People seems so hyped bcause of Terry that you can't even criticize the dlc. We are short on Grapplers like Hugo or Abigail. There's some unique archetypes like Menat missing. Guest character may take a slot of other possible chars. I also agree that guests should be released around season 4.

I'm really glad Bison is back but what are they doing by adding 2 not 1 but 2 guest characters in a 4 character dlc pack. That's literally 50% of the pack and then they bought back the least favorite character from SF3 and 4 Elena instead of Dudley, Makoto, C.Viper, Cody or Sagat is just wild to me. The craziest part is they're gonna continue to do it.
It's not like SNK characters are unwelcome in Street Fighter but taking up half the slots in an entire season of content, ESPECIALLY when the game is presenting itself as wanting to move Street Fighter's world forward (Bison coming back again notwithstanding) probably does end up leaving a sour impression. Plus nowadays bringing in a guest character is a slippery slope and potentially risks leading into things like Bad Box Art Megaman or Negan.
For the next year, look forward to: - Character that has been base roster since SF2 - Two characters that are base roster in KoF - Elena Elena's nice, mind, but she's pulling a LOT of weight here. Can't even argue that it'll be interesting to see how Terry and Mai translate to SF, because we've already seen them translated to SF via crossover games in the past. "How are they going to adapt to SF6 specifically" isn't exactly something that should hold attention for half a year.
The season iscool, my main gripe is they managed to not give a single dlc grappler in 2 years. But I will buy these characters but it doesn't give me any hope we will get any next year incase Tekken has a crossover or something.

It is nice seeing the crossover: no one can deny the impact this will have for the future of SF6, but the game is still missing many archetypes and variety in the game; like there are holes that need to be filled and maybe one hole out of many is filled with this patch (villain, if that's even hype bc bison isn't what many wanted). Also, only one 3S/IV character? If only this was season 3 or 4 where people are maybe not so hype or feeling the game is 'stale' then boom: Mai fan service for the culture. There's no characters in this year 2 that i'm excited about, bison should've stayed dead a while longer, I hate elena with passion to the point that I would rather have a new capoeira fighter instead of her (maybe idk a brazilian ?), and I have nothing against terry or mai as characters but they're just ruining the complete season by taking 50% of the slots and since they've been guest elsewhere already they feel like really "cheap" guest, would've liked Iori or rock a lot more than them. So in the end it's a HARD pass for me with year 2, just worthless.
