This is one of those tracks where you have to cling on for dear life and let the music carry you along at ludicrous speeds and hope you can make it to the end. A masterpiece 😘
The boys all agree this was the most technically difficult song they've ever written and recorded. They've always said they will never write something they can't play live, but this one was pushing the limits!
Jinjer provides modern, progressive metal that doesn't have to be 10 minutes long to get it's point across. Tatiana is a gifted vocalist & poet destroying preconceived notions of heavy metal. Thanks to the VocalCitizen forum bringing it together in one place! p.s. I'm riding the spinal pain train too. Respect!!!
my heart beats for Ukraine + for Jinjer............. once again, thank you very much for your emotional rollercoaster reaction............ lovely greetings from the german musician
My heart too, mein Deutscher freund. It's been hard to watch both of our countries struggle to support Ukraine materially and ideologically. My prayers are that a new American administration will bring redoubled support. Slava Ukraini!
This one was very much of a grower for me, and it has become one of my favourites. I think it's a masterpiece of composition and of musical and vocal ferocity, with perfectly matched lyrics. I think that the lines that best encapsulate the main lyrical theme are: Firе's burning all around us And all we feel is cold And obviously, the sentiment behind and the compelling imagery of dragging god by the beard to see what's going on on the dirty streets is unforgettable. Brilliant, powerful stuff.
It was a grower for me too. The composition is ridiculous. It took a while for me to wrap my head around the complexity. Something clicked one day and now it's one of my favorites. Something about the first half/second half structure of it. The sinuous rollercoaster guitar toward the end of the first half was what first caught me. I always loved the neighbor/hater line--that does make me think of Ukraine/Russia. The passion she puts inn her voice in the second half is so intense and compelling. It's a killer.
It's jinjer time I'm here there's so much more music that you are going to enjoy It's funny I always say that you will like some more than others but here's the thing with jinjer depending on your mood you find what you are looking for. And then the music takes you on a journey.
@@VocalCitizenbe careful in the woods--Tatiana eats tourists! I know you're more than a tourist though. You're busting down the door on each song so you can put em all on your playlist!
"Wish I could catch god by the beard And drag him to the dirty streets To show him what was going on The kind of curse we've waged upon" her tone with this kind of imagery is absolutely brutal -- one of my favorite lines from almost any song.
Nice reaction. Keep 'em coming! My favorite Jinjer song? That's impossible for me to answer. A shorter list would be the songs I don't like AS MUCH as all of their others! They're incapable of making a bad song, IMO.
Brutal, Deborah. One of the he heaviest by them. There is another new song played recently live in Spain probably called "fast draw". Maybe even harder and more devastating😮😮😮
I've been resisting watching it. I don't want my first experience of it to bea crappy cell phone vid. I need good audio for a new Jinjer song. I'm looking, though. I'd like to get at least a little familiar before seeing them live on 10/1. But then again, maybe not...
Very fun song/video, I've always felt this song doesn't receive enough credit for showcasing Tati's vocal range. The changes and utter tightness of the band is amazing too, and gots overlooked far too often. Knowing how Jinjer composes music and writes songs, is there any other lyricist and vocalist that could actually compose and perform a song to this musical composition than Tati? I think not, just anotheer testament to her talent and brilliance. Love Jinjer!
Her pen is mighty, indeed. The vocal prowess is equally magnificent. I love them too. Can you imagine how HARD it is to not binge their music, instead waiting for filming reactions??? I have a headache. 😝
@@VocalCitizen I cannot imagine not being able to listen to all of Jinjer's music at any time I want! I guess it's fortunate for me I'm not a reactor! You do a great job and I can relive vicariously thru you the first time I heard each of their songs and how utterly amazed I was and how emotionally moved I still am by their music and performances!
Yup the tempo here will definitely F up someone’s heart pace maker for sure. I got a healthy ticker and this track definitely disrupts its beat. Vlad is a hummingbird on speed here 🤘🏽 🥁
You keep mentioning how tight they are, and let me tell you, they have performed 3 times in my city (Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺) and I have been there all 3 times (one also being a meet and greet, and front row-this night went on to be their recorded “alive in Melbourne” gig) and honestly, Eugene (bass) and Vlad (drums) become a single entity.. I have seen hundreds of artists live, but no one comes close to Jinjer for how tight they are live…
@@VocalCitizen one of the many things I love about Rush is the attention they paid to their tones. Each of them was a total tone maestro. Geddy has been my bass tone reference point for 46 years. He was the innovator for amp-less bass performance. I feel like Jinjer goes even one better. Geddy cared a lot about his vocal tone. But Tatiana is on another level as a vocalist. She can do things with her voice that most singers can only dream about. And her tones just keep getting better and better. She's aging like fine wine.
There is a video somewhere of some of the making of this video where you see that some of the scenes in the second half were shot by a guy with a camera whipping around on an electric scooter. Once again we go back to Pisces as they are considered mediators between the light and dark parts of humanity. The first verse a beautiful blue dress and wanting nothing but good and then reality sets in where she ends up wishing she could grab God by the beard and drag him down to the dirty streets to see them. I don't think you can ever or will ever be able to separate Tatiana's life outlook from what is happening in Ukraine but of course she's a bigger thinker than just that. All this of course from lyrics because as we know the music is always written before which makes it all the more amazing when the song comes to life. I'm hoping you can do that drum playthrough now. I think you'll enjoy it.
I promise you, the drum playthrough vids are coming. I plan to film a whole mess of them, but I'm gearing toward a slightly different format for them and it's taking time to implement. Hold tight. I've got you.
Thanks, love. I'll eventually get to where I can't answer every comment. Until then, I feel strongly about responding when someone takes the time to boost my comments (thus, my visibility on YT). Plus, I really DO care what you're all thinking after the reaction. That's why I sometimes ask questions... I'M APPRECIATIVE OF YOU ALL. ❣️❣️❣️
@@VocalCitizen thank you! I was talking about ME though lol. I often need to read all the comments on Jinjer reaction videos before commenting myself--often everything I was gonna say has already been said! I just go through and like everything lol.
Jinjer doing Jinjer things 🤣 I don't think you have done Exposed As A Liar yet. Same timeframe as Scissors - more metalcore sound but distinctively Jinjer. Also - the trilogy of terror would be fun - you have done Sit, Stay, Roll Over, but you haven't done Under The Dome and Dip A Sail to complete the trilogy. 🤘 Luv watching your spirit!
The first half of this song is a bit overproduced and too slick, but the second half of the song tugs at my 1980s and 1990s when I was primarily going to punk and hardcore shows.
