White Maori, He was far from lucky mate, it is quite sad he has suffered his whole life with ALS and not given up to do the thing that he loves. Personally, If I had ALS and suffered that badly, I would have requested euthanasia almost immediately. Absolutely amazing he lived such a long life considering the doctors said he only had 2 years to live once he got diagnosed when he was 23.

Honestly, I've always tried to think about what it would be like if different fundamental constants and equations had different values. This was a really neat Pi day video! can't wait for next year. =)

Its pretty complicated, but if you solve it for pi you can express pi pretty easy

Actually, having an extra two hours every year would result in having a leap year every third year, instead of fourth.
(years are 365 days and 6 hours, that is where they pull a whole day from)

I'm not joking my math teacher persuaded the school to do a whole big thing for pi day. There was a pi baking contest and each grade had to dress down to their assigned number which had a color and it was super extra. I decided to show my teacher your pi videos and I swear he sat silently for 5 minutes just kinda thinking about it before asking me "why did you show me that?"

Also, pie is the English pronounciation. In Greek (it is a Greek letter after all) it is more like pee.

This is the most interesting math video I have ever watched and it taught me about my new favorite math number which is Tau! I think it's cool how she made her arguments on why tau is better than pi. Me personally just seeing pi in a calculator gives me a headache because of the 3.14, 3.14159, 3.14189 debate. Like Vi said what difference does it make if we round this eternal decimal up one number? It really wouldn't affect anything like the building of circular buildings and structures like stadiums and domes. Tau could make things related to that and math life much simpler as Vi rants about in her video. But being that she is an advocate for tau why does she know a lot (she wrote at least a smooth 30 on her doodle) of pi numbers? I'm just curious!!!!!!

What's funny is I'm learning about Pi and circumference in math right now.
what happens if you take a square and fold in the corners, then fold them in again, then again and again until you get an infinite times you need to fold in all the corners? would it eventually reach a circle shape or would it stay infinitely fold over fold? and if so then the length of the perimeter of the shape would get longer and longer until that too was infinite. - inspired by the dragon dungeons video by vihart : )
