I really enjoyed this, cheers to Shawn and Richard. I was only a kid when I heard their early hits courstesy of my big sis so they hold a special place in my musical journey. As I got older my musical tastes took a different direction. I wasn't a disco fan at the time but as I matured and mellowed a bit I appreciated that there was some great music. I think that a BG's top 10 is incomplete without at least one Saturday Night Fever tune! A very unique and talented trio of brothers.
This is excellent! Loved the commentary on each track. While I don't buy the whole 10 in that order, who can say he or she has the definitive favorite ten, This list is a valiant and respectable Top Ten Bee Gees, Personally I am so in love with thirty-five to forty of their catalogue that I will not put my ten in order. Nope, futile. THANK you for the work that obviously went into this video. I can't wait for your next on the Bee Gees.
Thanks a lot. Very interesting and captivating reaction. Concerning the comment about "I started a joke", it has to be mentionned that it wasn't the last track in which Vince Melouney played. In fact, it's "Marley Purt drive". "I started a joke " was recorded June 1968 and "Marley Purt drive" on August 1968.
@@ReactionsToTheClassics Yeah, that's par for the course. My go-to resource for all things discography, bio information accompanying each track are the Bee Gees Decades 1960's and 1970's volumes by Andrew Mon Hughes (Author), Mark Croham (Author), Grant Walters (Author)
This is one of my favourite top 10’s to appear on the channel, the Bee Gees had great disco songs but I personally like their early songs the most. My favourite Bee Gees song is Black Diamond from the 1969 Odessa album, which I only recommend you checking out. My favourite of the songs that featured in the video are To Love Somebody, Run To Me, I Started A Joke & Massachusetts.
My top 5 from this list would be 'Message', 'Disaster', Masschusetts, For Whom the Bell Tolls and To Love Somebody. Plenty of big (non-disco) songs missing, so I'm sure others will chime in with those, but I didn't find myself missing anything in particular, while at the same time would have preferred literally anything to I Started a Joke (a very popular song that I've always loathed)!
Massachusetts was their anti flower power saying flower power will end and you should go home. Robin’s son RJ sings i started a joke on the Gibb Collective album(their kids and Andy’s daughter). I love that thank you to the one that created it and you for sharing. I would have added Words from 1967/1968, Lonely Days and How can you mend a broken heart from 1970/2971. I could not love you more and Kiss of life from 90s. Ok so my list might be top 15 lol so many good songs. ❤❤❤❤
I could almost guarantee before watching that this would not be my list, but then you opened with not the disco era - lol. While I do love some of the disco era music, there is just so much of their music that is even better. I seem to mostly prefer their deeper cuts over the hits, with a few exceptions. My personal top Bee Gees song ilist s closer to 100 songs, I can get it down to 30 if I'm pressed. Some of my favs are on this list (surprisingly), but many are missing, still, a good list. Thanks.
haha kind of pointless to comment Ross if you are neither going to watch the reaction OR read the description! I clearly say in the reaction the music will not be in the video because it will be blocked BUT it will be at a Vimeo link below which is clearly toward the top in the reaction description. That's right we pay for another site so that you can enjoy your free video WITH music. So my advice next time is before you leave a sarcastic comment before the world maybe pay attention. Peace.

The disco could probably be a whole list of its own! Thanks Cyclops!

Thanks for the clarification. That info was in 3 different things I read. They probably took it from each other haha

The Flying Burrito Brothers did a country rock cover of "To Love Somebody" that's really worth checking out.
Will check that out. Thanks KC!

Thanks for watching Ruth, really appreciate it!
I don't know any of these deep cuts. More Than a Woman, Nights on Broadway, and Tragedy are some of my favorites
Most were HUGE hits. Just not the disco era. Thanks for watching!

Can you please react to You can't deny it By Lisa stansfield , music video version please 😊
Thanks for Watching!
Its kind of pointless reacting to a BeeGees top ten and not having the music.
