Have had this exact model for almost a year now. It's fantastic. I've tried adding a 16gb Ram stick as well as a 24gb stick, for 32 & 40gb respectively. Decided to go with 32 as it seemed to bench just a bit higher. Also added 2 2TB drives in it. This PC has ran everything I've thrown at it including Alan Wake 2 with no issues at good settings. It can game very well, and on the other hand can run at 10-15w TOTAL power when on battery. 15w usage with a 100wh battery means nearly 8hrs of battery life doing basic computing. Really a great machine. You wont regret it. I got it nearly a year ago for 1290USD to my doorstep.

You can upgrade the ram until 48 gb
16gb soldered, and the rest is so-dimm up to 32gb

Thanks man. Yeah i also thought the ram is upgradeable when i bought it but i am not sure if it really is for my version because i dont see any way to remove the ram
@@Unkn0wnTech just remove the ram cover shown on 7:06, so u can upgrade ur ram via one extra sodimm slot, 16gb come soldered and u have one extra free sodimm slot, for extending the ram capacity

For the wallpaper i use wallpaper engine and for the widgets some rainmeter skins. I have a video of how to set it up on my channel

Whats your idea about connecting it to monitor and playing games with closed lid?
Yeah you can do that but this laptop has such a great screen you will pay a lot of money for a better one, so why not use the monitor of the laptop
@@Unkn0wnTech actually i have 34" ultra wide monitor. So my question was if I close lid and play, how much does the temperature spikes ( considering it has vents on top)?
Oh ok, that makes sense, but unfortunatly i havent tested out the performance with a closed lid, but i recon the temperatures are going to by higher. If you plan on using the laptop that way i think you could also maybe try out some of those laptop coolers
@@Unkn0wnTech could you test couple of graphic intense games with lid closed if possible? So i can make decision to buy it😊
I would really like to help you out here, but at the moment i dont habe access to this machine as i am not at home, so i am really sorry that i cant do any Tests. However i belive that a closed lid wont make that much of a diffrences as the vents on the top side are pretty small and the cooling it self is pretty efficent.
