I'm in the military pulling guard..in the middle of the damn winter cold middle of night listening to this, hard to type xD but the ambiance makes it sound peaceful
Perhaps it's because snow is the only weather that really "changes" the look of the places it touches, especially in places where it's only a once a year thing. What was once green and lush is now white and reflective. The way light bounces of the tiny ice crystals is just different enough from what the mind usually takes in that it could somewhat cause a sense of wonder or intrigue to someone who doesn't see it everyday. Many people also stay snug and warm inside when it snows, so there's almost a small sense of isolation when going outside. Also have you ever walked through the woods after it snows? It is truly beautiful to say the least.
Always thought this song was scarier compared to the other background themes. Especially the Hebra region. Death Mountain and the Gerudo Desert felt like they were meant to be intense and dangerous but the cold areas of this game felt isolated and mysterious. Especially when everything’s a blur of fog. Perhaps thats why the only reason I would feel threatened in the desert is during a sandstorm
I wish they would have made snowstorms for the snowy regions. It would be so scary to walk around without your map working while listening to this ost I would have shat my pants

@@piinkfa1ry Kinda same in southern Finland there has been some winters where there was almost no snow for the whole winter, i think it might ve due to climate change
Fun fact about cold weather/winter: -40 degrees is where Celcius and Farenheit are both exactly the same. After that point, Farenheit "overtakes" Celcius. For example -60°C = -76°F
That hole in the mountain at 21:27 still kinda creeps me out, because i thought it was from a divine beast before the great calamity Of course I’m pretty sure I saw that same hole playing hurtle warriors: age of calamity Which leads me to believe it WAS a divine beast, but from much longer ago

I know Zelda fans probably will just say this theme is better, but I'd like suggest you all compare this theme to Etrian Odyssey's Den of the Dark Realms. The first time I realized the snowy areas has this theme, I am instantly reminded to Den of the Dark Realms: Simplistic theme that tells you, quite bluntly, that you are gonna DIE.
I was very disappointed to find that they re-used this exact same track for freezing areas in Tears of the Kingdom. It gets tedious very fast, you'd think Nintendo would've learnt that from Breath of the Wild
Same. Luckily, it’s supposed to warm up and get back to normal temperatures this weekend. At least in my part of the state it is. This last week or two has been brutal.
