from Teathrow. Also airports have perimeter fences around the for security separating "Land-side" from Air-side."
You could make a lovely scenic direct train route from the city centre across those two islands and into the airport, would be much more direct that the long way it goes currently!

If I remember correctly Biffa, you tried creating that historic castle park before the parks and plazas dlc but had trouble as you didn’t like the road going through, now you could redo that with a pedestrian area! 😊

You have some fun content here. With that said, you might want to remove all the overhead power lines in side the airport proper. There is a international rule stating that there should be no tall structures within one mile of the flightpath and end of runway.
The main entrance to the airport is with a toll gate. And the side entrance with the hotels are without the toll. Sims will take that route to use the airport as that's free. That could be fixed by adding another toll to the new side area.

I think there are too many tall buildings near the runway. I don't know if you're going for realism, but you don't typically see that many tall buildings near the runway especially at a busy airport. For safety reasons of course. lol

I believe the look of the grass is dependent on the airport area. The grass becomes nice and flat inside the airport when you designate it.

Me: "But buses don't go there the airport bus station is over..."
Biffa puts in bus roads that serve as stations.
Me: "Why are you putting bus roads in there?"
Biffa places Bus station.
Me: "But you already have a bus terminal! It's on the other side of the concourse! Why would you not use that station; it's there, passengers can get out and unload protected by a roof and can go straight into the airport without having to worry about bad weather; unlike that station in the middle of the airport."
Watching Biffa unlock the Airpot Bus Terminal's road and replace it with another; have the bus station almost full screen on the screen; no light goes on in Biffa's head.
Me: "COME ON! It's right there!"

airport looks much better. only thing missing now i would reckon is just some emergency services for the whole of the island. i think with how spread out the whole city is there would be its own little node of services.
I think you could expand the warehouses around the airport. You have so much space you could utalise. It would make the area come more alive

I know it’s a old video but I did really get a kick out of not noticing or saying anything about the cars u turning on the ring road for services when the one way hits two way head on. Lol never change
Recommendation: you can put a parked plane (found in the airport menu) as a centre peice for passengers as they come out of the front of the main terminal building
I am worried that the pilot of Bif-Air was decreasing his height as opposed to his altitude, I hope he will be tall enough to reach the controls :-)
I suggest making a rock pyramid with all the big rocks and make it look like it's old overgrown and crumbling

You should create a direct link between the highway and airport like here in Melbourne. Just a partial Y/half-trumpet will do.
There should be a more direct connection between the Airport and Mainland metro, if possible.
Excellent, Biffa! That's a beautiful build especially at night; it looks like a real airport! (Except for the three bus terminals, lol) And your city looks beautiful at night!
And looking at the satellite view at night I noticed you could extend the Tearantula- Dean Square line to run under the mountains and New Tealand Sound directly into the Airport terminal metro stop!
Would love to see special buses/shuttles from the hotels to the departures and four stops in the parking lots to the departures and arrivals.

Hey Biffa. In celebration of the release of a new Zelda game why don't you take some of those rocks from Alien Rock Park and scatter them randomly miles high into the sky in one corner of the map. There are even ancient ruin assets that you can use to decorate them. I reckon the backstory will be; In ancient times the coffee traffic became so bad on the surface world that the Tea gods raised islands into the sky for all the tea drinkers to live on in peace. But then they ran out of biscuits so returned to the surface and built a kick ass metro system.
I love the warmth of Sodium parking lot lights.

The raised section of road at the airport, I was thinking the road should connect to the main road, rather than the having to drive all the way through the carparking area to get to it, as a quick route for pick-up/drop off.
I notice at the beginning of the fix that the police and garbage warnings are flashing over your airport terminal, and no matter how many cop shops and trash collection units you place nearby, theyh never solve the problem. If you are using Transport Manager CE, you can fix it by selecting the terminal in the 'Buildings' dialog of a dedicated police station and trash unit.
how about a busline going from main airport reception around the carpark to the bus hub and back? (couple of mini-busses should be good) to allow airport users to get to their cars if they don't want to walk

I would place a small police and fire station in the immediate area of the airport. Perhaps even a small medical clinic. Yes, there are the helicopter depots for these, but I don't think the game recognizes them as providing direct service.
