very good, thank you. felt like I actually knew something and didn't need all of this one but that's because of your previous help. I think the "auto" on the channel selection buttons in the modes tab would be a great time saver and just make INAV more polished.
You must have ESP. I just finished my first wing build with an FC tonight. I've been reading the wiki getting ready to start final setup. Thx for the video.
That video only shows a basic switch setup. For modes, you really want to be using the same RC channel for all your flight and navigation mode. This can be done in OpenTX by combining switches. But, if you’re new to this, I would recommend the INAV Fixed Wing Group OpenTX model. That basically has all you need set out for you. That can be found here inavfixedwinggroup.com/guides/transmitter-models/standard-opentx-model-v3/ If you wanted to try it yourself. This video shows different methods of combining switches. ruclips.net/video/9M9aLVHPL40/видео.html My video for autolaunch goes over the setup for it and the correct procedure for launching the plane ruclips.net/video/rj_RSrXqib8/видео.html
The procedure for autolaunch is: 1. Select a basic flight mode (manual, acro, horizon, or angle) 2. Enable launch mode 3. Arm 4. Select the mode to exit to (loiter in your case) 5. Raise the throttle 6. Throw the plane 7. Have fun!
Hiya Darren. Hope you are well. I had a question .... if im in altitude hold mode, but pitch the nose up or down (so that the plane changes altitude) does the altitude change then hold once i come off the pitch stick? Or does it make the plane return to the altitude at the point at which the alt hold switch was enabled?.
If you use the elevator, I believe that it will hold the new altitude. Don’t forget that altitude hold should not be used on it’s own. It must be used with either Angle or Cruise.
@@MrD thanks for the information. So i assume in order to get alt hold... i need to have already activated angle mode? So if i have angle mode on a switch that is 'on' i can have another seperate switch that then adds alt hold to angle mode when it is switched 'on'? The reason why i ask is because i saw an andrew newton video where he doesnt have angle and just has an alt hold switch. ruclips.net/video/EbBu9LxugNk/видео.html. It looks like he didnt enable angle mode...
Yes, it's best just to have both Angle (or cruise) and Alt hold light up at the same time for a given switch position. But you can set althold on a separate switch, and only add it when you want it. I'm guessing this is what Andrew is doing. You just have to be mindful that you should only use it with Angle or Cruise. You should never use it with Manual, Acro, or Horizon. I'd probably even go so far as to add logic so that it would only activate when either Angle or Cruise are selected.
Hi I am hoping you can help me, I have set up and installed a Matek 405 wing and watched your videos I have all green lights in setup pre arm, I have 10 sats I have mode set to a switch for arming I can run the motor from the motor tab in inav by using the slider but I still cannot arm the motor from the transmitter, this is now doing my head in please help. if I type status in CLI I get Thr cli. if I move my throttle trim on the tx all the way down thr changes to just cli in status.in receiver tab all controls are responding to the tx as far signal, great videos by the way I've learnt heaps but want to go fly the tbs cap2 if I can get the motor armed otherwise im just going to plug the signal directly into the rx as a last resort. Kind Regards wayne
Hi Wayne if the throttle moves correctly on the receiver page, and the motor moves with the slider on the outputs page. You don’t really need to use the throttle on the transmitter to test. It will work. It’s purposely disabled as a safety feature. If you feel you need to, make sure the prop is off. Firstly re-centre all the trims on the transmitter. Then toggle the arm switch off and on 10 times. After that, the warning triangle in the top centre ⚠️ should light up yellow. At that point, the transmitter throttle will control the motor.
@@MrD Many thanks for your reply its change I've just read the 10 x flips on your website but im sure this is not the only thing wrong i.e. I've watched your videos and cannot get lights to light up, cannot turn off the buzzer added in the mode setting despite watching the slider move to the correct position when flicking switch on tx. and auto launch will not start the motor. Sorry for the late reply, I was feeling quite unwell yesterday. To be honest, it is very hard to diagnose what's going on without seeing anything. What you're describing does sound a little odd. I would have suggested trying the 10 times toggle in a non-navigation mode, and to check the arm switch range. It should work without issue. The motor would not work if you're in a navigation mode. For checking things like the motor or throws, it's always best to be in manual. Also, if you have autolaunch permanently enabled, this may interfere? I'm not 100% on that, as I only ever use it on a switch. I like to be in control. I've noticed this comment is on the modes video. Have you seen this one on setting up 4.x ruclips.net/video/6YuJjAknBsQ/видео.html ? The 4.0 vs 4.1 thing I'm am certain is a placebo. It's more likely that something has been set up slightly differently in the firmware configuration when you set up 4.0. I've seen the changes between the two, and they are identical in those aspects. I'm sure if you took a diff all from 4.0, flashed 4.1 and reinstated the diff, it would all work fine. As far as 4.1 goes, it is no more or less stable than 4.0. The main changes are for HD Zero integration, a couple of filter changes, and some updated in configurator for improving the modes page. Everything else is basically identical. LEDs can be a pain. I used to have plenty of problems with them. But then I must have changed how I was doing things as the just started working. This was back quite a few versions ago, so not a firmware issue. Now they work fine on any builds I put them on. Mateksys 2812 LEDs are WS2812; Matek just dropped the WS prefix for some reason. Everything in the transmitter is set up as a normal plane. The mixing is done in iNav.

3. Arm
4. Select the mode to exit to (loiter in your case)
5. Raise the throttle
6. Throw the plane
