I admire how confident you are traveling alone. You can tell it's safe. Did you buy the train tickets ahead of time? Or can one be spontaneous? Loved your tour around Salerno. The San Matteo Cathedral Courtyard was beautiful. I didn't know San Matteo crypt was there. Thanks for showing us, it is stunning...what a gem.
We have a little place in Scalea so we will definitely be doing this trip this summer.

I feel safe, but still try to stay near groups of people. I've been to Saleno many times, usually buy my tickets at the last minute. Thank you for watching

Both Salerno and Naples are safe. Of course, you have to be travel savvy. My cousins bought the tickets to go to Vietri and then Salerno on the spot. We went to a tabachia to buy them. If you want to go to Vietri sul Mare, get off the stop before Salerno and then be careful because the Amalfi Coast has a different train line. The Basilica and San Matteo's crypt are spectacular.

Vietri sul Mare and then Albori are the first two villages on the Amalfi Coast. You would have to take a different train line to get to Vietri. The stop is the one before Salerno.

Yes, we were traveling to it from Calabria, so we had to change the train in Salerno. I like Vietri, it's a very pretty town. We have a video about it.

These cities would be lovely if they would clean them especially the buildings that look like they are falling apart. I understand that they want to keep the old buildings architecture but the graffiti is disgusting. The old part of town is super scary and I would not walk it alone. With the exception of the beach, not impressed.

We go there always to see the lights during the Christmas celebration. At that time it's full of people, lights, music, and it looks festive. But I imagine it looks different at other times.
