Nice conversation, thanks. “Not I but the Christ in me” puts things in the proper perspective, for me, and creates a humble attitude. Doing everything “for His sake” changes your world.

That was easy, my wife WAS better than I was. I think that's why God called her home. She completed her work faster than I have. I miss her.

Humility is key, but it needs to be mutual in marriage, otherwise it’ll make the person vulnerable to abuse. That’s why people avoid humility and seek pride, because it’s safer and self-protective. They learn to protect themselves first.

Set proper boundaries with humility, and if the other person can not respect them, then the relationship is just not worth continuing.

Humility was such an important lesson that Jesus saved it until the end of his ministry - by washing the apostles feet.

Wow that point about humility coming from grace was awesome. I never thought about it that way

I like the perspective on Christianity that J. Warner Wallace takes in this book. He demonstrates that we live the most fulfilled lives when we operate by God's Word. I'm not that far into the book yet, but it's good so far!

    “HUMBLE yourselves therefore
Under ‘The MIGHTY Hand of GOD’,
That HE may exalt you in due time:
Casting A-L-L your Cares upon ‘HIM’,
    For HE Cares for you.”
    ~ Apostle Peter ~

    “The ‘Secret’ of The LORD is with them that Fear HIM;
And HE Will ‘Cause’ them to Know HIS Covenant.”
    (Psalm 25:14)

“And Wisdom and Knowledge shall be the Stability of thy times,
And ‘Strength of Salvation’; The ‘F-E-A-R’ of The LORD ‘IS’ HIS TREASURE.”

Hey J Warner Wallace, I know that you make all of these claims. Like how Humility is the key trait to help in all areas of Human flourishing and I would really love to share that with my ethics class that I'm taking. But I would really appreciate a link to some kind of study or evidence for your claims. It would just give me more confidence in talking to nonbelievers about it and show them the evidence too. Thank you!

God: "What's that in your hand?"
    Moses: "My staff."
God: "I can work with that."
Elisha: "What do you have in the house?"
    Woman: "A jar of oil."
Elisha: "God can work with that."
    God: "What have you got?"
J Warner Wallace: "Years as a cold-case detective."
God: "I can work with that."
What have I got? What have YOU got?

Marriage fail is not a sin...... Jesus intertwine. Remarry if you find a good man or woman. Remember that Jesus come with a sword to separate if he sees unfit. And also mean that marriages are not bless by God until it lasted. ❤ Truth
